Thanksgiving dinner was SO good (we went out).
Traditional meal, wine, brownie sundae for dessert. It's chilly out and feels good, adds to the holiday ambience.

It sounds like people had a good time yesterday!

We had a great day. It was Ry's 7th birthday, so the morning was all about opening presents and talking to relatives on the phone.

We always go to my husband's aunt and uncle's house for Thanksgiving dinner. My nephew fell asleep in the car on the way there and stayed asleep for most of the afternoon. My boys were very well behaved until he woke up and started egging E on (even our cousins commented on that).

My SIL brought a portable DVD player and asked E which movie he would like to watch - Toy Story, Mickey Mouse Christmas or Spider-Man. E said Spider-Man and 10 minutes into it asked me to change it because she had put in the live action one with Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe. I must have made a face because my BIL asked me if he was a bad parent because he let his 3 year old watch that movie. He then told us all about how his son beats the crap out of people like he is a power ranger or super hero. Well, duh!

We actually had a really nice dinner and Ry had a great birthday. My husband is now at the mall while I am hanging out with the boys. I'll go online later.

Nope. I've been using what time I do have to do it. But the place is still a mess. Kitchen is mostly put away though. I have *a lot* of kitchen stuff. Cupboards and cabinets are full, and there's no food at all in them (I have a walk-in pantry!).

Happy Thanksgiving Regs!

We had a very excellent meal considering it was all store-bought, pre-made stuff from Publix or from a can. My mom is real good at doctoring. I barely had to do a thing; I took the kids to the pool for most of the day while she got the food prepped. Step-bro and his fam traveled a whole 3 floors up and we all squished around the table. It was surprisingly nice.

And Nunu discovered that she likes pumpkin pie.
We have a local ice cream shop that makes the best pumpkin ice cream. I wish you lived closer so we could get the kids together for dessert!

Sounds like a fun Thanksgiving that the family will look back on fondly for many years!

Well, they both have colds, so if the youngest is up for it, I'll take him skating at 11 (open skate 11-1) then pick up culver's (Yummy Midwestern burger place) for the three of us. The 10yo doesn't want to go.

They're blowing their noses and coughing, so unless that slows down, I won't take the 5yo skating, because he won't be able to blow his nose with all his gear on!

So for now, they're watching Phineas & Ferb. In a bit, the 10yo will play xbox and I'll play war or Sorry with the youngest.

So, doing something totally legal is reason enough for her to be fired?

Dude, you talk about wanting to bang your cousins teenage friends, what kind of employee are you?

Teachers are not allowed to have a sex life? Their teachers, not nuns. What they do in their bedroom is non of my(or my kids) business. Bet you would have a different view if the teacher was a man. Aren't atheletes role models too? How about firemen or a cop? Should all of those peeps be fired if they make a porno?

You know, for someone who is supposedly for smaller govt, you sure seem to think that govt has every right to go into peoples bedrooms and dictate what is allowable.

Yes it should. A person's personal life is a ponderous instrumentality of their character. And their character is a prominent acumen of what kind of employee they are. There's a reason some companies don't hire felons. There's a reason some companies have drug tests.
There's a story I heard a couple weeks ago about a teacher getting fired for making a porno. Was she wrong to be fired or is THAT the kind of role model you want for your children?
Is it wrong to fire your employee for screaming at and giving the finger to dead soldiers, or is THAT the woman you want propagandizing your company?

Had a good Tday. Was just myself, so had a small 10lb bird deep fried, I actually used the gibletts and stuff to make gravy even though I only had stove top stuffing. Started drinking wine way too early, and was pretty toasted by 7. I soaked the wood in the peanut oil and had a kick ass fire. I took a picture on my phone and sent it to someone I did not know. They called me back and were like WFT??? That was funny.

Are you still on Lindsay Stone, the girl at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery? No one one poked into her bedroom or private life and the government was not involved.. She posted it on You Tube and it is her private employer who is ticked.

Public conduct, Race, public conduct has consequences different that private conduct and the government is not at all involved.

If you did not intrinsically agree with that, you would be posting here using your real name

For the 1st 10 years we were in this house, our back fence neighbor lived with an adult son who did BBQ like that every weekend, all year. It was like having the Olympic torch over the back fence. When he died, his siblings had teh funeral lunch at teh house and lit the torch one last time.

Did you just pick a random number to send teh picture to? Did you just guess they could receive a photo?

And she or her coworker posted it on FB. Idiots.

My boss fired a young woman for inappropriate behavior in the building parking lot. The girl tried to argue about it. "But I wasn't on company property or on the clock!" My boss felt that it was more about poor judgment and choices being made.

(Her boyfriend met her after work and they LAID DOWN ON THE HOOD OF HIS CAR AND MADE OUT. At 5 p.m. when everyone could see as they want to work. People in the building watched from the windows, incredulous over the behavior.)
