TEL AVIV — Secretary of State John Kerry made a surprise visit to Israel on Wednesday, as he pressed his effort to forge a cease-fire to bring a halt to the bitter fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Kerry’s plane touched down at Ben-Gurion International Airport just a day after the United States Federal Aviation Administration suspended American civilian flights to Israel.

Mr. Kerry will visit Jerusalem and the West Bank and is scheduled to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel; Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority; and Ban Ki-moon, secretary general of the United Nations.

The F.A.A. action was taken after a Hamas rocket fell about a mile from the airport, leading to what the agency called “a potentially hazardous situation created by the armed conflict in Israel and Gaza.”

HOW COME THEY DID NOT FLY TO GAZA AIRORT AND HAVE A
MEETING WITH HAMAS ?????

Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg (I) is flying to Israel tonight on the Israeli airline El Al to protest a Federal Aviation Administration ban on U.S. carriers flying to or from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.

Bloomberg made the announcement on his Web site. He urged the FAA to change its decision.

"This evening I will be flying on El Al to Tel Aviv to show solidarity with the Israeli people and to demonstrate that it is safe to fly in and out of Israel," Bloomberg said in a statement. "Ben Gurion is the best protected airport in the world and El Al flights have been regularly flying in and out of it safely. The flight restrictions are a mistake that hands Hamas an undeserved victory and should be lifted immediately. I strongly urge the FAA to reverse course and permit US airlines to fly to Israel."

The FAA said the ban -- for at least 24 hours -- was put in place after a rocket landed about a mile away from the airport.

Bloomberg to raise hell with Hamas and BAN their GUNS !!!

Know them by their fruits. Not all who stand behind Christianity bear the fruits (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control).
I, too, battle with the flesh and try to bear these fruits unless willfully stupid people and people who are cruel put me to the test.
Even when losing that battle, God knows my heart's in the right place, pretty sure. When progressive secularists don't seem to care about God or country and demonize those of us who do, then my battle begins.
But sometimes battles have to be fought so what's right and good for all prevails.
Don't you even dare to question anyone's patriotism of faith Carol because they disagree with your narrow minded beliefs. Your Christianity seems to be limited to being anti abortion and anti gay although you seemed to show a glimmer of compassion concerning the children showing up on our border. But the basic concept of the Gospels, social justice, seems to go right over your head.
The Founding Fathers were secular progressives Carol and the Constitution is a secular progressive document.
You're the last person on the planet to be calling anyone else "willfully stupid"; you've demonstrated your ignorance on a daily basis.

Gaza war seems to have potential for loss on both sides. Israel air port closed. After the war they will live side by side with increased hatred.
Balkanization of the region. We have no troops in Iraq...except the advisors the the news media ignores. ISIS irritating everyone.

In December 1942, the United States, Great Britain, and ten other Allied governments issued a declaration denouncing Nazi Germany's intention to murder the Jews of Europe. The declaration warned Nazi Germany that it would be held responsible for these crimes.
During the era of the Holocaust, the New York Times, the nation's leading newspaper, generally deemphasized the murder of the Jews in its news coverage.
As the magnitude of anti-Jewish violence increased in 1939-1941, many American newspapers ran descriptions of German shooting operations. The ethnic identity of the victims was not always made clear even though some reports described German mass murder operations with the word "extermination."
The New York Times reported on the operations of the killing center in Chelmno, but the article appeared on page six of the newspaper.
Even though they covered the December 1942 statement of the Allies condemning the mass murder of European Jews on its front page, it placed coverage of the more specific information released on page ten, significantly minimizing its importance.

Apparently, some things never change. The bias of the New York Times, for example.
Actually nitwit the New York Times was and in many ways still is a conservative paper. You seem to forget that the isolationists that resisted any involvement in the war in Europe were conservatives like Prescott Bush who did business with the Third Reich.
The New York Times was also one of the foremost newspapers to beat the drum for the war in Iraq and its main reporter on this issue was Judith Miller who was played like a cello by various Ahmed Chalabi and his band of fabricators. Lying exile grifter Ahmad Chalabi fed her the worst of the nonsense designed to push America into toppling Saddam Hussein (and giving Iraq to him), and she pushed that nonsense into the newspaper of record. She got everything wrong, and for some insane reason, she remained employed at the Times until 2005, when she negotiated her separation from her longtime professional home.
The Times also published the lies told by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. When the falsity of these allegations came to light the Times buried their retraction deep inside the paper.

Kerry and Obama only talk to to Hamas through a third party of terrorists, like the PA. That way they look like they don't support Hamas. Most democrats in the United States buy into the foolishness.

An assignation occurred at 10AM on a north side main highway. Media in chicago refuses to cover. Oh oh because gangs aren't supposed to be on the north side suburbs. This is what happens when you say it is GRAS. No police coverage and those illegals start fighting with the negroes.
