There will always be poor people. That doesn't mean they don't rise to the middle or upper class under a Democratic president.
However, since you opened the door by giving credence to a basketball player:
" I was a Republican until they lost their minds, The word 'conservative' means 'discriminatory,' practically. It's a form of political discrimination. What do the Republicans run on? Against gay marriage and for a war that makes no sense. A war that was based on faulty intelligence. That's all they ever talk about. That and immigration. Another discriminatory argument for political gain." (Charles Barkley)
"The Republicans are full of it. The Democrats are a little less full of it." (Charles Barkley)
"I don't like the way the Republicans are taking this country. Every time I hear the word "conservative," it makes me sick to my stomach, because they're really just fake Christians, as I call them. That's all they are." (Charles Barkley)
On "fake Christians": "Well, I think they -- they want to be judge and jury. Like, I'm for gay marriage. It's none of my business if gay people want to get married. I'm pro-choice. And I think these Christians -- first of all, they're supposed to be -- they're not supposed to judge other people. But they're the most hypocritical judge of people we have in this country. And it bugs the hell out of me. They act like they're Christians. And they're not forgiving at all." (Charles Barkley)

I think the only churches you should be so vehemently concerned with are those mosques given tax exempt status and operating as fronts for radical islamic groups.
Their shuffling of vast capital to these groups are imposing a moral code, theirs.
It's called jihad and sharia.
Talk about "telling people with no moral code" in the same sentence with "how to run others' treacherous lives ... " might then make sense.
And as long as these mosques keep receiving tax exemptions from mainly leftist/corrupt administrations, they're going to continue to vote Democrat.
Along with the vast population of Illegal Mexicans ...
Add to that the impoverished minorities ...
And the fluff head young leftists ...
Don't forget the Hollywooders ...
That is a large voter base that out numbers The Evangelical Christian vote.
Many who voted for Baraq, by the way. RE: Black Baptists. Liberal Evangelicals. Evangelical Christian is synonymous with Born Again Christian.
Which makes your argument against Evangelical Christians rather irrelevant.
And mirrors the vitriolic hatred for Christians shared by the leftist Communists and Muslims.
And that's all I have to state on this subject ...
Under the Constitution all religions including Islam are equal in the eyes of the law you miserable, ignorant bigot. It's not Muslims that are trying to impose their beliefs on others, it's right wing Christians who among other things want to deny gays and lesbians equal rights and protections under the law, by throwing road blocks into a woman's right to control their own bodies and even what kind of contraceptives they can get through insurance.
Illegal immigrants don't vote for anyone STUPID.
Poor minorities have the same right to vote as you do you racist piece of fecal matter.
The rest of your post is just asinine hog wash.
You're an idiot Olive; you always have been and always will be!

Hard time understanding English Jeffrey? There wasn't one word said about enacting laws. He ignores, circumvents and alters laws, whenever he sees fit.

Seriously? You are going to repeat that lie? Are you incapable of comprehending simple FACTS or do you just think if you repeat a lie enough times people will start believing it?

Rated PANTS ON FIRE by Politifact:

"Nine of the 13 cases actually originated when President George W. Bush was in office."

"Bush’s Justice Department handled the initial court proceedings in most of those instances."

"Nine of the 13 cases actually originated when President George W. Bush was in office.

"Bush’s Justice Department handled the initial court proceedings in most of those instances.

"Obama’s Justice Department in many of the cases handled the appellate process and ultimately defended the actions to the Supreme Court. But that’s commonplace.."

"Only one of the 13 cases actually had to do directly with Obama’s overreach: National Labor Relations Board vs. Noel Canning. In that case, decided in June, the Supreme Court said unanimously that Obama went too far when he appointed members to the National Labor Relations Board when the Senate wasn’t technically in session."

But even that case had nothing to do with what Spicer said last weekend on CNN. Spicer claimed that the court has unanimously rejected "the president's executive orders" 13 times in three years.

Executive orders are a lot different, and a lot more specific, than "constitutional authority," which is what Goodlatte said. Executive orders are official actions taken by the president directing the federal government and bureaucracies. They carry the power of law, but can be revoked or amended by future administrations and are limited in scope.

It does not appear that any of these cases actually have to do with executive orders issued by Obama.

In the case concerning the National Labor Relations Board, for example, the issue was the president’s power to make appointments. There was no executive order issued that named individuals to positions to the board.

In United States vs. Arizona, another case on the list, Obama’s justice department took Arizona to court over the state’s tough immigration laws. But it wasn’t the result of an executive order from Obama.

In one of the cases, McCullen vs. Coakley, the Obama administration was not even a plaintiff or a defendant in the case. The case was a challenge to a Massachusetts law that put no-protest zones around abortion clinics. While the Obama administration filed a brief supporting the Massachusetts law, no executive order was filed or challenged.

And again, most of these cases were started under Bush, so any executive action was likely coming from the previous administration, not Obama."

Do you remember the economy in 2008? Here's what the economy under Obama is doing now:
Job losses were cut by more than 50% within his first 4 months in office.
He saved the American auto industry.
Has cut our deficits by more than half.
Interest rates at record lows.
Housing market rebounding.
Inflation low.
Led us out of Bush recession.
Presided over record breaking stock levels (with the Dow just recently closing over 17,000 for the first time in its 118-year history).
Reduced unemployment from 10% to 6.1%.
We just saw the fastest first quarter of job growth in the United States since 1999.
The quickest drop in unemployment in 30 years.
52 straight months of private sector job growth.
9.7 million private sector jobs created.
Over 8 million people signed up for health care thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
Millions of Americans have gained, or kept, health care coverage thanks to Medicaid expansions and being able to stay on their parents’ insurance longer.

All this in spite of a do-nothing obstructionist Congress sworn to make him a failure.

Of course "poor" people vote Democratic. They are the ones who must rely on social services for their very existence. They are fully aware that Republicans don't give a damn about the poor. Other than as a source of cheap labor. That's why Republicans made cuts to programs like Head Start and Food Stamps. Republicans work very hard to push poor Americans, and in particular, poor women and kids, deeper into poverty and everyone knows it.

When the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, the GOP-run legislatures and governors, immediately responded by passing laws to make it harder for poor people to vote. And the GOP governors ensured that millions of Americans too poor to qualify for government subsidies, would be denied care by refusing to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.

The only disconnect is in the workings of your brain.
