Monday at the White House while hosting a reception to observe LGBT Pride Month, President Barack Obama call his White House Pastry Chef Bill Yosses "the crust master" because the president said, "I don't know what he does—whether he puts crack in them." But the president continued he had to adopt a no weekday pie rule.
Laughing and applauding, the first lady Michelle Obama added, "Theres no crack in our pies."

Your president O'bmaa and his wife on crack--these are the 'classy'**** you elected.

Not sure what the big deal is. Reed was Bush's senior advisor in both presidential campaigns. But he also worked on seven presidential campaigns and advised 88 campaigns for governor, U.S. Senate and Congress in 24 states.
He has a Ph.D in American History from Emory University and sat on boards such as University of Georgia School of Public and International Affairs, Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Advisory Council of SafeHouse,
Newsweek named Reed one of the top 10 political newsmakers in the nation. Life magazine named him one of the 20 most influential leaders of his generation. And Time magazine named him one of the 50 future leaders of America. The Wall Street Journal called him “perhaps the finest political operative of his generation.”
Again, not sure what the big deal is.
Well actually Carol, the majority of Americans, 55% believe that same sex marriage should be legal. In the 18 to 29 year old age group the approval rating is even higher at 78%.
People like Ralph Reed and you want to enshrine your narrow religious views into law and couch your bigotry in terms like "traditional values" Marriage is at its core a civil contract that provides legal protections and should be available to all citizens not just those you approve of. What part of equal rights and protections under the law can't you wrap your head around Carol? I don't know about you Caroling citizens of equal rights is a big deal to me.

Wrong moron here's what actually occurred;
A misleading Associated Press (AP) headline sparked a storm of right-wing media accusations that former IRS official Lois Lerner targeted Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) for audit, though records only show that Lerner asked an expert a legal question about an event invitation sent to Grassley and the subject of her inquiry was unclear.
Right-wing media jumped to parrot a June 25 AP headline that claimed newly released emails show "IRS Official Sought Audit of GOP Senator." The Drudge Report linked to the AP story with the claim "IRS Lerner Targeted GOP Senator," the Daily Caller argued that newly discovered emails from Lerner show "the former IRS Exempt Organizations director's attempt to audit GOP Sen. Chuck," and The Washington Times claimed that Lerner "tried to get her agency to conduct an audit" of Grassley. On the June 26 edition of Fox & Friends, Fox host Steve Doocy said Lerner decided "I've got to target that guy, even though she didn't have any of the facts."
But as the actual AP article pointed out, the email exchange between Lerner and Giuliano does not support the claims forwarded in its own headline and by right-wing media. Lerner initially asked if an event organizer's offer to pay for Grassley's wife to attend an event warranted examination. Lerner mentioned the possibility that the offer was inappropriate but did not specify whether she was suggesting that Grassley should be examined:
Is this the one where we got the copy to Grassley? Did he get one to me? Looked like they were inappropriately offering to pay for his wife. Perhaps we should refer to Exam?
Giuliano was similarly focused on the event host. He noted that that the invitation from the group was not enough to warrant sending the issue to the IRS Exam Department, because Grassley had not yet accepted the invitation, and said the issue would only warrant further investigation if Grassley later failed to report the offer as income. In her response, Lerner didn't indicate interest in pursuing the issue further.
So Lerner questioned whether a group had done something wrong, talked to a colleague, and then dropped the whole thing.
You're an idiot Rox Lo; you always have been and always will be!
You are an idiot DuPont the first step in any audit is a request for an Exam.

Lerner was having hysterics over the possibility that perhaps Grassley may accept the invite and then allow the IRS to pay for his wife's flight and then may not report it.

No, Lerner did not question if a group did something wrong. She was suggesting Grassley had done something wrong.

The agent basically told her to get a grip. Totally ridiculous for her to even have asked in the first place.

Of course Lerner could do nothing as she was not in charge of audits. So, when told there was no cause for an audit --she had no choice but to drop it.

So, you wasted your time posting something that didn't change one word from what was stated in the emails?

Pure Goldwater by John Dean and Barry Goldwater is a terrific read__all of his books are worth a look.

Goldwater last home was just across the gulch from Alice Coopers place and about three times as large.

Seems the people should have the last word on something of this nature that affects society as a whole, wouldn't you think?
No stupid, the rights of any particular group shouldn't be up to a vote.
Our 4th President, Father of the Constitution and architect of the Bill of Rights, may have foreseen the current push by a religious minority to use majoritarian devices in Congress to tyrannize the rest of the country. He must have feared it when he wrote Thomas Jefferson in France from the Continental Congress on October 24, 1787. After recognizing the need for a majority in routine votes, he asked when "a majority... united by a common interest or a passion cannot be constrained from oppressing the minority, what remedy can be found...?"
At any rate the anti Marriage equality crown is in the minority and shrinking. Once again Carol what is it about equal rights and protections under the law don't you understand?

In June of 2008, the jobless effects of the Bush recession had hardly begun.
To use it as a starting point for your recovery is dumber than sh*t.
You compared todays poverty numbers with 2008. You did it, not me.
But hey, keep running away from your own posts.
What was disconnected was your response.

Notice, I did not pick a number during an economical boom to compare current poverty rates with but the 2008 number that was mid-way in a recession.

Now we fast forward five years from when the recession ended and the number has increased since June 2009. The poverty rate has been at 15% for a couple years now.

You posted a knee-jerk response failing to realize that this does nothing to change the current poverty rate and you were given a very soft target to compare it with.

That is a LIE, Dave.

I repeated what I have always stated about Lerner's email. Her suggesting Grassley be audited was unwarranted.

She was told she was off base. You cannot audit someone because they "may" do something.

Lerner's job was tax exempt orgs and not audits. Nor was it her job to go on witch hunts for someone to target for an audit.

Liar.
You picked a time before the real job losses began to compare it today's to say there is no recovery.
June of 2008 is not the midpoint of the official recession.
Do you just lie all the time, Skippy?
Evidently, you have no clue the the job situation is a lagging indicator with recessions.
You also must think job loss & poverty are not connected.
Between December of 2007 & June of 2008 (your midpoint), there was a net job loss of 522,000 jobs. From July 2008 thru june of 2009, there were nearly 7 million jobs lost.
So what do you think, Skippy. Would losing 7 million jobs effect the poverty rate?

A Florida judge has thrown out George Zimmerman's libel suit against NBC Universal.
Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson ruled that Zimmerman, a former Sanford, Fla., Neighborhood Watch volunteer, is not entitled to money from NBC following his defamation lawsuit against the media organization.
Nelson said that Zimmerman failed to show the network acted with malice, according to The Associated Press.
She said the malice standard was appropriate because Zimmerman became a public figure after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black 17-year-old, inside a gated community in Sanford, Fla., in 2012
Zimmerman "voluntarily injected his views into the public controversy surrounding race relations and public safety in Sanford and pursued a course of conduct that ultimately led to the death of Martin and the specific controversy surrounding it," said Nelson, who presided over Zimmerman's criminal trial last summer.
Zimmerman had filed the suit two years ago, accusing the media giant of falsely depicting him as a racist in a series of broadcasts NBC ran shortly after Zimmerman shot and killed Martin. In the lawsuit, Zimmerman accused NBC of defaming him by airing edited clips of a 911 call he made on the night of the shooting -- claiming NBC practices "yellow journalism."
His suit is finished unless the ruling is reversed by an appeals court, according to the newspaper.

so despite what FOX News says; if you talk like a racist, you are a racist.
