Creationists Attack Neil deGrasse Tyson for Blind Faith in Science

If you see something bizarrely hypocritical about creationists attacking somebody for having blind faith, youre not alone.

There is a difference, after all, between belief and fact, between wishes and truth, between pseudoscience and science. And insisting on adherence to a Bronze Age level of belief about the cosmos and its origins, makes no sense at all in the face of 21st century science. And insisting, in the face of all the evidence to the contrary, that the Bible is somehow science and that science is not, is about as sad and sorry an example of wishful thinking as you can imagine.

even being rich-white-republican-evil has an expiration date...

"Using data from the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Carroll showed that between 1999 and 2007, half of those who earned over $1 million a year did so just once during this period, while only 6 percent reported millionaire status across all nine years..."

Its Something Im Proud Of: Penna. Gubernatorial Candidate Goes All-In On ObamaCare
FacebookTwitter Share Email
By: Emily Schultheis (Politico)
Most Democratic candidates in competitive races this year are avoiding talking about the Affordable Care Act, but a new ad from Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-Montgomery/Philadelphia) one of the four Democrats vying to take on Pennsylvania GOP Gov. Tom Corbett embraces both President Obama and his signature health care law.
I worked with President Obama on the Affordable Care Act and getting health coverage to all Americans, Schwartz says in the ad, shared first with POLITICO.It was my legislation that said insurance companies can no longer deny coverage for kids with pre-existing conditions. Its something Im proud of because it also closed the gap in prescription drug coverage for seniors.
The ad, made by the Dixon/Davis Media Group, intersperses footage of Schwartz speaking direct-to-camera with photos of her and President Obama together.
Schwartz is locked in a four-way competitive primary battle, and an ad like this is a play to shore up her base in the heavily-Democratic Philadelphia where her congressional district is based, and on which shes relying in order to win the May 20 primary. Previously the frontrunner in the race, Schwartz has seen her lead in the polls eclipsed by businessman Tom Wolf, whos already spent millions on TV ads across the state.
The ad also takes aim directly at Corbett for not accepting the federal Medicaid expansion, a move she says shed reverse because 500,000 Pennsylvanians need health coverage.
Allyson Schwartz: "I'm stupid as hell and I'm proud of it and I want to be your governor"

envy and jealousy distorts a Progressives view of the 'real-world'....

"Likewise, data analyzed by the I.R.S. showed similar findings with respect to the top 400 taxpayers between 1992 and 2009. While 73 percent of people who made the list did so once during this period, only 2 percent of them were on the list for 10 or more years."
