The BLM has other options that are not quite so public. They are free to file a tax lien against Bundy. Then we can sit back and see if Bundy still insist that the Federal Government has no jurisdiction over him...as he loses that little 150 acres that he actually owns.
The BLM with Bundy announced they came to a settlement Saturday morning-why do you keep obsessing about this?

The BLM announced it as a victory, but you keep acting like they lost.

You can grow things to eat in lava.
You know, like Kona coffee?
Macadamia nuts?
Point is, here's actual proof states can't handle their own land problems.... especially when they try to get away with giving a pittance of a fine until conservationists make an uproar...
I'm pretty sure they had been inspected by the EPA.

Nevada will put the needs of the Rancher above what's best in the long run. The very reason the BLM had to take over management of the land was because the state was letting ranchers ruin the land.

the history of people overusing the land or resources they make a living off of is long and storied...
but then facts never get in the way of you posting what you wish were true, do they?
The Bundy family has used that land for over a hundred years and it is still can be used for cattle grazing. Pretty much says it all.

You are talking about exceptions. People who make a living off the land for decades do not abuse it. This would be similar to you taking your lawn mower and attempting to use it to cut down brush-you are not going to do that.

don't you people ever learn???...
for one who is always complaining about people being on the public dole, and socialist Democrats, how can you defend Bundy. His cattle were grazing on public lands, property of the gov't, and he refused to pay the fees.

Isn't that MOOCHING in your book?

earlier you said it was 200 years...what will it be ten minutes from now...

yet when it isn't just their land, and many use it, the dynamic changes as all of history shows us..

again show me one fishery that hasn't been over fished....and those people make their living off of it....

you keep making statements the facts just won't support. why?

why must you bullshit about everything?

still nothing about your lie about them being on the land for 200 years? just one more pile of steaming bullshit from you?

so many piles....

We know you want the protesters shot, the rancher hauled to jail and his family starved as their just punishment for defying the government. Have you considered you are being irrational?

<quoted text>so people should be able to use gov't land for free? really? who uses it the most? the people with the most guns?
sorry, pal, we live ina civilized society. we have rules. we have gov't.
this is exactly why we have govt..but not to subsidize the ranchers. if that land were rented out for its true value, the bundy ranch would not exist. the family rancher way of life would be prety much dead.
facts are fun!
The fees would remain local instead of going to that money pit in Wash. DC.

Let's see what the BLM has been doing with the desert land

Buyers snapped up 29 federal land leases totaling more than 56 square miles in a northeastern Nevada area.

This could become the state's first oil shale fracking site.

U.S. Bureau of Land Management geologist Lorenzo Trimble tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal the Elko County oil and gas leases sold Tuesday for $1.27 million to six different companies.
