Hannity's Dangerous Game Touting A Rogue Rancher And His Violent Threats
Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy has quickly become a darling of right-wing media over his decades-long refusal to pay federal government fees required to allow his cattle to exploit public lands. In July 2013, a federal court ordered the rancher to remove his cattle from the public property or they would be confiscated and sold to pay off the $1 million in fees and trespassing fines Bundy owes. When that confiscation began this month, the rancher took his battle to conservative media, who held him up as a folk hero battling big government invasion into private property rights and states' rights.
Bundy's defiance has been marked by violent and revolutionary rhetoric toward the federal government, hints of a bloody confrontation cheered on by the right-wing fringes who have repeatedly compared the situation to notorious and deadly standoffs like Ruby Ridge and Waco. For example, when Bundy appeared on his radio program, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones posited that if Bundy's supporters confronted federal agents at the auction for Bundy's confiscated cattle, which the rancher encouraged, it "could be how the shot heard round the world happens in this case." Jones warned that "this could turn into 1776 very quickly."
But such dangerous hyperbole isn't confined to the fringes. Increasingly, Sean Hannity's promotion and defense of the rancher's actions and threats is starting to resemble that of far-right extremists.

This is one of the comments:

Cowboy" Hannity says he's heading out there. That wimp would hide behind the women and children if someone clenched their fist. You can tell he wants something to break out so he can blame Obama. The PHONY PATRIOT at it again.

If that rancher was black, the swat team would have taken him out already. Now the rightwing media has gotten involved and all those yahoos will be pumped up, ready for war.

So therefore you agree that this rancher doesn't have to pay; using that wisdom, then all the other ranchers don't have too either.

Well, that's rich. PDupont denies Saul Salinksky and his tactics even exist but you back him up by subscribing these "nonexistent" tactics to the tea party.

The ruthless tactics of Salinksky are embraced by the progressive liberals but you find fault with them as soon as you allege they've been adopted by the tea party.

Squeeze yourself back into that place liberals always find themselves - between that rock and a hard place - and make room for PDupont.

What is getting old is people not knowing what is happening in the BLM managed lands.

The government has no problems in waiving their alleged concerns when it comes to the turtles...

"Environmental groups and residents of Nevada have filed a complaint in U.S. District Court of Nevada challenging the Department of the Interior's permit granting Duke Energy permission to construct an 87-turbine wind energy facility east of Searchlight on 19,000 acres of Bureau of Land Management land. Excerpts of the complaint are provided below. The plaintiffs argue that Former Interior Secretary Ken Salazar acted in a manner that was arbitrary, capricious, an abuse of discretion and contrary to law. The full complaint can be accessed by clicking on the link(s) at the bottom of this page."

http://www.windaction.org/posts/36964-lawsuit...

"Washington, DC.(October 12, 2013)— Interior Secretary Ken Salazar today released the government’s final policy directing solar energy development on public lands. The Record of Decision (ROD) for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) solar program guides future solar development to zones where conflicts with wildlife, wild lands and important natural resources are minimized. In total, approximately 280,000 acres are included in the 17 zones, which represent a significant reduction from earlier proposals. Development can also occur on an additional 19 million acres of BLM lands — including vital desert tortoise habitat — through a “variance” process, although the plan excludes some of these lands and technically discourages development in others.

Following is a statement from Jamie Rappaport Clark, President of Defenders of Wildlife.

“We are pleased to see this important step forward. The decision to direct future solar energy projects to low conflict areas represents a very different and, in our view, much more rational approach to renewable energy development on public lands. Guiding development to low-conflict zones will be better for wildlife, energy developers, utilities and investors alike. It offers a more efficient way to get environmentally-friendly renewable energy on line and greater certainty for all involved.

“We are nonetheless disappointed to see that vital habitat for the federally threatened desert tortoise is still open to potential development through the variance process. BLM and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service should have taken a more cautious approach to exclude these areas or delay solar development until more scientific information became available on the impact of these projects on the species. Instead, they chose to merely ‘discourage’ development in these areas. This creates greater uncertainty for developers and could undermine the survival and long-term sustainability of a unique and iconic desert species.”

Media Matters blindly supports this progressive government.

You proved the point as you could not provide one example where they challenged progressive ideology.

I had no idea that there were that many stores. What happened? People getting sick of buying cheap inferior Chinese products that are probably poisoning them?
We just got a new Fresh Market; it was packed with people, they're going to open another not far from here soon, as well as Trader Joes, they're building them near each other!
We have only one Whole Foods which is always packed! Then Aldi is opening 30 stores in Florida, but not in Boca Raton as far as I know, but in neighboring towns.
Aldi is crap, the supermarket equivalent of a second-hand store....dented cans, out of date merchandise, etc......

Aldi and Trader Joe have the same parent company......

Whole Foods is grossly overpriced, but usually packed....go figure.....
