IRAQ
NAME: Abu Nidal organization (ANO) a.k.a. Fatah Revolutionary Council, Arab Revolutionary Brigades, Black September, and Revolutionary Organization of Socialist Muslims.
DATE STARTED/FIRST ACTIVE: Split from the PLO in 1974.
GOALS: Establishment of a Palestinian State.
MAIN ANTI-U.S. ACTIVITIES TO DATE: Targets include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Israel, moderate Palestinians, the PLO, and various Arab countries. Has not attacked Western targets since the late 1980s.
STRENGTH: A few hundred plus limited overseas support structure.
OPERATIONAL LOCATIONS: Its leader, Sabri Al-Banna, relocated to Iraq in December 1998, where the group maintains a presence. Has an operational presence in Lebanon, including in several Palestinian refugee camps. Authorities shut down the ANO's operations in Libya and Egypt in 1999. Has demonstrated ability to operate over wide area, including the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Has carried out terrorist attacks in 20 countries, killing or injuring almost 900 persons.
AFFILIATIONS: Has received considerable support, including safe haven, training, logistic assistance, and financial aid from Iraq, Libya, and Syria (until 1987), in addition to close support for selected operations.
COMMENTS: Financial problems and internal disorganization have reduced the group's activities and capabilities. A Designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) listed as "active" during 2000.
NAME: Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK or MKO) a.k.a. The National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA, the militant wing of the MEK), the People's Mujahidin of Iran (PMOI), National Council of Resistance (NCR), Muslim Iranian Student's Society (front organization used to garner financial support).
DATE STARTED/FIRST ACTIVE: 1960s.
GOALS: The MEK continues to conduct a worldwide campaign against the Iranian government, which stresses propaganda and occasionally uses terrorist violence.
MAIN ANTI-U.S. ACTIVITIES TO DATE: During the 1970s, the MEK staged terrorist attacks inside Iran and killed several U.S. military personnel and civilians working on defense projects in Tehran. Supported the takeover in 1979 of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran.
STRENGTH: Several thousand fighters based in Iraq with an extensive overseas support structure. Most of the fighters are organized in the MEK's National Liberation Army (NLA).
OPERATIONAL LOCATIONS: In the 1980s, the MEK's leaders were forced by Iranian security forces to flee to France. Most resettled in Iraq by 1987. In the mid-1980s, the group did not mount terrorist operations in Iran at a level similar to its activities in the 1970s. In the 1990s, however, the MEK claimed credit for an increasing number of operations in Iran.
AFFILIATIONS: Beyond support from Iraq, the MEK uses front organizations to solicit contributions from expatriate Iranian communities.
COMMENTS: Formed by the college-educated children of Iranian merchants, the MEK sought to counter what it perceived as excessive Western influence in the Shah's regime. Following a philosophy that mixes Marxism and Islam, the MEK has developed into the largest and most active armed Iranian dissident group. Its history is studded with anti-Western activity, and, most recently, attacks on the interests of the clerical regime in Iran and abroad. A Designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) listed as "active" during 2000.
Abu Nidal was murdered__likely on orders from Saddam. Saddam also said the he'd kill OBL with his own hands if he caught him in Iraq.

There was no AQ in Iraq prior to the US invasion. At some point afterward some AQ affiliates began entering from Syria and Saudi Arabia.

Just this week fifty jihadists were killed by Iraqi.

Oh My: Audit Finds Evidence of Widespread Voter Fraud in North Carolina

According to this audit by the North Carolina Elections Oversight Committee, at least 81 dead people have been voting from the grave, and more than 35,000 people with matching full names and dates of birth voted in both North Carolina and another state in the 2012 general election.

To put that number in context, Barack Obama carried North Carolina by fewer than 15,000 votes in 2008.

GOP Candidate Sentenced for Felony Fraud After Changing Party Affiliation of 300 Democratic Voters, Casting Absentee Ballots in Their Name
With these 300 fraudulent votes created by one Republican candidate alone, that's 300 more fraudulent votes than have ever been created by ACORN or anybody who has ever worked for them.
But, of course, you're unlikely to hear that, or even this story itself, from the tenacious Fox "News" "voter fraud special investigative unit" or the GOP clowns who help them disinform American voters.

More Acorn Voter Fraud Comes to Light

Congressional Democrats still want the group to be eligible for federal money

Fred Voight, deputy election commissioner in Philadelphia, protested after Acorn (according to the registrar of voters and his own investigation) submitted at least 1,500 fraudulent registrations last fall. "This has been going on for a number of years," he told CNN in October. St. Louis Democrat Matthew Potter, the city's deputy elections director, had similar complaints.

Gun deaths shaped by race in America
Comments
More
Gun deaths are shaped by race in America. Whites are far more likely to shoot themselves, and African Americans are far more likely to be shot by someone else.
The statistical difference is dramatic, according to a Washington Post analysis of data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A white person is five times as likely to commit suicide with a gun as to be shot with a gun; for each African American who uses a gun to commit suicide, five are killed by other people with guns.
inlinecharts2
Where a person lives matters, too. Gun deaths in urban areas are much more likely to be homicides, while suicide is far and away the dominant form of gun death in rural areas. States with the most guns per capita, such as Montana and Wyoming, have the highest suicide rates; states with low gun ownership rates, such as Massachusetts and New York, have far fewer suicides per capita.
Suicides and homicides are highly charged human dramas. Both acts shatter families, friends and sometimes communities. But the reactions are as different as black and white, and those differences shape the nation’s divided attitudes toward gun control.
For instance, African Americans tend to be stronger backers of tough gun controls than whites. A Washington Post-ABC News poll this month found that about three-quarters of blacks support stronger controls, compared with about half of whites. The poll also found that two-thirds of city dwellers support stronger gun controls, while only about a third of rural residents back them.
inlinecharts1-v1
Suicide and homicide rates among Asian Americans and Hispanic Americans do not reflect the sharp differences seen among blacks and whites.
Gun homicides, especially mass shootings, tend to spark demands for change. Although suicides account for almost twice as many gun deaths as homicides nationwide, they tend to be quiet tragedies, unnoticed outside the hushed confines of family and friends.
Suicide is “absent from the discussion of gun policy,” said Daniel Webster, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research in Baltimore.“The availability of firearms does indeed increase the risk of suicide, but most people don’t see it that way.”
Opponents of gun control counter that some countries with high gun ownership rates, such as Israel, have few suicides and that countries such as Russia, where guns are scarce, have high rates of suicide. The reasoning is that determined people can find a way to kill themselves, although suicide experts say the prevalence of guns allows for impulse suicides that otherwise might not occur.
The most ardent advocate for gun rights, the National Rifle Association, casts the link between guns and suicide as something of a virtue.“Gun owners are notably self-reliant and exhibit a willingness to take definitive action when they believe it to be in their own self-interest,” the NRA wrote in a fact sheet, called “Suicide and Firearms,” on the Web site for the group’s lobbying arm.“Such action may include ending their own life when the time is deemed appropriate.”
I think it is silly to say having a gun would cause "impulse" suicides. Wouldn't a butcher knife also be a source of "impulse" suicides?

the only problem i have with voter ID laws is that it would be a waste of money as just showing an ID wouldn't stop any fraud. the data bases needed to actually prevent fraud with ID use would be prohibitively expensive.
personally, i think we should have a national ID system in the US. then we can more easily track illegal hiring and other abuses of gov't functions. so many other countries have them and have experienced no problems or loss of liberties or freeedoms with their use.
In my state, ones name and addy must appear on a list ( FVRS) to vote in person and one is asked for but not required to show a photo ID. Those whose names are for some reason not on the list can cast a provisional ballot.

There have been some illegals here issued voter registrations cards via Florida Motor Voter clerical errors but it's doubtful that they would actually vote and risk getting caught-deported.

These Republican inspired Voter ID laws are bullchit, many Republican elected have stated as much..

i'm going to an educated guess and say....none.

it's called 'context'. you can't run away from it with FOX inspired cherry-picking.

why is it so hard for you nutjobs to admit that stupid republicans can muck it up just as bad as stupid democrats? you can't point one finger at a dem and say a republican never did the same.

The issue is realtime and woodtick deny that at the ballot voter fraud is occurring.

Thanks for adding to the list of documented cases.

Also your author is a putz and you have nervous breakdowns over FNS?

This is from the HuffPo article

"In the midst of his 2012 GOP primary campaign for a Massachusetts state House seat, Jack Villamaino changed the party affiliation of nearly 300 people in his town of East Longmeadow. Days later, the same number of absentee ballot requests were dropped off at the town clerk’s office, a list that was almost a “name-for-name match” for those whose registration information Villamaino had altered.

Earlier this week, Villamaino pleaded guilty to felony charges of stealing ballots and changing the party affiliation of 280 Democrats during his campaign for state representative. A judge sentenced him to a year in jail, only four months of which he'll be forced to serve behind bars."

There was NO reference to actually casting the ballots-just requesting absentee ballots-so he had more Rep voters in the primary

What he did was WRONG -but your author needs to rein in his exaggerations and you would have been better off if you just used the news source-HuffPo rather than the blog.

If you get rich by providing goods or services that people buy, then more power to you. If you get rich by your talents such as actors, authors or even athletes, fine. I don't even care if you inherited your wealth or married well.
What makes a difference is how and what you do with your wealth. If you increase your wealth by buying up companies, forcing them to take on debt, laying off employees and cutting their benefits like Mitt did with Dade International, then I'm going to have issues with that.
If you increase your wealth by raping and pillaging the environment like the Koch's then there's something wrong.
When you increase your wealth by paying your employees so poorly that they need public assistance to make ends meet like the Walton's, then that's just plain wrong.
It's not as black and white as you want it to be.
You have to stop believing everything you hear from senile politicians who will lie through their teeth and deceive without blinking because of liberal bias and political power, i.e. Harry Reid.

The democrats have made the Koch Brothers the new invisible war this election cycle.

Nevermind George Soros and the unions funding the democrats and liberal causes and how both pale in comparison to the Koch Brothers' contributions.

Harry Reid and your democrats won't bring that up.

The Koch Brothers are philanthropists and fund research for cancer and the arts.

when you register to vote there, do you need to show your proof of citizenship? i know you do not here in MN..all you need is a DL. so if an illegal got a DL or other ID, they could register to vote.

like i said many times, the voter ID laws proposed will do absolutely nothing to prevent all the supposed fraud out there and none of the cases idiots like roxlo are wasting their time digging up. i think so far he has four cases and two of them no laws could ever prevent in any way. the other cases would not have been prevented by just showing an ID.

and all this is still a moot point as we really, really need a national ID program (that is not 19th century like the SSN) in this nation, so every citizen would have that ID anyways.

Voter fraud is real!

A state issue voter ID would have prevented the voter from using it again at another ballot zone. Can easily track if votes were cast by that ID already using an internet program
