General Motors (GM) may have recalled 3.2 million vehicles for everything from ignition switch problems that killed at least a dozen people – to air bag, brake and front impact test defects – but that hasn’t stopped some dealers from selling the flagged cars.

And you might be surprised to know GM is not alone: Selling recalled vehicles that have not yet been repaired is common practice.

Internet searches show that literally thousands of GM vehicles under recall for sale all across the U.S., with many of them listed as “Certified Pre-Owned.” Because the vehicles are used, the dealers are breaking no law.

While federal law prohibits car dealers from selling new cars that have been recalled and not yet repaired, there is no such statute for used vehicles. It is an important caveat for used car buyers and one they should remember: Caveat emptor.

In Florida we have motor voter so "those who apply for or renew" a DL get a photo ID and registered to vote at the same time and of course the program has some problems because it's on the honor system and allows some non citizens a spot on the voting list. Amazing how fkd up laws can get when they are conceived and passed by Republicans eh?
But__here in Florida and else where there a very many elderly citizens who don't drive and/or were born at home thus no "official" BC that can can easily be found and presented as a certified copy. The challenges of obtaining a photo ID cause many of all races and political affiliations to just say "fk this" it ain't worth it. My own father in law, 96 yoa and a straight ticket (R) said that a few years back because he got hassled at his polling place.
Interestingly he gets along very well otherwise with no photo ID. And of course legal citizen/immigrants from third world nations can't produce a BC and must hire attorneys to walk them through the legal quagmire.
Having a photo ID is a roadblock for many good citizens.who have been voting for decades.
Only morons and trolls can't understand that.
Florida requests, but does not require, a photo ID for voting....

Realslime is a lying sack-o-shit....

and the only people who never need a photo ID are those who never leave their house (or nursing home)....

The cretins can't think themselves through even the simplest non-Fox situations.

Should mention that some of these old timers actually have photo ID's but they aren't current.

My father in law, a WWII glider corps survivor took the honor flight a couple of years back, without a current photo ID and walked through the entire memorial without aid.

The minute the racist pieces pieces of chit hear the phrase photo ID their brain takes them directly to some black or Hispanic committing voter fraud. It's like they can't think for themselves.

Apparently you didn't read any of the various articles on the GM ignition problem eh?

The 13 deaths all occurred off road and at high speed. Weird that. And much of the problem has to do with people hanging 2 pounds of bulchit on the key chain. My lovely wife actually does that and has ruined an ignition switch on a Honda.

Not sticking up for GM, Toyota or any other car company that doesn't recognize serious flaws in a timely manner, but the consumer has to be held responsible for their share.

Few know or understand that__the folks at the polling place ask for an ID and then start mumbling to one another about what to do if the voter doesn't have or won't produce one.

You are the biggest lowlife, lying, scumbag on here. For anyone to actually believe that the only reason the Republicans are passing all of these bills and measures is because they are worried about voter fraud is to be beyond stupid, baggers become what Galt is a hating, racist ideology. The Republican party has become so desperate for power, with their constant lying, Pitting one against the other, actually rooting against success for fellow Americans, whether it be healthcare, jobs, women's rights, homosexuals, all foreigners, their own brand of religion. They are sick people and if allowed full power will be the ruination of this country. Hell look at the voice of their party, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, the list of idiots is long and ugly. Then look at all of the psychos on here. Damn how much proof would a person need.

I agree up to a point. There is a political agenda they're trying to push. I posted a couple of examples from the previous election (from Wisconsin no less) where a woman has been voting since the 40's, but was shut out because of no idea. In fact, she even ran a polling facility.

Another was of a couple who moved back from Iowa to Wisconsin. The laws are so convoluted, she couldn't even get to vote even with a valid Iowa ID and having actually been born in Wisconsin!

Talk about full on exclusion and violation of a person's Constitutional rights to the first degree!

An Iraq War veteran who was wounded by police during a 2011 Occupy protest in Oakland, Calif. has reached a $4.5 million settlement with the city, The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Friday.

Scott Olsen, 26, was struck in the head by a beanbag fired by a police officer on Oct. 25, 2011. He was part of a protest against the police clearing of an Occupy Oakland encampment outside City Hall.

did GM warn consumers not to put too much weight on their keychain???...

the fact that the new CEO of GM knew nothing about this problem shows that GM still hasn't learned.....
