Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Seems like we're in a holding pattern of uncertainty on all fronts, both domestic and foreign. With Obamacare, the economy, Russia and Iran, it seems quite tangible - like the entire world is holding its breath.

Does anyone know what's going on with Obamacare?

Is March 31 still the deadline?

Do employers now have to provide employer-based insurance until 2017 or can they still dump employees onto the exchanges anyway?

Are enough people paying their first premiums under Obamacare to get medical care? How many people know they have to?

Will seeing a medical doctor become a rarity under Obamacare and replaced by clinics and nurse practitioners? Are there enough specialists participating or will they be few and far between?

So many questions. So few answers.

The political winds tend to blow in so many different directions these days. And Obama is like a weather vane spinning out of control. We're left not knowing if we're coming or going.

Where the Right Went Wrong: How Neoconservatives Subverted the Reagan Revolution and Hijacked the Bush Presidency
American Empire is at its apex. We are the sole superpower, with no potential challenger for a generation. We can reach any point on the globe with our cruise missiles and smart bombs, and our culture penetrates every nook and cranny of the global village. Yet our beloved America is now reviled abroad, dictated to by arrogant judges at home, overrun by special interests, and buried beneath a mountain of debt. Where the Right Went Wrong chronicles how the Bush administration and Beltway conservatives have abandoned their principles, and how a tiny cabal hijacked U.S. foreign policy and may have ignited a “war of civilizations” with the Islamic world that will leave America mired down in Middle East wars for years to come.At the same time, these Republicans have sacrificed the American worker on the altar of free trade and discarded the beliefs of Taft, Goldwater, and Reagan to become a party of big government that sells its soul to the highest bidder.

Perhaps you weren't paying attention when China launched a few ICBMs right off our coast.
If we snuck a submarine into the waters off Shanghai and launched a few ICBMs in full view of the Chinese people, what would we be telling China?
You're an idiot.
China did not launch missiles from a submarine off our coast.

I can understand why you would not be aware of the two missiles Chinese submarines launched next to the Trident base in Puget Sound off the coast of Oregon, but the Chinese submarine missile launch off the coast of California next to Los Angeles was video recorded by KCBS of Los Angeles.

Chinese submarine launches missile outside Los Angeles photographed by KCBS Los Angeles:

Chinese submarine launches missiles off the coast of Oregon:
http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1723.htm

Don’t you wonder what else you’re not being told?

To sneak a submarine into the waters that close to San Diego Navy Base, it would require having top secret information on our underwater listening system that protects the San Diego Navy Base.

To sneak a submarine into the waters that close to the Trident submarine base at Bangor, Washington, it is a very much more sophisticated detection system protecting the entrance and exit of the Trident submarine squadron from Puget Sound. The breadth of that detection system is confidential, but it is well in excess of the distance the Chinese submarine launched the missiles from off the coast of Oregon.

What the Chinese demonstrated was they have information to penetrate any submarine defense system we have. No doubt that requires real-time information being given to them from someone directly involved with the operation of that system.

We are fish in a barrel today.

We have several radar bases. We have a military prison. We have a few places that don't exist, wink, wink. I have clearance for them all.

That's kind of always been the problem with idealists who want to live in a perfect world.

Those songs were applicable to the Vietnam War. But the turmoil we see today isn't Vietnam and this isn't a perfect world.

No one would have sung those songs during WWII. Singing "give peace a chance" then would have been just as ludicrous as now. Unless singing it to the bad guys. Problem is, idealists don't seem to know who the bad guys are now.

You're starting to sound as stupid as those you axccuse of being stupid!!

What if people in a section of TX or CA or NM want to be part of Mexico?? What if the Arabs in Israel decide they want to be part of Egypt?? Is that OK too??

The same can be said about areas in many nations around the world. National borders are just that, borders that should not be changed by simple demonstrations or imposed by force.

Why isn't there a Kurdistan?? Millions of Kurds ahve fought and died for a state for over a century. But Iran, Turkey, Iraq, and Syria will not allow it to happen. To use your stupid logic "don't they have that right?"

So now you think everyone gets to choose what country he/she wants to be part of, irrespective of national borders.

Sometimes you say some really stupid stuff. Just like those you mock constantly. Pot-kettle??

The leftie loons are right, Putin took Georgia. Maybe because the odds favored Obama winning and the Russians were pretty sure Obama wasn't going to do a damn thing about it ... and they was right ...

Putin is trying to restore the Soviet Empire. So invading the Ukraine was inevitable. He did it when he did because he knows the Obumbler is a coward and won't go to war over Ukraine. War is the only way to stop Russia. IF Russia loses.

If McCain or Romney had won, things would have been different. Putin thinks that he's watching a re-make of that '70s show, and that Obama is Jimmy Carter on estrogen.

Putin goes after the low hanging fruit, which is why the former Soviet states in the Baltic are ramping up their military. You do not want to be a neighbor of Russia and weak.

Carter Is Wrong: Middle Class Not Like Poor 30 Years Ago

Living Standards: Jimmy Carter says today's middle class is living like poor Americans were right after he left the White House. He would have come closer to the truth if he'd said the sun rises in the West.
Speaking Monday from a Habitat for Humanity construction site in Oakland, Calif., Carter, who was president during the dark years from 1977 to 1981, said, "The middle class has become more like poor people than they were 30 years ago."
He also lamented "the disparity between rich people and poor people in America," which he said "has increased dramatically since when we started."
We don't dispute that there are income and wealth gaps — both of which have grown under the current Democratic president. The gaps have always been there and they always will be. No amount of political promises and government policies will change the dynamics of human nature that create these gaps.
But the truth that Carter ignores, the salient fact that will be overshadowed by his useless comment, is that today's poor in America are living far better than the middle class of the 1970s and 1980s.
Think of the modern conveniences that America's poor in 2013 have that the middle class didn't 35 years ago: cell phones, cable or satellite television, wide-screen plasma and LCD televisions, Internet access and personal computers that take them to the Web.
What else? How about dishwashers and air conditioning? These were available in 1980 but not all middle class homes had them.
Today, according to research from Robert Rector at the Heritage Foundation, 40% of poor Americans own a dishwasher and 82% have air conditioning — more than twice the 1970 rate of 36% for all Americans.
Today's poor children — 96% of whom don't go hungry — have it better than their parents and grandparents, who played checkers and cards, and even made up games to play outside. According to Rector, "more than half of poor families with children have a video game system, such as an Xbox or PlayStation."
Simply put, poor Americans in 2010 or 2012 or 2013 not only live better than the middle class of just a few years ago, they also live better than royal families lived not that many decades back.
Former Dallas Fed economist W. Michael Cox highlighted the progress Americans have made in his book "Myths of Rich and Poor: Why We're Better Off Than We Think." His well-taken point is that it takes fewer hours today than it did 40 or 50 years ago to buy houses, cars and other basic big-ticket items most of us have.

You know you are an idiot when you actually believe " dynamics of human nature that create these gaps" does not mean that the dynamic is getting regulations written & tax code formulated to your advantage.

This idea that right whiners have that the GROWTH in the PERCENTAGE of the wealth owned by the wealthy is natural because they just work harder demonstrates just how naive (stupid) right whiners really are.

I don't know where you got that bullshit from. The missile defense system works exceptionally well. It has been tested to spear a 3-foot diameter object on a ballistic trajectory in space half way across the Pacific Ocean from where it was launched.
