I, too, am against legislating human behavior and don't understand why people can't just mind their own business.
Unfortunately, we're already on that slippery slope. The PC police have decided to control the behavior of smokers and socially ostracizing them.
The question is why - considering that alcohol-related deaths trumps smoking-related deaths and these same people are fine with smoking mind-altering marijuana.
Doesn't make much sense. The question again is why?
Smokers hurt only themselves. Alcohol hurts many people including DUI deaths and violence. Trans fatty foods lead to early heart disease and death. Marijuana affects one's ability to function normally.
All of these vices cost taxpayers money. So why are just cigarettes and smokers targeted?
That's interesting because you want the government to have control over womens choices over their own bodies.
My sister died from breast cancer that spread to her lungs after a 15 year fight; she was an athlete and a non smoker. There are no guarantees in life.

Does anyone remember how the Boston police detained a suspect from Saudi Arabia immediately after the bombing, and the FBI took him and sent him back to Saudi Arabia the very next day?
The White House is part of the Islamist terrorist network.

Lung cancer, throat cancer, emphysema, heart disease, coronary disease and more potentially awaits pack a day smokers__and by the way a pack a day is considered light or average.
Frankly I don't care if you light one Marlboro Red off the other and smoke em down to the filter.
MediCare is paying for the lions share of those medicines, oxygen bottles/machines, wheelchairs, scooters and of course the various surgeries and treatments__oh and hospice.
Smokem if you gottem!!!.
So, does it cost less to use those "medicines, oxygen bottles/machines, wheelchairs, scooters and of course the various surgeries and treatments" sooner because you die sooner, or after you lived another 20 years and need them for just soem other effect of old age?
What you seem to be saying is, if you get sick from smoking, you het health care. But, if you just get sick from old age, you won't get that health care.
That will be the way it is with ObamaKare, for sure.

Is there any definition of "corruption" that would satisfy the left?

Or does it only apply to Republican presidents like Richard Nixon?

If a rightwing conservative media hadn't done their jobs - like the leftwing liberal media did then - Richard Nixon would have finished out his second term, no one would have gone to jail, and all would have ended well with no one the wiser.

Welcome to the protected world of Barack Hussein Obama.

Richard Nixon got what he deserved. Thanks to the media doing their jobs. Where the hell are they now?

Healthcare reform was written, voted on, and passed by a majority and signed by the president into law. President was subsequently re-elected after the bill passed. End of story. You don't like it get it repealed.

Welcome to FLA where one of the brilliant (R) legislators has reintroduced a bill that would allow ex-police officers and military vets to carry weapons in the public schools. He see's the arrangement as a way to prevent an event such as Sandy Hook or Columbine.

Sorry GOP, Americans Support President Obamaís Calm Response to Ukraine Crisis
While Lindsey Graham and John McCain would like to see a more aggressive U.S. response, the American people are much more sober in their thoughts. Graham and McCain have never met a war they did not like. However, despite all the chest thumping and beating of the war drums, they have not made their case to the American people. The U.S. public is not receptive to the idea of an American military response in Ukraine. Only 12 percent of Americans polled favor sending U.S. ground troops to the conflict. Just 17 percent would support American air strikes. Even military aid to Ukraine was unpopular, mustering support from a mere 23 percent of those surveyed.
Republicans attempting to make a political issue of the Ukraine crisis should realize that their pleas for aggression are falling on deaf ears. The American people are war weary. Having been hoodwinked into waging a war in Iraq, the public is not particularly interested in engaging in another overseas conflict

If you mean do nothing and go on vacation, I support that. Any time Obama tries to do something, the United States ends up the laughing stock of the world.

Obama just proposed granting O-care exemptions to everyone who voted for him. The hang-up is in proving who really voted for him. Now he's throwing around some sort of voter identification system.

If you get you news from the likes of The Huffington Post and the New York Times here are some stories about Global Warming that occurred in 2013 that you probably never heard of.
1. Antarctic Global Warming Expedition Ship Trapped in Sea Ice. You may have heard about the Russian vessel trapped 100 miles away from land in 10 feet thick ice in Antarctica and how three ice breakers have failed to rescue it. What you may not have heard is this ship is filled with Climate Scientists studying Global Warming. They are comparing data from 100 years ago when there was no sea ice in the same location.
2. Yachts Trapped in Sea Ice in the Arctic Last Summer. You probably didnít hear about all the yachts, sailboats, rowboats, and kayaks that got trapped by sea ice while trying to sail the fabled Northwest Passage. They were promised an ice free passage.
3. Global Sea Ice at Record Levels. Al Gore and John Kerry 5 years ago predicted that 2013 would be ice free in the arctic. You probably havenít heard that the exact opposite came true. 2013 is currently at the second highest volume of sea ice ever recorded and will probably break the all time record before the season is over.
