The Flat Earth model is an archaic belief that the Earth's shape is a plane or disk. Many ancient cultures have had conceptions of a flat Earth, including Greece until the classical period, the Bronze Age and Iron Age civilizations of the Near East until the Hellenistic period, India until the Gupta period (early centuries AD) and China until the 17th century. It was also typically held in the aboriginal cultures of the Americas, and a flat Earth domed by the firmament in the shape of an inverted bowl is common in pre-scientific societies.
The paradigm of a spherical Earth was developed in Greek astronomy, beginning with Pythagoras (6th century BC), although most Pre-Socratics retained the flat Earth model. Aristotle accepted the spherical shape of the Earth on empirical grounds around 330 BC, and knowledge of the spherical Earth gradually began to spread beyond the Hellenistic world from then on.
The modern misconception that educated Europeans at the time of Columbus believed in a flat Earth, and that his voyages refuted that belief, has been referred to as the Myth of the Flat Earth.

The Jewish conception of a flat earth is found in biblical and post-biblical times.

Imago Mundi Babylonian map, the oldest known world map, 6th century BC Babylonia.
In early Egyptian[ and Mesopotamian thought the world was portrayed as a flat disk floating in the ocean. A similar model is found in the Homeric account of the 8th century BC in which "Okeanos, the personified body of water surrounding the circular surface of the Earth, is the begetter of all life and possibly of all gods." The biblical earth is a flat disc floating on water.
The Pyramid Texts and Coffin Texts reveal that the ancient Egyptians believed Nun (the Ocean) was a circular body surrounding nbwt (a term meaning "dry lands" or "Islands"), and therefore believed in a similar Ancient Near Eastern circular earth cosmography surrounded by water.

It's time to start honing in on whether the president and his reelection campaign deceived voters about Benghazi to win an election because this would be a subversion of our democracy.

If the man posing as our president was, in fact, responsible for ordering former CIA Deputy Director, Michael Morell, to change the facts about the night of the attack and sent Susan Rice to five different television networks to deliberately mislead the American people about the facts of that night to win an election, he has to resign. Plain and simple.

General Carter Ham testified under oath that he knew it was a terrorist attack within minutes after it began.

Former CIA Director, Leon Panetta, testified in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee there was no doubt in his mind it was a terrorist attack within minutes after it began.

And when asked directly by Bill O'Reilly in the Super Bowl interview if Leon Panetta had told him it was a terrorist attack when he briefed him on the night it happened, this president danced around the question and never gave a yes or no answer.

Michael Morell and Leon Panetta are the two men who know if this president is responsible for subversion of our democracy and could bring down this presidency.

Time to cut to the chase and expose the Benghazi cover up and expedite this president's resignation.

Right, I'm sure you will be able to round up 2-3 women who against women's rights to their own bodies, who don't believe in equal pay for women, who think the government has the right to rape them with vaginal probes.
You really should try and overcome your fixation with women's vaginas.

Women are much more complex and powerful than the ability to have children and/or kill them in the womb.

"Here comes the Sun" George Harrison once sung...

What do the exerts say about solar arrays for generating electricity?

Well....

"However, as an energy source, solar radiation is relatively dilute. Impressive amounts of (desert) land area would have to be devoted to this use in order to replace fossil fuel supplies. For example, it is estimated that the complete replacement of such supplies in the United States would require total collector fields on the order of 50,000 square miles, about 1 percent of the total U.S. land area"

Jason Collins is a washed out wanna be. He is not a shadow of his former self as a player. He was signed as a publicity stunt. Brooklyn is a sub .500 club going no where. He was signed to stimulate attendance and increased media coverage. My guess he will be released when his 10 day contract expires. I admire his coming out as being gay. That showed courage.
While Collins is honest, there are a good number who participate in all pro sports and college sports and high school sports who are gay.

She'll believe anything World Nut Daily prints. Half truths define her. If you listen carefully, you can almost hear her shrieking, "I shall not lie down without a fight!!”

Remember the interview a while back when Michelle Bachmann said that the CBO estimated "that about 30 million people are going to be cut off their employer health insurance because of Obamacare?” She completely ignored the FACT that the CBO gave that figure as a worse case scenario and the CBO went on to say that "it is equally possible that the number of people on company-based plans might increase by 3 million over that time period because of the new health care law."

A more recent study by the Stanford School of Medicine in September estimated "as many as 37 million Americans who receive health coverage through employers may be better off with insurance from the exchanges and may actually dump their employer-based coverage voluntarily.
