This president is leading our country down the wrong path and we're in serious trouble. If you think it hateful to speak out against his radical and shallow politics to satisfy his hunger for personal glory and party aspirations, putting both above country which got us here, your understanding of hatred is very much distorted and is clouding your logic.
Speaking out against a progressive ideology which is destroying and tearing down the foundations on which this country was built - weakening our economy and our military and unraveling any remaining thread of traditional values - is much different than calling me and others names because you disagree.
But the worst part is you can't see or understand any of this and hate anyone and everyone who tries to point it out to you.
Yes Carol I have issues with hypocrites like you who are anti abortion but don't really care about what happens to these children once they're born or their families. I have issues with people like you who call themselves Christians but reject the Gospel message of social justice. I have issues with people like you who seek to justify their bigotry by couching it in terms like "traditional values".
You may think this country is going in the wrong direction but I think it's a good thing that people who were previously shut out of getting health insurance can longer be denied coverage. I think it's a good thing that patients on long term chemotherapy or dialysis don't get their treatments terminated because of some arbitrary lifetime cap. I think it's a good thing that families don't have to spend money on an additional policy when their children in college or just starting out turn 21. I especially think it's a good thing that in more states citizens are being granted equal rights and protections under the law and no longer discriminated against because of their sexual preferences.
You're giving yourself far too much credit if you think I actually hate you Carol, you're simply not worth the effort it would take and I'd have to take your ridiculous and delusional rants seriously, which I don't.

Q: What do you call a liberal just like you with an IQ of 140?
A: A foursome!
The exisdting law very clearly states the pay for any year will not be less than the previous year.

The Constitution does not give the President the authority to order any contractor to pay any more than the existing law requires.

This is just another case where Obama thinks he's a dictator and can write his own laws.

Why not raise it to a thousand dollars an hour? Then, they will make more than the president of that company.

The founding fathers weren't so stupid they gave the President the authority to steal from government contractors and give it to whatever social class he desired.

It’s unlikely that the senators spent much time poring over financial statements and annual reports. But if they had it might have given them a reason to vote against the president’s wishes. In 2011 these three oil giants each paid more in income taxes than any other corporation in America.

When President Barack Obama took an unplanned stop on the tour of Thomas Jefferson’s home Monday, he joked to French President Francois Hollande,“That’s the good thing as a president -- I can do whatever I want.” The remark made headlines because Obama’s critics have long said he acts like he really believes that.

Among the most recent examples, they cite Obama’s State of the Union declaration that he plans to take policy actions “with or without Congress”-- and this week’s White House announcement that it is delaying another key deadline in the health care law Congress passed in 2010.

Americans say not so fast, Mr. President.

According to a just-released Fox News national poll, most voters don’t think the country’s system of government was designed for the president to act unilaterally, and a majority disapproves of Obama bypassing Congress.

Click here for the poll results.

The new poll finds that 74 percent think the president using executive orders to get around Congress is not how things are supposed to work in our country. That includes 54 percent of Democrats.

Large majorities of independents (80 percent) and Republicans (93 percent) believe it goes against our system for the president to act independently to advance his policies.

Even when asked to set aside their views on how the government is supposed to work, by a wide 60-37 percent margin voters still disapprove of Obama going around Congress.

Almost all Republicans disapprove of Obama acting without lawmakers (90 percent), as do two-thirds of independents (66 percent).

Democrats approve by a 66-31 percent margin.

Overall, about one voter in five approves of Obama's use of executive orders even though they don’t believe it’s the way things are supposed to work.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,006 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from February 9-11, 2014. The full poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

No, they cannot, you moron.
Any law that is vague and ambiguous is unconstitutional, as ruled by the Supreme Court multiple times.
For a law to be constitutional, the average person must be able to read the law and understand what is required and/or prohibited, and it cannot be determined by some arbitrary decision by some president one way, then another way by the subsequent president. The law must be written to not allow this.
For instance, a hypothetical law passed by Congress giving the President the authority to borrow money as he deems necessary is unconstitutional for that reason, as well as the reason the Constitution specifically states in no uncertain terms how money must be borrowed by the government, and it does not give that authority to the President.

You have to be the most ignorant person here. It's close between you and nitdick, though. You two must be attending the same indoctrination sessions.

When tea party favorite Texas congressman Louie Gohmert (R) showed up on the Fox Business Network to talk about how he stood up against President Barack Obama on raising the debt ceiling on Tuesday, he probably didn’t expect a 6-minute reprimand — but that’s exactly what he got.

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs pointed out that 199 Republicans in the House had gone against their own Speaker, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), and voted against a bill to raise the nation’s debt limit.

“What is your thinking, what is your motivation?” Dobbs said, starting the interview with a calm tone.

But when Gohmert launched into an attack on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Dobbs quickly demanded an answer.

“How in the world do you expect the Republican Party to not find itself in the same strategic blind and bind that it was in last year when you guys shut down the federal government?” the host wanted to know.“There comes a time where there just has to be some pragmatism. Go out an win an election, get 400 members, get 100 senators, get a presidency.”

“I don’t expect us not to be in the same bind, and that’s why I was so against what we did here,” Gohmert opined.“If there’s going to be debt ceiling increase, we have got to put some things in there that fundamentally make our system better where we don’t have to keep doing this.”

Gohmert went on to justify his vote saying that Boehner had not kept his promise to reform the tax code in 2006 when George W. Bush was president.

“In 2006!” Dobbs exclaimed.“You are surely aware of the fact that you are a majority in one branch of government!”

“You betcha we are, and no bill gets passed unless the House agrees to it!” Gohmert shot back.

Come on!” Dobbs said.“You know as well as I do that half of the bills you’re passing are pure — and I think I may generous in my percentage — are absolutely political theater because you know they will die in the Senate, you know that a Democrat president will kill them. What do you expect to do when you are in the majority in one branch of government?”

“It seems to me that this is a colossal waste,” he added.

At that point, Gohmert pivoted to hype an effort to audit the Federal Reserve, something that has been an obsession for many tea party supporters.

“I repeat, you are not in control of the federal government,” Dobbs insisted.“I don’t think the American people, with all due respect, can draw the same causal relationship that you do from a government shutdown to the benefit of working men and women, and the middle class of this country. You failed to make such a connection in 1996, you failed to do so last fall!”

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/02/12/foxs-lo...

“I repeat, you are not in control of the federal government,”

“I repeat, you are not in control of the federal government,”

“I repeat, you are not in control of the federal government,”

and the baggers never will be. no one wants nutjob in the WH other than the minority of stupid, who, btw,“are not in control of the federal government,”

“I repeat, you are not in control of the federal government,”

so yeah, i think you're fairly amusing. the Topix jester. and well earned it is.

Federal Law Enforcement Agencies Buy Ammunition

You may recently have seen some in the Internet rumor mill feverishly repeating the obvious truth above, in an effort to stir up fear about recent acquisitions of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security and a number of smaller agencies. The mildest writers have questioned why seemingly mundane agencies would need ammunition at all; more incendiary authors suggest that these government agencies are preparing for a war with the American people.

Much of the concern stems from a lack of understanding of the law enforcement functions carried about by officers in small federal agencies. These agents have the power to make arrests and execute warrants, just like their better-known counterparts at agencies like the FBI.

Meanwhile, it does nothing to help anyone else in this already stagnating economy with weak job growth. It could have an adverse effect by discouraging businesses from hiring more workers.
But this president and his elite inner circle continue to put the cart before the horse. Obamacare and the minimum wage issue could have waited until we had a stronger and more robust economy with people going back to work. Just the opposite is happening because their personal visions and total disconnect is completely backwards.
Hey stupid! The economy will be boosted when people have more income that they'll spend on goods and services. There's absolutely no evidence whatsoever that increasing the minimum wage adversely affects employment. Just the opposite is true. Increased spending in the private sector increases the demand for labor.
We aren't going to have a stronger and more robust economy until people have more income to spend dimwit! The GOP is making things worse at this point by not passing extended unemployment benefits decreasing spending.
