Jon Stewart called out Fox News Thursday night for its reporting on the Congressional Budget Office's latest report about Obamacare.

The CBO issued a report Tuesday detailing that as many as 2 million people could leave their jobs due to the Affordable Care Act for reasons like employees choosing not to work now that they are without previously provided benefits. Many media outlets, however, seemed to overlook the latter part and simply reported that Obamacare is cutting 2 million jobs.

Stewart ran clips of Fox News anchors making that claim.

"The CBO is projecting that this debacle will cost nearly 2 million jobs," Hannity said.

"Is Obamacare killing the American Dream?" another Fox News anchor asked.

"Is this the American way?" "Fox & Friends" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck said. "I'm not sure."

This is how Fox News covered the CBO's report, Stewart said, adding, "There's only one small problem with the apocalyptic predictions from the CBO, in that the report did not in any way say any of those things."

The North Star Polaris is getting brighter

Liberal nutjob Democrats are scheming of a way to make money from this.

They tell fellow liberals it's because of Bush & capitalism.

White House: It's A Good Thing That Obamacare Will Drive 2.5 Million Americans Out Of The Workforce
Yesterday, Washington’s official non-partisan bean-counter, the Congressional Budget Office, dropped a bomb. By 2024, says the CBO, Obamacare will reduce the size of the U.S. labor force by 2.5 million full-time-equivalent workers. That’s roughly triple what the CBO had estimated three years ago.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/201...
Obamabot Commies here love to quote the CBO!
Not this time.
geesh, when ever you take something out of context, you can spin alie. That's not actually what the CBO said. what it did say is that with the ACA citizens will be free to work less (i.e. not work 2-3 low paying jobs) and spend more time with their families....
you know FAMILY VALUES

The part of the CBO's analysis that has drawn the most attention is the agency's revised forecasts concerning the ACA's impact on the labor market. Specifically one sentence: "The reduction in CBO's projections of hours worked represents a decline in the number of full-time-equivalent workers of about 2.0 million in 2017, rising to about 2.5 million in 2024."

CBO chief: Obamacare will help decrease unemployment
Pressed by Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., Douglas Elmendorf, the head of the Congressional Budget Office, says the Affordable Care Act will increa...
Taken out of context, that sentence could be read to say the ACA will be responsible for a loss of 2.5 million jobs over the next decade. However, the report's previous paragraph states, "The ACA will reduce the total number of hours worked, on net, by about 1.5 percent to 2.0 percent during the period from 2017 to 2024, almost entirely because workers will choose to supply less labor -- given the new taxes and other incentives they will face and the financial benefits some will receive." So the phrase "a decline in the number of full-time-equivalent workers" is just a restatement of this in terms of how many full-time workers it is equal to.

According to the report, this decline will come as a result of choices that workers make -- not because of the job cutting. The CBO here is looking at how the ACA will influence those choices, that is, will it create incentives or disincentives for people to work?

You seem to go through life with your eyes wide shut. Like it or not, for the past forty years, tax payers have picked up the tab for those over 65 (the ones mostly likely to have lung cancer, mouth cancer, bladder cancer, heart disease, diabetes, colorectal and liver cancers or some other smoking related disease...even if they haven't smoked for 30 years. I agree, nobody wants the taxpayers to pick up the tab for ignoramuses who smoke knowing it causes cancer but that is the way it is and there is no way around it.

So you still believe you can keep your insurance if you like your insurance and your doctor?
And believe a spontaneous mob angry over a video was the real story behind Benghazi weeks after the attack even though the Senate Intelligence Committee recently let the cat out of the bag?
What do you call those two lies?
Which is worse - covering up an opposing political party's break in or covering up a terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11 leaving four dead?
And which "lying bastard" is worse? The one who lied about being involved with an opposing party's break in or the one who lied to the American people about something as important as their health care?
Politifact dropped the ball on that one. They didn't bother to dig deep enough. Policies were grandfathered under the law, even the really crappy "hope you don't actually get sick" ones which had low premiums but really high deductibles and co pays. Insurance companies were making a lot of money on these even with the low premiums because they weren't paying out a lot. Some parts of the ACA like rebates if the insurance company didn't spend 80% on actual medical expenses and a cap on out of pocket costs made them less profitable so they knowingly decided to make changes which made the policies non compliant and since the changes were made after the law's enactment, no longer grandfathered. What that means is that everyone could retain their plans so long as no alteration was made to those plans by their providers. However, the very minute a provider made a tweak to those plans, they lost the grandfather protection, and compliance with the Affordable Care Act's new standards became necessary. Politifact failed to note the pending lawsuits in California against Anthem Blue Cross, who intentionally rolled their insureds out of grandfathered plans in order to line up their ducks for the 2014 healthcare exchange rollout. The President simply trusted the insurance industry too much and underestimated their craven greed.
You can keep chasing your tail on Benghazi all you want Carol, but there's more evidence that the video was in fact involved either as a reason for the attack or used as a pretext than there is for its playing no part at all. Contrary to your ignorant assertion the Senate Intelligence Committee does admit that there's evidence to suggest the video played a part. But then again, reading comprehension isn't really your strong suit isi it Carol?

When they start removing liquor off the shelves and junk food off the counters, then maybe you would have an argument about "distributing the very poison causing the chronic illnesses they are treating".
CVS refusing to sell cigarettes or even e-cigarettes is a deliberate and politically correct move. It proves how easily people cave to progressively motivated pressure. If more stores do this, the progressive political correctness will have won this battle for control and it's only just begun.
No one gets to decide what must be denied to others when everyone makes their own bad choices that aren't denied to them.
Especially when it's the same progressives who are pushing to legalize drugs that would be accessible to anyone. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.
I see no difference between this and Chik-Fil-A's decision to close on Sundays. It is their right. Just as it is the right of CVS to refuse to sell cigarettes. By closing on Sundays, Chik-Fil-A is not forcing people to go to church. By refusing to sell cigarettes, CVS is not forcing people to stop smoking. There are plenty of other choices available for non-church goers and smokers. The hypocrisy seems to be on your side.

Context, libtard.

Having a safety net for people too old to work is different than cradle to grave welfare for people that don't "want" to work, or people that don't make a lot of money because they made poor decisions in life.

People on Medicare who paid into the system is different than lazy Obama voting welfare mooches.

Helping someone who really needs it is different than subsidizing lazy people.

What about you sedentary fat lazy Democrats that need care for cardiovascular disease?

Now that different, right spaceshot?
