Actually no. The media was once the middle man between the people and those who held the power over us. They once believed neutrality was sacred in journalism and held those in power accountable on behalf of the people.
The liberal media now sets the mind control button for the entire nation. They are the strong arm of the progressives in power. They influence elections by demonizing all opposition and campaigning for their chosen progressive candidate who they protect once in power. They ignore abuses of power and abet those abuses by their silence and distortion of the truth .
They are corrupt simply by aiding and abetting the corruption of power, and liberals now consider this the norm instead of what it really is - mind control.
Whether you understand how dangerous this is or not is irrelevant. History says it is.
Sure Carol, do you believe in unicorns too? Because this "liberal" media you endlessly and ignorantly prattle about is as real as these mythological creatures. Let's look at how your "liberal" media stacks up as far as negative coverage of President Obama:
CBS News coverage was 63% negative.
The Washington Post was 61.8% negative.
USA Today was 59.6% negative.
The New York Times was 57.1% negative.
Businesses act in their own self-interests, and in the interests of their shareholders. Big media companies are businesses --$360 billion worth. They want a cultural, labor, legislative, regulatory, and judicial environment that allows them to maximize profits. But progressive politics are an immediate and tangible threat to their interests. In what alternate universe would big media companies permit a liberal bias in their own programming?! "Liberal media bias" is more than a myth -- it's an absurd lie echoing from media corporations themselves, and resonating with the ignorant among us.
But go ahead Carol keep living in that delusional little world of yours.

PDupont, if you have any doubts about the legitimacy of the liberal news media, watch a press conference when a conservative is in power and compare it to press conferences with this president - on the rare occasion he graces them with one, I mean.
Until just recently, there was more giggling and obedient admiration than hard questions. Even when they had to try and act like real journalists in the midst of one abuse of power after another, they soon forgot the hard questions and went back to the business of ignoring those abuses of power, protecting those abusing the power and swept it under the rug telling us "there's nothing to see here."
Under the same circumstances if Obama were a conservative, they'd be calling for blood. If Nixon had been a liberal, Watergate and Nixon's resignation would have never happened.
It's pretty obvious if you choose to see it.
Once again only in your delusional hate warped mind Carol.
Global News Intelligence consults with media companies to develop intelligence used in competitive markets. Because GNI supplies information to its clients upon which they will build their business strategies, the value of its product depends upon the accuracy of this information. In 2012 GNI was engaged to evaluate media bias in the presidential election, and the 4 th Estate Project was launched. Their evaluation of media bias was based upon two criteria:(1) the number of GOP voices quoted in media vs. the number of Democrat voices quoted; and (2) the percentage of positive and negative sentiments expressed toward each candidate.
Those results, after processing 717 articles and 15,357 quotes, are summarized as follows: ""newsmakers appearing in the media as partisan Republicans are quoted at a 44% higher rate than partisan Democrats. Additionally, the ratio of positive to negative coverage was 17.1% more critical of Obama than Romney." Bottom line? "Our data does not support the thesis of a liberal media bias as it relates to Election 2012 coverage." This insider study actually revealed a very real conservative media bias.
The industry itself encourages you to think that their own programming is biased toward the left. If you accept this lie, you will be less likely to act upon progressive beliefs -- and less likely to act contrary to the interests of the corporate media industry.

The leftwing bias of the American mass media is pervasive and quantifiable.

In a 2004 Pew Research Center study of journalists and media executives, the ratio of self-identified liberals to conservatives was 4.9 to 1.

Although Galt does not approve of government interference in this issue any more than any others, that does not change the fact that abortion is immoral and an indication of personal failure in life.
So if your wife, mother or daughter became pregnant from a rape or she needed an abortion to save her life and she had an abortion, by your logic this makes her "immoral and a personal failure in life".
The fact that you claim that you don't approve of government interference in this issue and yet you support it makes you the immoral and personal failure in life.

I can post a video or a news article of Obama and Hillary at the funerals of those four Americans standing right in front of their families STILL blaming a video.
CIA Leon Panetta and General Martin Dempsey knew it was a terrorist attack within minutes after it began and briefed the president within the first hour of the attack.
Obama did not say Benghazi was a terrorist attack on the Rose Garden the next day. He condemned "terror attacks" in general after recalling the original 9/11 attack.
How can you possibly excuse such obvious deception after Susan Rice, Jay Carney and every prominent democrat repeated the same falsehood about a video following Barack Obama's and Hillary Clinton's lead?
Why don't you do just that Carol? If you could you would have already done so. But once again here's what the Senate report says about the video;
It remains unclear if any group or person exercised overall command and control of the attacks or whether extremist group leaders directed their members to participate. Some intelligence suggests the attacks were likely put together in short order, following that day's violent protests in Cairo against an inflammatory video, suggesting that these and other terrorist groups could conduct similar attacks with little advance warning.[Review Of The Terrorist Attacks On U.S. Facilities In Benghazi, Libya, September 11-12, 2012, U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, 1/15/14]

pretty weak. Huckabee nails the tea party and you start trying to deflect.

On Thursday at the Republican National Committee winter meeting, Huckabee did not name any names, but he sent a clear signal to organizations like the Senate Conservatives Fund, Heritage Action, FreedomWorks and others who are supporting efforts to defeat elected Republicans, such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Just stop it, Huckabee said.

"Whatever differences we have, compared to the differences that we have to the other party, they're small," Huckabee said at a lunch. "And that's why I've asked Republicans, let's stop using the term 'RINO'" -- Republican In Name Only.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/23/huck...

i see no mention of democrats anywhere in anything he said. so chill with the Goebbels propaganda BS. the tea party is all about devaluing anyone who doesn't agree with their radical agenda. can't be denied.

With inequality and economic populism expected to be central to Obama’s State of the Union speech and Dem campaigns in the midterms, expect Republicans to argue Dems are wielding a familiar “class warfare” weapon to distract from the failure of the ”Obummer economy.”

But a new Pew poll digs into public opinion on inequality in a way I haven’t seen before, and it suggests Dems are on solid political ground with this focus. Large majorities think the gap between the rich and ”everyone else” has grown (65 percent) and that government should act to reduce that gap (69 percent).
