Believe it or not, an overly generous clause slipped into the teacher Master Agreement in 1997, basically states that Bay City School Teachers (Michigan) can be caught drunk at work up to five times before they get sacked.[They also] managed to negotiate where they could be caught in possession of, or under the influence of, drugs three times before they lost their job.

Powered by tax increases and deep budget cuts that held spending in check, the federal deficit dropped to $680 billion in fiscal year 2013, according to a Treasury Department report Wednesday that marks the first subtrillion-dollar deficit since President Obama took office.
The deficit is less than half the record $1.413 trillion figure Mr. Obama and President George W. Bush shared in fiscal year 2009, and it comes out to a little more than 4 percent of the economy as measured by gross domestic product.
That is still higher than economists say is healthy, but itís far more manageable than at the height of the recession.
The Treasury numbers show the government achieved a major landmark by cutting overall spending $83 billion, down to $3.454 trillion.
Itís the second consecutive year that overall spending dropped ó a feat the government hasnít managed since 1953 to 1955.
Meanwhile, taxes grew to $2.774 trillion, marking an all-time high and signaling that personal and business incomes are beginning to recover from the recession.

and......
Obamaís Budget: Spending Too High, But Bush Was Worse
Spending growth in Bushís first seven years: 8%, 7%, 6%, 8%, 7%, 3%, 9%.
Spending growth in Obamaís six years: 13%, 6%, 2%,-3%, 5%, 2%.
http://www.cato.org/blog/obamas-budget-spendi...
now tell us what FOX had to say about Bush and his out of control spending.
You forgot to post the other side of the argument in the Washington Post.

White House Budget Director says the credit goes to Obama for raising taxes in the January "fiscal cliff" year.

Republicans say the credit goes to the spending cuts which were the result of the 2011 deal that imposed discretionary spending caps and budget sequesters.

The 2013 deficit figure [$17.1 trillion] would have been worse if the government hadnít borrowed nearly $40 billion from the Social Security trust funds.

So the government borrowing $40 billion from SS trust funds so the 2013 deficit figure wouldn't have been worse is a good thing?

As to the Cato article: "Usually this year [2009] would be assigned to the outgoing president because the new president comes in part way during the year and typically does not make substantial changes to the current-year budget. But Obama took steps to immediately boost spending in 2009, including pushing through the giant stimulus bill.

In Bushís last budget, he proposed that 2009 spending be $177 billion above the 2008 level, but the actual increase ended up being a massive $386 billion. So you can see that Obama and Congress were mainly responsible for the huge spending leap in 2009, not Bush.

(Also, spending has steadily increased under every president for the past five or six decades and, if you look at the little chart, from 2003 to 2007, spending only increased by 0.31 trillion -- and that was after 9/11, two wars and the housing market collapse.

When Democrats took over Congress and the purse strings in 2007, spending increased quite a bit more rapidly until January 2011 when Republicans took back the House.)

A union can ask for any benefit or any language to be included in a contract. Its the School Board's responsibility to represent the interests of the community in the contents of the Master Agreement. Why on earth would any sane person extrapolate from this one example that unions are a problem? Why on earth would any sane person cite language of a 16 year old contract to make any point at all about unions? Why would any sane person take language out of context to make any point about anything?
How desperate are you to be right about something?

Nuc also wants to claim to be female after posting "Vaginas have hard time with facts, all they are mucus secretors" -don't know a female who would post that.

The birth certificate issue came up in 2007 in the early push for the Democrat primary when Hillary was the favorite for the primary and Obama was moving up from fourth to third. The Republican had nothing to do with the Democrat primaries at that point or any time prior to the primary election.

Prove it. When did Democrats get together on the day a Republican was inaugurated to strategize how they were going to sabotage his presidency? When did Democratic members of congress sign an oath to oppose the presidents policies? Links please.
You can't remember? Even though Bush was willing to work with democrats (Obama has never worked with Republicans) the democrats opposed Bush and when the Democrats took complete control of Congress, they along with Obama who was ta junior Senator continued their unpatriotic attack on our country until Bush finally gave in and gave up his spine.

USAsince is aware of this and when confronted with her birther posts during the primaries acknowledged that was his/her standing.

The only way she/he could have become a birther during the primaries is if they received one of the Hilary Campaign emails.

Did not find President George W.Bush to be a great president but did not spend eight years as a troll claiming every rainy day was His fault.

Some of President Clinton's policies seemed to work for the American people and believe he is a good man.

President George H W Bush conducted the first Gulf War well.

Those filled with every day, every post, hatred to President Obama seem trolls ...most likely filled with whining in their personal lives?

Not to hurt your feelings but you are an economic illiterate.
You keep throwing this nonsense out thinking that which was true 5 years ago is not harmful today shows the limits of your knowledge.
You have displayed a true lack of knowledge about what is happening and what stock market pros concerns are.
You can't even install simple software, and you're going to try to bullshit me about the stock market??

You're funny. I've been successfully investing for 20 years and I'm not yet 50. I had a very good year in the market.

What is your involvement in the active markets, how often do you buy and sell stocks??

You cherry pick polls, like Shiller. Are you aware he's been bearish (do you now what that means?) for most of this Bull run in the markets?? Meaning if you followed Robert Schiller, you'd have missed out on about 75% of market gains since Obama became President.

Do you even know what a p/e is?? Or how it is not considered an important thing in today's market? What other economic indicators are you aware of, and what do they indicate? Do you know th ep/e for Google? Facebook? Amazon?

Markets are about visions of the future. And right now, the investing crowd sees a decent future, if not a great one.

Your constantly wishing for a collapse of the stock market indicates you are rooting against America. You'll be happy to see the economy tank.

Why is that?? Why do you hate America??
