<quoted text>More of the Bush legacy. Cause and effect.
After the 2003 invasion of Iraq, violence against Christians rose, with reports of abduction, torture, bombings, and killings. Some Christians were pressured to convert to Islam under threat of death or expulsion, and women were ordered to wear Islamic dress.
In August 2004, International Christian Concern protested an attack by Islamists on Iraqi Christian churches that killed 11 people.[14] In 2006, an Orthodox Christian priest, Boulos Iskander, was beheaded and mutilated despite payment of a ransom, and in 2008, the Assyrian clergyman Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho of the Chaldean Catholic church in Mosul died after being abducted.[13] In January 2008, bombs exploded outside nine churches.[13]
As of 21 June 2007, the UNHCR estimated that 2.2 million Iraqis had been displaced to neighbouring countries, and 2 million were displaced internally, with nearly 100,000 Iraqis fleeing to Syria and Jordan each month.[15][16] A 25 May 2007 article notes that in the past seven months only 69 people from Iraq have been granted refugee status in the United States.[17]
In 2007, Chaldean Catholic priest Fr. Ragheed Aziz Ganni and subdeacons Basman Yousef Daud, Wahid Hanna Isho, and Gassan Isam Bidawed were killed in the ancient city of Mosul.[11] Ganni was driving with his three deacons when they were stopped and demanded to convert to Islam, when they refused they were shot.[11] Ganni was the pastor of the Chaldean Church of the Holy Spirit in Mosul and a graduate from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Angelicum in Rome in 2003 with a licentiate in ecumenical theology. Six months later, the body of Paulos Faraj Rahho, archbishop of Mosul, was found buried near Mosul. He was kidnapped on 29 February 2008 when his bodyguards and driver were killed.[18]
In 2010, reports emerged in Mosul of people being stopped in the streets, asked for their identity cards, and shot if they had a first or last name indicating Assyrian or Christian origin.[4] On 31 October 2010, 58 people, including 41 hostages and priests, were killed after an attack on an Assyrian Catholic church in Baghdad.[19] See October 2010 Baghdad church attack. A group affiliated to Al-Qaeda, Islamic State of Iraq, stated that Iraq's indigenous Christians were a "legitimate target."[20] In November, a series of bombings and mortar attacks targeted Assyrian Christian-majority areas of Baghdad.[20]
Half the Christian population has fled, with an estimated 330,000 to Syria and smaller numbers to Jordan.[13] Some fled to Iraqi Kurdistan in northern Iraq and to neighboring country Iran. Christians who are too poor or unwilling to leave their ancient homeland have fled mainly to Arbil, particularly its Christian suburb of Ainkawa.[4] 10,000 mainly Assyrian Iraqi Christians live in the U.K. led by Archbishop Athanasios Dawood who has called on the government to accept more refugees.. Also since the invasion of Iraq, Assyrian and Armenian Christians have been targeted by extreme Islamic organisations and Arab nationalists.

That's just Iraq. Bush put all Christians at higher risk in that part of the world with his War in Iraq and his policies. It's a wonder there are any Christians left in the Middle East due to his actions.
That's the ticket, Homer. Excuse evil by combating evil.

That's like blaming the enemies of Hitler for combating the greater evil because innocents were killed.

Which world would you rather live in today if Hitler, Mussolini or Emperor Hirohito had not been defeated?

What kind of world will future generations live if the present-day evil is not defeated?

You know the saying "Evil prevails when good men do nothing." Are you saying good men should do nothing? Why are you so eager to blame good men for doing something?

We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

Well Carol since Christianity is in it's very essence liberal then why would black churches be voting against their conviction? It's the right wing so called Christians that have no convictions whatsoever.
Ralph Reed is a prime example. He was up to his neck in Jack Abramoff's casino scandal. On June 22, 2006 the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs released its final report on the scandal.[10] The report states that under the guidance of the Mississippi Choctaw tribe's planner, Nell Rogers, the tribe agreed to launder money because "Ralph Reed did not want to be paid directly by a tribe with gaming interests." It also states that Reed used non-profits, including Grover Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform, as pass-throughs to disguise the origin of the funds, and that "the structure was recommended by Jack Abramoff to accommodate Mr. Reed’s political concerns." The Choctaw tribe of Mississippi needed to defeat a bill in the Alabama State Legislature which would allow casino-style games on dog racing tracks. This would have resulted in competition for their casino business. Reed had recently contacted Abramoff via email, looking for some help in establishing new business.
"Hey, now that I'm done with electoral politics, I need to start humping in corporate accounts! I'm counting on you to help me with some contacts."
—Ralph Reed to Jack Abramoff, via email, November 12, 1998
Reed proposed to Abramoff some work which he and his firm, Century Strategies, could perform. Reed could access "3,000 pastors and 90,000 religious conservative households" in Alabama, as well as "the Alabama Christian Coalition, the Alabama Family Alliance, the Alabama Eagle Forum,[and] the Christian Family Association." Reed would require a $20,000 per month retainer for his services.
Paul Crouch and is perverse "prosperity gospel" is another good example. The Trinity foundation which investigates religious fraud stated;
“Paul Crouch at TBN is the greatest proponent of the oldest heresy in the church — that gain is godliness,”
Pat Robertson is another good one. Speaking of his service in the Marine Corp during the Korean War he stated;
"The Division was in combat in the hot and dusty, then bitterly cold portion of North Korea just above the 38th Parallel later identified as the 'Punchbowl' and 'Heartbreak Ridge.' For that service in the Korean War, the Marine Corps awarded me three battle stars for 'action against the enemy.'"[
However, former Republican Congressman Paul "Pete" McCloskey, Jr., who served with Robertson in Korea, wrote a public letter which said that Robertson was actually spared combat duty when his powerful father, a U.S. Senator, intervened on his behalf, and that Robertson spent most of his time in an office in Japan. According to McCloskey, his time in the service was not in combat but as the "liquor officer" responsible for keeping the officers' clubs supplied with liquor. Robertson filed a $35 million libel suit against McCloskey in 1986. He dropped the case in 1988, before it came to trial and paid McCloskey's court costs. According to a newspaper report from 1986, Robertson confirmed elements of McCloskey's allegations and said that he never saw front-line duty.
Guy's like these are in it for the money and fools like you are only too glad to shovel it out to them.
Mind citing the source? Would be able to give a better response.

seems the queers get it done in a hurry.

give me a break. A&E knew there would be blowback. name one time in the past few years where the kind of statements he made didn't have repercussions.

A&E is in damage control mode. nothing to do with anything but societal pressure. it's not like they're going to lose the mainly republican audience for that show, so money is not the issue. the now accepted norm is the whole reason he was put on hiatus, and here is the proof....

Nonsense!!!

Baldwin repeatedly made homophobe comments.

The worse was telling a known gay

"I would shove my foot up your azzz, but you would probably enjoy it."

Meanwhile, Progressive hypocrites said NOTHING!

The person who was told this protested loudly but GLADD ignored.
