Last winter, shortly after President Obama won his second term in office, many Republicans rallied behind a pair of election-rigging plans designed to make it virtually impossible for a Democrat to win White House again. Though the two plans differ in important ways, the crux of both plans is to rig the Electoral College by requiring blue states to award a significant portion of their electoral votes to Republican presidential candidates — all while ensuring that red states will award 100 percent of their electoral votes to the Republican as well. Though these election-rigging plans appeared dead after a wave of Republican officials came out against them, one of them has just returned to life in California.
On November 22, a man named Hal Nickle filed a proposed ballot initiative in California which would change the way that state allocates electoral votes to ensure that a large chunk of California’s 55 electors go to the GOP, even though Californians consistently prefer Democratic candidates to Republicans. Rather than allocating all of California’s electoral votes to the winner of the state as a whole, as nearly all states currently award their votes, the election-rigging initiative would allocate the states votes proportionally according to the percentage of votes won by each candidate. Thus, if this plan had been in effect in 2012, Mitt Romney would have received 37.12 percent of California’s electors — adding 20 to his overall total.
The trick behind this proposal is that if would only change the law in California, while leaving red states free to award all of their electors to the Republican:

Perhaps all workers should go on a one week strike; I mean everyone, across the board. Refuse to go shopping, buy gas, anything. See what happens then. Can they fire the whole country?
What do you care? Welfare Boobs can't go on strike anyways.

Rush Limbaugh is angry at Pope Francis for criticizing the vast income inequality in the world today. Limbaugh thinks that Pope Francis went too far with the “common man” stuff. Well then, I’m guessing that Rush would REALLY hate Jesus Christ. Not to worry, Rush is never going to meet him.
Stuart Varney at Fox Business News also went after the Pope. Varney says that the Pope is criticizing capitalism because “he wants to influence my politics.” Yes, Stuart, I’m sure that’s true. The Pope wants you to be more mindful of the plight of the poor. But I’m sure you’ll be able to fight off any inclinations in that direction. Of course people who believe in predatory capitalism are going to have problems with Pope Francis. He named himself after St. Francis, the patron saint of the poor. After all, he’s not Pope Rand.

Social Security’s Sham Guarantee
By Michael D. Tanner
May 29, 2005
How many times during the recent debate over Social Security reform have you heard someone refer to Social Security’s “guaranteed benefit”? The AARP says “Social Security is the guaranteed part of your retirement plan.” Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader in the House, touts the system’s “guaranteed retirement benefit.” The liberal activist group ProtectYourCheck.org , headed by former Clinton chief of staff Harold Ickes, is running ads calling Social Security “a guarantee you earned.”
But Social Security benefits are not guaranteed.
They are not guaranteed legally because workers have no contractual or property rights to any benefits whatsoever. In two landmark cases, Flemming v. Nestor and Helvering v. Davis, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Social Security taxes are not contributions or savings, but simply taxes, and that Social Security benefits are simply a government spending program, no different than, say, farm price supports. Congress and the president may change, reduce, or even eliminate benefits at any time.

your logic is sound...however, the majority of people receive back less than they paid in when considering employee contributions, employer contributions, and compound interest over 40+ years...

Recent polling shows that an election wave of anti-ObamaCare sentiment is growing, and it is not only likely to hand the GOP control of the United States Senate, but might wipe out as many as 12 Democrat seats--many of which looked safe just a few months ago!!
