I would far rather give monies to my church rather than the Federal government, I see the results of our giving to folks in need. Mercy, mercy, maybe the kids on the DC hill will get a CLUE pretty soon-and REDO the aca, placing it into givverment social offices where it belongs with the REST of the givverment social services, rather than reaking havoc on the free sector markets and the people thereof, and breaching HIPPA and Constitutional rights on oh so hackable public webs.

I see no positives from the dollars taken from citizens that are pissed away on tax-exempt groups like Catholic Charities to subsidize their "charitable" work. It much better to spend those millions to support social welfare programs than help the Catholic church build up its coffers.

You wouldn't "see" the positives of true charities at work like that splayed around for the world to see (as so much is done these days) because they are done NOT for "stage show" accolades, but rather instead Quietly, for RIGHT reasons in the RIGHT ways.

Racist organizations like the NAACP should not be funded at the public trough, either, boy.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_funds_the_NAACP...

ACORN, another racist organization, was stuffing its face at the Federal trough, too.

LOTS of racist organizations suck the taxpayer dry. Wake up or shut up, baby.

The Department of Education was a payoff by Carter to teacher unions for their support. It was once part of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare where it should have stayed.
The Department of Energy has become a huge federal bureaucracy over the last 33 years and statistics prove it a colossal failure.
And then there was the "malaise speech". It was a rather depressing time. Carter didn't help to cheer us up.
Don't forget his failed military attempt to rescue the American hostages from the Iranian Dipaer-Heads.

Somebody forgot to install "Desert-Style" air filters onto those rescue helicopters.

They crashed from sucking too much sand.

Carter was and still is a global-styled loser.

You realize most of this is simply a list of generalized symptons without having provided any facts showing Carter as a causal factor. So as I suspected, you were not up to the challenge.

First, Carter inherited high inflation from Gerald Ford.

High interest rates were the decision of FRB Chairman Paul Volcker and this, more THAN ANYTHING Carter did, triggered the recession.

Consider this. Reagan liked Volcker so much, he reappointed him. Possible payback for Volcker having sunk the Carter presidency? I think so.

Ask yourself this. Why would Reagan want the same FRB Chairman who caused the economic breakdown (and was key in Reagan's victory)?

Lousy foreign policy? I asked you for specifics and all you do is provide some biased bottom-line verdict. You do know what specifics are, don't you?

Micro-manager? What does that mean? I want facts, hon, facts. Not your ratty conclusions.

Didn't like playing by the rules? Like what exactly? Seems you've forgotten who was responsible for Watergate and Iran-Contra.

Rising energy prices were a result of newly formed OPEC, which was able to manipulate the market by keeping output low.

Stagflation? You're being redundant as this is simply another form of inflation.

Sorry, Carol. Nothing you provide shows a connection between Carter's direct actions and the economic downturn which followed.

And he sure didn't leave behind two unfinished wars and 11.4 trillion in debt.

Now sit in the corner with the rest of the GOP dunces.

Dear Mr. Potus,
Plz just redo everything into a SO much more logical, simple, and FAR more beneficial for ALL of America type plan, and simply integrate this software of the ACA (once it is debugged etc) into the SOCIAL Program offices of the U.S. givvernment as found everywhere-for OPTIONAL h/c choices for the small gap of uninsured folks in America.
IE: No need to fix what is NOT broken, improving such within rational and realistic realms is fine, but there;s certainly NO need to Break anything in order to fix it either!!
THEN, you will have a "winning" plan. No need to "restructure" the whole nation.
Really.
