Ironically, Obamacare might be what was needed to bring us together and to bring an end to the polarization that was dividing us to the point of no return.
More people are going to find they're being dropped by employer coverage next year and more democrats are going to jump ship.
Already, young people and Latinos are turning against Obama.
Like I said, the silver lining.
Not quite two weeks ago this thread was filled with proggies mocking the folks losing their insurance policies. Posters like RealDave, Realtime, and USA swearing up and down these people were a figment of the right's imagination - didn't exist - red herrings.

Good thing the cereal's on the top of the fridge. My usual late night snack. And I'd wake him up to get the milk.

What really bothers me is people like Oprah saying the disrespect for the office is greater just because Obama is an African-American when Barack Obama has shown no respect to anyone in this country who didn't walk in lockstep with his personal vision and ideology after making it quite clear he considered any and all opposition as a threat instead of the two-party system of which he presides over both and that his opposition was the enemy and the only Americans that mattered were his own party and his own base.
When you're the one being demonized and dismissed as irrelevant and blamed for everything that goes wrong with this administration, people like Oprah shouldn't be all that surprised the respect for him or the office isn't so eagerly returned.
And that it has nothing to do with his being black but everything to do with him being disrespectful to half the country.
Her name should be changed to Doperah.

Republicans only had the majority in the House after 2010. They had no majority in either House for four years before that time.

It's up to those who hold the most power to reach across the aisle to include those who represent the other half of the country.

That's the way it's always been done before. Until arrogance and power hunger for a one-party system became more important in 2008.

Obama Continues To Lie About Fascist Obamacare

"Obama acknowledges that his administration is responsible for all the cancellation notices. These old plans are apparently dreadful, what with people getting to decide what coverages they want. The arrogance of Obama’s fascistic socialism is found in the last sentence when he declares government is making “the insurance market better for everyone.” Since when is it the role of government to make the marketplace better?"

Besides, you can't compromise with democrats who don't want your opinion or your input about anything.

Or care if they have your support before passing a major piece of legislation that will affect all Americans - not just pleasing the loyal base - for political gain and glory.

Maybe Oprah figured it was time to pull the dogeared race card from the deck one more time. I think her shame and embarrassment caused by The One's BIG LIE had a lot to do with it.
It's becoming annoying and pathetic. Oprah is fading from the limelight and is just as annoying and pathetic as all the rest.

He should have stuck with "FedEx is doing just fine...it's the post office that's having problems."

One of the only truths that has ever come out of his mouth - and he didn't even know what he said.

In 42 of the 50 states, premiums are much higher, some higher than others.

The libs on here probably think that's a red herring too.

The government does not have the ability or the constitutional role to manipulate the nation's health care system and take on something of this magnitude so this president can feel important and historically relevant.

Because that's all that's going on here.

Arrogance? You mean like all the filibustering reich wingers have been doing?

Most in history, so only more records can be made.

Thank you reich wingers for putting your wants first!

Son, opinions are fine. But reich wing 'my way or the highway' is the epitome of uncompromising.

Thanks for leaving no choice on the table!

In a nutshell? Wrapped up in a neat little package with a bow?

"Democrats controlled the House of Representatives nearly uninterrupted from 1931 until 1995 and won most presidential elections until 1968. Franklin D. Roosevelt, elected to the presidency in 1932, came forth with government programs called the New Deal. New Deal liberalism meant the promotion of social welfare, labor unions, civil rights, and regulation of business."

There you have it.

"Obama’s version of socialism is to have bureaucrats in Washington make all the decisions while business acts as middle managers for the government. Government is the one writing health insurance policies, not health insurers. Government is deciding what goes into those policies, without regard for what the market may demand. Government has even taken over the marketplace itself, limiting where these policies may be sold. You can’t go to the Blue Cross website and buy an Obamacare policy, you have to go to the government to do that. Once you buy a Blue Cross policy, they only act as the middle manager for government bureaucrats."

This is in practice fascism, a version of socialism.

Didn't she recently accuse some shop owner in Europe of racism?

That, I believe, was a case of the shop owner not immediately recognizing her, not immediately bowing down, and not immediately closing the shop to lowly peasants.

What she was really saying is that conservatives were shell-shocked after his election. It was a concept they couldn't handle and it would have been the same had Hillary got the job. So within a month of his election the "tea baggers" were born & that's the way its been ever since. When given the choice of rebuilding the country back up after it was gutted by greed or bringing down Obama. They always choose the later and then try to sell it as patriotism. Organising conservatives into one cohesive unit these days is like herding cats!

And he got other countries involved too...

Talk about going out of his way to get his way....
