State Sen. Ralph Northam (D-Norfolk) defeated Republican candidate E.W. Jackson in the race for Virginia Lieutenant governor Tuesday, according to projections from NBC News and the AP.
Jackson, a Baptist minister, won a surprise victory at the Virginia Republican convention in May. His long history of anti-gay remarks dominated his campaign. He also said that non-Christians were following a "false religion" and said that government programs had done more harm to African-Americans than slavery.
Jackson's comments caused trouble for Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Cuccinelli, who had to repeatedly distance himself from his remarks.
"I am just not going to defend my running mates’ statements at every turn," Cuccinelli said in an interview with the Washington Post. "They’ve got to explain those themselves. Part of this process is just letting Virginia voters get comfortable with us, on an individual basis, personally."
Northam ran an otherwise quiet campaign in comparison to Jackson's eye-popping statements.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) was elected for a second term Tuesday, beating Democrat Barbara Buono in the general election race.

NBC News and the Associated Press called the race for Christie shortly after polls closed in the Garden State.

Polls leading up to Tuesday's election showed the Republican governor with a 20-point lead over his Democratic rival.

McAuliffe wins!

t-p got potted!!!

And Virginian KNOW who caused the government shut down!

"... Cuccinelli had sought to prove that a tea party-backed conservative could win the governorship of a swing-voting state. He brought big-name supporters to the state, too, including Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal - all potential presidential contenders.

Virginia Democrats hoped they were on their way to holding all statewide-elected offices for the first time since 1970 and turning back of the conservatism that has dominated for the past four years under one-term limited Gov. Bob McDonnell. The state's two U.S. senators already are Democrats. Aside from McAuliffe, Democrats also won the lieutenant governorship. The race for the attorney general's office was neck and neck.

(AP) New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie waves to workers at Oasis Pastry Shop during a campaign stop in...
Full Image
The governor's race had turned McAuliffe's way last month partly because of the partial government shutdown. Exit polls conducted for The Associated Press and the television networks found that about a third of Virginia voters said they were personally impacted by the shutdown, and those who were broke for McAuliffe by nearly 20 points.

"Over the next four years most Democrats and Republicans want to make Virginia a model of pragmatic leadership," the Democrat said. "This is only possible if Virginia is the model for bipartisan cooperation."..."

Nice to see the buttinski's Doomberg and Gates waste a couple of million dollars:

Amendment 66: Voters reject big tax hike, school finance

"Voters emphatically rejected a $950 million tax increase and the school funding revamp that came with it, handing Amendment 66 a resounding defeat Tuesday night.

The measure fell behind by a large margin as the early returns were counted, with nearly two-thirds of voters giving it a thumbs-down, and the outcome was clear just a little more than an hour after the polls closed."

Thank goodness everyone hasn't taken leave of their senses.

Yep that Tea party GOP have really got their act together along with the NRA. Voices in the wilderness and its getting pretty lonely out there.

Terry McAuliffe has an F rating from the NRA. Yet he still won in red-state Virginia. How did it happen?

One reason is that Cuccinelli simply alienated too many voters with his socially conservative stances.

You might think those social issues overshadowed gun control, but actually gun rights took center stage late in the race - and McAuliffe still won..

Making McAuliffe's victory even more shocking is the fact that he faced down huge spending by the NRA supporting his opponent. In gun-friendly Virginia is the fact that the NRA poured half a million dollars into making sure everyone knew McAuliffe was a gun-grabber.

A Christian Government is Expected for Our Christian Nation
In the first extensive commentary on our Constitution, Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story explained that the First Amendment means Christianity only, not other beliefs. This is the intent of our Christian Founding Fathers. Justice Story’s popular 1833 work was reprinted for 72 years. He had been on the Supreme Court since 1811 and he wrote:

“The real object of the First Amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance Mohammedanism, or Judaism, or infidelity [secularism], by prostrating Christianity, but to exclude all rivalry among Christian sects [denominations] and to prevent any national ecclesiastical patronage [of one Christian denomination only] of the national government.” Joseph Story, USA Supreme Court Justice

Our Founders made America a covenant Christian nation “to all generations”(Jamestown Settlers). As Christians, God expects us to obey Him. George Washington boasted that public schools taught “the religion of Jesus Christ” and he proclaimed for all Americans to fast and pray to the Lord. He ordered the military to attend Christian church services. He wanted God to bless the USA and court martialed homosexuals from the military. John Adams said,“The Christian religion is, above all the religions…” Thomas Jefferson established Christian church services in the USA Capital and used “In the year of our Lord Christ” as a Presidential signature.

While God calls men to lead the USA, the Bible shows that if there isn’t a God fearing man, then a God-fearing woman can be chosen as in the book of Judges when Deborah arose, judged and led the people to victory.

Consequences of Voting for Ungodly People
Voting for non-Christians (Mormons, Muslims, Buddhists and others), or people who just say they are Christians but don’t rule in the fear God, results in God’s Judgment. The Holy Bible warns:

“Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? Therefore the wrath of the LORD is upon you.” 2 Chronicles 19:2

To have God’s blessings, will you follow this Biblical Christian voting guide and vote for leaders who rule in the fear of God?
- See more at: http://www.usachristianministries.com/christi...

I DO NOT BLAME THE GOP OR DEM ANYMORE FOR ALL THE
EVIL IN USA!
I BLAME THE SO CALLED CHRISTIANS THAT GO TO CHURCH
EVER SUNDAY AND THEN GO TO THE POLLS AND VOTE FOR
UNGODLY PEOPLE!!!!!THEN YOU HAVE THE CHRISTIANS THAT DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO VOTE..........

Wow, you are actually claiming Christie's win as a win for the Tea Party???

You fricken morons threw him under the bus when he was traveling around with the President, thanking the present & praising him for his actions after Sandy.

You hated him when you ripped your hero Rand Paul a new one.

Christie won that big for only one reason - he is about as far from you Tea Party morons in the theRepublican party as you an get. He attracted Democrat voters.
