The Stranger
A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family.
The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on. As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche.
My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the stranger... he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies.
If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.
Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet.
(I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)
Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them.
Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home - not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our long time visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush.
My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol but the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly, and pipes distinguished.
He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing.
I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave.
More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first. Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures.
His name?....
We just call him 'TV.'
He has a wife now....we call her 'Computer.'
Their first child is "Cell Phone".
Second child "I Pod "
So your father was carrying on a gay affair with this 'stranger'.

Big deal. Bet your mother knew about it from day one.

You, of all, should be a huge supporter of gay rights.

For your Dad's sake.

Or will it be the sheer disaster of E.W. Jackass, the 'Uncle Remus' of Repugnant politics??

Either way, you Teabags are toast.

Seems like you are the one making excuses. Three years to prepare for implementation and Obamacare implementation is a major flop. Never saw that one coming.

Obama thinks he can make popular speeches latent with false and misleading arguments and just walk away. Everything will just fall into place. He has to be worst administrator ever. He failed to oversee his supposed landmark legislation, the most important issue on his plate. With no management or oversight, he claims he was just clueless and now he is appalled, what a joke.

ENDA Vote: Senate Clears Major Hurdle On Bill Barring LGBT Workplace Discrimination

"WASHINGTON -- The Employment Non-Discrimination Act cleared a major Senate hurdle Monday evening, virtually guaranteeing its passage on a final vote later this week.

In a vote of 61-30, the Senate moved to end debate. Not a single senator took the opportunity to give a speech opposing the bill when it came to the floor.

Fifty-four Democrats voted for cloture, joined by the two Republican cosponsors of the bill -- Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)-- as well as Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).

ENDA would make it illegal to discriminate against someone on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. It is already illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, nationality, religion, age or disability."

Talk about baloney. House Republicans sent over nearly a dozen resolutions to the Senate to fund all government departments.

You do know it was just a partial shutdown and only a small percentage of the government was defunded...the same percentage Republicans tried to keep funded but Senate Democrats wanted someone to blame instead of looking out for the folks.

What America Pays In Taxes
by LAM THUY VO and JACOB GOLDSTEIN
April 13, 201211:21 AM

Last year, the federal government collected $2.3 trillion in taxes. Most of that came from two sources: Individual income taxes and payroll taxes.

Source: Tax Policy Center
Credit: Lam Thuy Vo / NPR
Payroll taxes are deducted automatically from your paycheck, and paid in part by employers. Payroll taxes fund Social Security and Medicare.

Individual income taxes are what everybody is scrambling to file right now. Individual income taxes pay for most of what the government does other than Social Security and Medicare.

Quick rundown of the others: Estate tax comes from large inheritances; corporate tax is paid by corporations (obviously); and "other" includes customs duties, excise taxes on products such as gasoline, and everything else.

$2.3 trillion in taxes!!!!! Could you imagine the economy if just half of that was left in the hands of the people who earned it??????????

Maybe this will help you understand it better.
Its no secret that Progressives have hijacked the educational system.

We went from teachers directly teaching subjects to group think with an emphasis on feelings.

Facts have been replaced by political correctness and social engineering.

Teachers are no longer permitted to be authority figures but are now facilitators who are there to push a social agenda with contraception being more important than math.

Students can't read documents written by our Founding Fathers (i.e. the Declaration of Independence) if they don't learn cursive writing. Isn't that convenient?

The focus on American heritage, history and national sovereignty has been replaced by diversity, worshipping of multi-culturalism and revisionist history that "feels good" and treats all cultures as equal.

Equal opportunity has been replaced by equal outcome--every student gets a trophy when evaluations are subjective and social promotion is the norm, as passing grades are lowered.

This produces the Occupy Wall Street types who owe massive debt and are working at Starbucks, if working at all. And have zero tolerance for opinions that differ from their lib indoctrination.

Like this: Ray Kelly can't speak:
'A lecture by New York City Police Department Commissioner Raymond Kelly scheduled for Tuesday afternoon was canceled after protesters halted Kelly’s speech and would not yield the floor.

Controversy preceded the talk — titled,“Proactive Policing in America’s Biggest City”— due to its speaker’s staunch support for the contentious stop-and-frisk policy. The event was presented by the Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions as part of the Noah Krieger ’93 Memorial Lecture series.'

Funny how one of your buddies claims there was no shutdown. And you say nothing. So was there a shutdown, and if so, why don't you question Dweeb and his obvious insanity??
This is why you Teabags are destined by God to be losers. Half of you inhabit a parallel universe, where up is down, in is out, ignorance is wisdom, and losing is winning.
So long as you nitwits have folks like Dweeb, who do nothing but make up outrageous lies and repeat them daily, denying reality that 99.9% of Americans believe in, you will lose elections and standing among actual patriotic Americans.
BTW, notice how the 'Empire Strikes Back'?? Mainstream Repugnants are on full offense to dismantle the Teabags. Rmoney already called Commie Cruz an unelectable foreigner. Randy Paul is in big trouble for plagiarism. The Teabag Party is over. What ever happened to the whiny quitter from Alaska??

Ken Cuccinelli's loss in VA today will be in no small part a direct result of the Repugnant Gov't shutdown.

Lots of Gov't workers in VA were seriously hurt by the shutdown that your buddy Dweeb denies ever happened.

Funny you don't dare call him out on his insanity. Why is that, Carol?? Instead of correcting your lunatic buddy, you come here to argue that the shutdown was Obama's fault.

That makes you as crazy as Dweeb.

I don't expect you to understand, you are a government lemming. Government can't do things efficiently (or correctly), healthcare.gov us a perfect example.
