<quoted text>Yeah GP's, family docs who can get away with it. Actually it's a pretty good way to go if one wishes to serve a neat, tidy and well heeled patient load.
Don't look for the "specialists" to follow suit though, without insurance they'd go broke.
Lois Lame was going on about Nixon's health care reform earlier in the week__this is from the In His Own Words piece:
"Across the nation the average cost of a day of hospital care now exceeds $110. The average cost of delivering a baby and providing postnatal care exceeds $1,000. The average cost for treating terminal cancer now exceeds $20,000."
Those are paltry prices compared to today's costs and perhaps that was the better time to put reigns on the beast bust it didn't happen. Through, Ford, Carter, Reagan, and Bush I health care reform was basically ignored. Clinton took a quick shot at HC reform but never got serious and Bush II was preoccupied to fk with it.
Obama rightly saw HC reform as a now or never project__good for him.
even in the case of major surgery, the physician charges are very minor in comparison to the hospital charges...

I wonder about this kids future; on the one hand I think he had the right to defend himself against his abusive father and then on the other I wonder who would take care of him? I hope he gets the help he needs. His father was a monster.

The note that 23-year-old Paul Ciancia carried with him as he charged into Los Angeles International Airport and opened fire on Friday reportedly referenced right-wing conspiracy theories amid homophobic rants about former Department of Homeland Security director Janet Napolitano and other government officials.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a law enforcement source confirmed that he note contained racist, homophobic and sexist slurs aimed at government officials, security agencies, liberals and racial minorities.

Raw Story noted on Friday that police reported that Ciancia was carrying a document that referred to the “New World Order,” a favorite phrase of the conspiracy-minded right used to describe an amorphous group of world elites who seek to impose one world government on all people. Both Alex Jones and Glenn Beck have included the phrase in their rantings.

Good point; however in Canada, the government negotiates the price of drugs. Many Americans buy their drugs from Canadian online pharmacies.
Are you in favor of price controls on pharmaceuticals by the government?

The economic times we live in can be traced all the way back to the Reagan-GHW Bush years.

When Carter left office, the national debt was at .9 trillion.

After twelve years of Reagan and GHW Bush, it stood at 4.1 trillion.

Under Clinton, the debt increased by only 1.6 trillion over an eight year period. And Clinton left office with a balanced annual budget. I'll give Republicans some credit for that.

Then came GW Bush...

After eight years, the debt increased from 5.7 to 11.4 trillion. ADD to this the immense bail-outs caused by CDWs (credit default swaps) and the collapsed real estate market.

All that borrowing and bail-out came during the GOP watch.

The FBI warned Congress in 2004 that bad bank loans would result in a financial crisis. The GOP, which was the MAJORITY PARTY, did nothing.

So here we stand.
