During her testimony before Congress Wednesday, Secretary Sebelius claimed, "The website never crashed. It is functional, but at a very slow speed and very low reliability.”

Just minutes before Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was set to testify on Capitol Hill, the Healthcare.gov site crashed. Spot checks verified that the State of North Carolina, Virginia, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, New York, Maryland, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, and New Hampshire are all down - which likely means the entire federal site is down.

The site was still down thirty-minutes into Sebelius' testimony.

Sebelius testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee Wednesday as the focus of the ObamaCare rollout debacle shifted from the faulty website to the fact that millions are losing the health insurance President Obama repeatedly, and over two presidential elections, promised them they could keep. CNN also reported Tuesday night that the Obama Administration was warned a month in advance that the site was not ready to launch.

Most of Fox's guests are Democrats, dumbass.

Obama declares he's running for president
POSTED: 1:32 p.m. EDT, May 2, 2007
SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (CNN)-- Sen. Barack Obama stood before a cheering crowd in his home state Saturday and announced he will seek the 2008 Democratic nomination for president.
Invoking the memory of fellow Illinoisan and the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, the first-term senator addressed thousands packed into the Springfield, Illinois, town square on a chilly day in America's heartland.
Coincidence? I din't think so!!!
Wow. Nominated for dumbest post of the year award, possibly the decade. You are blaming the Bush Depression on Obama announcing his plan ot run for president.

Fascist Obama tells insurance companies to shut up, if they know what’s good for them.

More thug tactics from a White House that is no stranger to them, as CNN reports insurance companies have been warned to dummy up about the ObamaCare disaster if they know what’s good for them.

During a segment on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 last night, Griffin revealed that insurance companies had been told to “keep quiet” about the fact that millions of Americans are being told that they cannot keep their existing policies, contradicting Barack Obama’s promise that,“If…you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan.”

“Basically, if you speak out, if you are quoted, you’re going to get a call from the White House, pressure to be quiet. Several sources tell me and my colleague Chris Frates that insurance executives are being told to keep quiet,” said Griffin, adding,“Sources (are) telling us they fear White House retribution.”

Cedric Muhammad: Are Conservatism and Liberalism Morally Equivalent?

Avi Tuschman: The purpose of Our Political Nature is to look at the puzzle of political orientation through the dispassionate lens of science. The central question here is why our populations have great variations in personality traits that predispose people to have particular political leanings. The book concludes that our ancestors’ political personalities helped them survive and reproduce successfully over thousands of generations. These personalities traits, in their variations, were instrumental in the regulation of inbreeding and outbreeding. These dispositions helped them mediate biological conflicts between parents, offspring, and siblings. And their moral emotions also balanced various types of altruism against self-interest in countless social interactions. In some types of social or ecological environments, more extreme personality traits were adaptive. In most cases, moderate personality solutions proved fit.

Today we live in increasingly interconnected and globalized societies, and we have to find policy solutions to extremely complex issues. And yet many people’s political biases, which have ancient roots, cause them to have knee-jerk reactions to complex issues. Some people think that conservative solutions are always better, while others think that liberal solutions are the only ones that make sense. In reality, each policy problem is complex and unique. We should try to be as precise and scientific as possible in studying the effects and implications of different policy solutions. We must guard against being driven primarily by ideology. And when we have arrived at solid conclusions, we may nonetheless have to have a civilized dialog about how to make priorities.

So, now you speak for all Europeans! Tell us which countries are going to completely change their healthcare systems to one like ours? You're insane. Our system sucks Carol, it always has.
From Forbes, Sept 14, 2013 - written by a Brit about nationalized health care (NHC) in the UK:

"...The one thing that socialised medical systems are not very good at is being responsive. The idea that treatment would start within a week has been, for most of the time the NHS has been in existence, and absurd hope not a reflection of reality. While things have got better, specifically for cancer treatments, it’s not unusual to find people being asked to wait 8 or 12 weeks before a course of treatment does start. And there are certainly cases where the delay in treatment has led a cancer to move from being treatable to being terminal.

...it’s not that the government doesn’t pay for medical treatment: it’s that the government does pay for medical treatment but will not pay for expensive medical treatment.

...even if you’ve been paying in your taxes religiously for 30 years, if your disease costs more than $45,000 to treat to give you another year of decent life then you’re just plain out of luck.

There is of course an alternative here: you can do just what White does (in Breaking Bad) and go private. That $90,000 treatment, if you can raise the money (presumably without cooking meth) can be bought on the open market even if the tax administrators have abandoned you. However, back in 2008 when the show started there would have been a little oddity to the system. Fortunately this has now been changed but it most certainly was true back then.

If you go private for treatment for a disease then the NHS will withdraw all taxpayer funded treatment for that disease.

It’s actually happened too: people have wanted to try out some very expensive cancer treating drug that the NHS will not pay for. So, they go private to gain access to that particular drug. At which point the NHS withdraws all treatment for that cancer. No visits even to a GP for monitoring, certainly no access to the public hospitals while the treatment is being given.

No, you must enter the private medical system entirely and wholly if any part of your treatment comes from that private sector.

Meaning that White’s financial situation would have been worse under the NHS than it was under the more free market US system.

Under the NHS White would have been offered, upon the receipt of that incurable lung cancer diagnosis, palliative care until his death. Fortunately the NHS does offer decent drugs, as many opiates as one might need. The actual final part, death, would probably not have been in a hospital but in a hospice. Hospices are not part of the National Health Service, they are purely private and charitable organisations: they are not paid for from tax revenues.

And that’s pretty much what would have been offered.

If White had wanted to try an expensive treatment from the private market, one that the NHS did not offer (as with his HMO in the TV show) then not only would White have had to pay that treatment directly, he would also have had to pay for all of the NHS treatment that he had already paid his taxes to receive. Including, for example, that palliative care and those opiates if the treatment did not work.

But the important point I want to get over here is that White would not simply have had all his treatment paid for under Britain’s NHS system. The expensive treatment he desired simply would not have been available from the tax paid system at all. And if he had bought it privately then all of the other treatment from that tax paid system for his lung cancer would have been withdrawn."
