Another intelligence official, who asked for anonymity because he wasnt authorized to discuss the matter, said allies spy on each other all the time. Pointing to Frances angry reaction to this weeks reports, he said he wished he knew the French word for chutzpah -- a Yiddish word that means nerve or audacity.

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.
This story has been republished here
Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC NEWS that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a cancellation letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies dont meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience sticker shock.

None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be grandfathered, meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they dont meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date -- the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example -- the policy would not be grandfathered.

'We're Really Screwed Now': NSA's Best Friend Just Shivved The Spies
Posted By Shane Harris, John Hudson Monday, October 28, 2013 - 7:21 PM Share
One of the National Security Agency's biggest defenders in Congress is suddenly at odds with the agency and calling for a top-to-bottom review of U.S. spy programs. And her long-time friends and allies are completely mystified by the switch.
"We're really screwed now," one NSA official told The Cable. "You know things are bad when the few friends you've got disappear without a trace in the dead of night and leave no forwarding address."
In a pointed statement issued today, Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Dianne Feinstein said she was "totally opposed" to gathering intelligence on foreign leaders and said it was "a big problem" if President Obama didn't know the NSA was monitoring the phone calls of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She said the United States should only be spying on foreign leaders with hostile countries, or in an emergency, and even then the president should personally approve the surveillance.
It was not clear what precipitated Feinstein's condemnation of the NSA. It marks a significant reversal for a lawmaker who not only defended agency surveillance programs -- but is about to introduce a bill expected to protect some of its most controversial activities.

5 more cannons raised from Blackbeard's ship off N.C.

A small arsenal of guns covered the deck of the Coast Guard Cutter Smilax this week after a mission that seized a few pieces of history.
Five cannons were raised Monday from the Queen Annes Revenge shipwreck site at Beaufort Inlet, the most recovered at one time from the wreck considered to be Blackbeards flagship.
Today is definitely a red-letter day: five guns coming off the site, said David Moore, who has been a member of the QAR team since recovery efforts began.
The five concretion-covered cast iron cannons averaged about 2,000 pounds each and are among the largest of the guns recovered from the shipwreck site. They fired six-pound cannons and were used in defense of the Queen Annes Revenge, which sank after running aground nearly 300 years ago.
The QAR team of researchers has identified nearly 30 cannons at the site and the ship may have had as many as 40 heavy cannons on it when it sank.
With the five raised Monday, 22 cannons have been recovered from the site.
The recovery Monday was the last opportunity for bringing up the artifacts with this weeks close of the 2013 fall dive expedition at the shipwreck site. For the heavy lifting, the crew of the Smilax stepped in to raise each cannon out of the water and onto its deck, where they were readied for transport to the QAR conservation lab in Greenville.
The Fort Macon-based Smilax is the oldest ship in Coast Guard service and holds the title of Queen of the Fleet.
Smilax Commanding Officer Scott McAloon said Mondays mission was a unique opportunity to see history recovered from the ocean and for the Coast Guard to partner with other agencies to accomplish the project.
Its a great day for North Carolina and a great day for the Coast Guard to have this opportunity, he said.
For Kimberly Kenyon, who began working at the QAR lab as a conservator earlier this year, it was her first trip to see cannons raised from the site.
Its exciting to be dealing with something so historic and significant. Its a big day for North Carolina, she said.
In addition to the cannons raised, two large concretions were raised Monday that include cask hoops and other artifacts.
Earlier in the fall dive, two smaller cannons were raised. Kenyon said several timbers, including a 7-foot piece of the ship, were also recovered.
As the fall dive came to a close, the QAR team remained optimistic that full recovery will be possible next year.
Were going to continue excavating the site and have it completed by 2014, Project Director Billy Ray Morris said.
An extensive Queen Annes Revenge exhibit can be seen at the N.C. Maritime Museum in Beaufort, the official repository for artifacts from the QAR site.

The John Kerry Republicans
During the 2004 presidential campaign, John Kerry was widely ridiculed when, in discussing Iraq and Afghanistan war funding, he declared,I actually did vote for [it] before I voted against it.
Well, now 50 House Republicans can say the same thing about their votes on the National Security Agencys (NSA) terrorist surveillance program.
Just over two years ago, on May 26, 2011, the House passed the 2011 Patriot Sunset Extension Act, which specifically reauthorized Section 215, the provision that underlies the NSAs telephone metadata program. The House approved the bill by a comfortable 97-vote margin, with almost the entire GOP caucus 196 Republicans voting in favor.
Last week, it was a very different story when the House voted down an amendment by Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) that would have killed this vital intelligence program. The program survived by just seven votes. What changed? This time around 94 House Republicans voted against the NSA program including 50 who had voted to authorize the exact same program two years before.
It is not as if they did not know what they were voting for back in 2011. Every member of Congress was offered a briefing back in 2011 both in person and on paper on the classified details of the telephone metadata program. As CNNs Jake Tapper recently reported,All House members were invited to be briefed on Section 215 of the Patriot Act, including principal-level briefings for the House Republican and House Democratic Caucus briefings in May 2011. Members were also given access to classified white papers about the telephone metadata by then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-Tex.). As one NSA official told me,Members and staff had multiple opportunities to be briefed on the program by intelligence community officials.
The fact is, they were right the first time. The NSA asked Congress to approve the telephone metadata program in order to close a specific gap in our intelligence capabilities one that made the 9/11 attacks possible. In the summer of 2001, the NSA had intercepted calls from two of the 9/11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar to an al-Qaeda safe house in the Middle East whose communications were being monitored. However, because the NSA did not have access to metadata on U.S. telephone calls, intelligence officials had no way to know that the two hijackers were in the United States and that their calls had originated in San Diego. As former NSA director Mike Hayden recently pointed out,If the metadata program had been in effect in the summer of 2001, al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar would likely have been rolled up, the plane that hit the Pentagon would not have had these jihadists available for the hijacking, and the entire 9/11 enterprise might have been scrapped by al-Qaeda.
Had the Amash amendment succeeded, it would have put the NSA right back where it was on Sept. 10, 2001. Amazingly, 40 percent of House Republicans voted to do just that.

Flacktard usus this as an excuse so as to make him seem like a caring person because people are not hurting because of the high cost of health insurance.
Flacktard knows that going to the ER is not healthcare. Healthcare is regular check up & regular monitoring of a persons over all well being by a family doctor.
The truth is Flacktard would run over 5 year old kids if it might save him a buck in taxes.

President Obama lied to us.
It wasnt a white lie. It wasnt a fib. It wasnt a half truth. It was a bold-faced lie.
No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise, President Obama told the American Medical Association in 2009.If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.
That statement turned out to be a lie. Period.
On Thursday I asked my Facebook community if they had faced hardships as a result of ObamaCare.
The response was overwhelming. I received nearly 1,000 replies from small business owners, nurses, doctors, electricians, stay-at-home moms, and military personnel. Every single person said they had been adversely affected by President Obamas signature legislation.
President Obama also promised us that we would be able to keep our doctor. Another lie.
So lets break down the presidents lies.
Thursday he told an audience in Largo, Maryland that the Affordable Care Act had not hurt jobs.
There's no widespread evidence that the Affordable Care Act is hurting jobs, he said.
Investors Business Daily reports that as a direct result of ObamaCare, more than 300 companies have either eliminated jobs or reduced full time jobs to part time jobs. Hospitals across the country are firing staff and reducing work hours.
Janet Blanck owns Country Blossom Florist, a small shop in Gilbert, Ariz. She tells me that as a result of ObamaCare shes had to lay off three employees.
At one time, she employed eight people. Those who were not let go now work part-time because of rising insurance costs.
Obama is killing us, she told me.It breaks my heart to have to do this. I have to protect what I have built and this is the only way that I know of to get around this law and still stay in business.
President Obama also promised us that we would be able to keep our doctor. Another lie.
Several hundred of you, like Joel Keefauver, wrote to tell me that your doctors were either shuttering their practices or shedding patients.
Under the forthcoming Affordable Care Act and new healthcare regulations, I will no longer be able to provide the quality of healthcare you have come to expect and that I believe is proper, the doctor wrote in a letter to Keefauver. The increased cost imposed by complying with these new laws, along with decreasing reimbursements, creates a financial burden that is unsustainable for my solo practice.
DiDi Henrys elderly mother recently moved from Alabama to Louisiana. She has been unable to find a doctor willing to take Medicare patients.
Several doctors told her that they just arent taking Medicare patients because of ObamaCare, she told me.
The president also told us ObamaCare would make health insurance affordable? Another whopper.
Business owner Sheila Frey tells me her insurance rates have increased by 46 percent. Her small family-run company is paying $2,000 a month for coverage.

Really Carol? He's mentally unbalanced because he has the courage to say things that others just hide inside their thought bubbles? His resume is every bit as impressive as Benjamin Carson's .
Grayson worked his way through Harvard College as a janitor and nightwatchman, and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts summa cum laude degree in economics in 1978. After working two years as an economist, he returned to Harvard for graduate studies. In 1983, he earned a Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and a Masters of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Additionally, he completed the course work and passed the general exams for a PhD in government. While in college Grayson was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Grayson wrote his masters thesis on gerontology and in 1986, he helped found the non-profit Alliance for Aging Research in Washington, D.C., and served as an officer of the organization for more than twenty years.
Grayson worked as a law clerk at the Colorado Supreme Court in 1983, and at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals from 1984 to 1985, where he worked with two judges who later joined the U.S. Supreme Court: Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia. He was an associate at the Washington, D.C. firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson for five years, where he specialized in contract law.
In 1991 he founded the law firm Grayson & Kubli, which concentrated on government contract law. He was a lecturer at the George Washington University government contracts program and a frequent speaker on the topic. In the 2000s, he worked as a plaintiffs' attorney specializing in whistleblower fraud cases aimed at Iraq war contractors. One contractor, Custer Battles, employed individuals who were found guilty of making fraudulent statements and submitting fraudulent invoices on two contracts the company had with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. On behalf of his clients, Grayson filed suit under the False Claims Act and its qui tam provisions. The jury verdict was more than $13 million, which was upheld on appeal in April 2009. The case remains the only successful prosecution of those who profited illegally from the war in Iraq. The Iraq war contractor fraud case brought Grayson his first national attention.
Dr. Carson's statements equating marriage equality with pedophilia and bestiality show him to be a right wing extremist who wants the government to enforce his own narrow views on the rest of the population.

I keep playing that over and over in my head: that you can keep your health plan, period, said Terri Flay, a Manassas, Virginia, woman whose policy is being canceled, referring to Obamas pledge. But it isnt period. They put a gun to my head saying that I have to pay more because I need the health-care insurance.

Health care is going to the doctor? yep--they brainwashed all Americans to believe that. It started in the Clinton administration when all the drugs started flowing. You don't need to go to a doctor if you truly have good health. How many pharmaceuticals are you on Lulu?

In one week we will celebrate the reelection of Obama. That really rocked the moron world. All their "reliable" information sources told them it couldn't happen. At this point idiots like waxman can only whine, they have no leader to tell them what to think, ergo the redundant jibberish he posts here.
