Remember Romney's energy plan to turn energy development on federal public lands over to the states? If he had been elected, there would already be uranium mines in the Grand Canyon, strip coal mining in Bryce Canyon, oil and gas drilling in Arches National Park, oil rigs in Theodore Roosevelt National Park and natural gas wells in the Grand Tetons.
When Obama banned uranium mining on public lands surrounding the Grand Canyon, John McCain called it a “blow to job creation”.
The GOP platform last year explicitly questioned whether public lands “could be better used for ranching, mining, or forestry through private ownership.”
Such hypocrites.

Tom Donohue, president and CEO of the powerful U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said Monday that he sees Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as a tennis player who "rushes the net all the time," but hasn't yet proven that he can win.

Wow. In an interview with the Dallas News, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was asked repeatedly what he’s learned. He danced around the question like his feet were on fire, but reporter Todd J. Gillman stuck to it. Finally, Cruz admitted that he was teaching those veteran Republicans a thing or two.
Sure, he’s only been there for ten weeks, and while he may have picked the wrong battles and there may be very few left who will support legislation he wants to advance (should he ever actually do what he’s actually being paid to do, that is), chances are slim that he’ll get the backers. He’s already left scorched earth behind him and based on this interview, he hasn’t learned a thing yet.
After Cruz repeatedly ignored the reporter’s question about how he was going to get anything done after burning so many bridges, the Dallas News reporter asked him if he’d learned anything yet, to which Cruz responded that he has learned how defeatist Republicans are (handy that he has learned nothing about his own behavior, but plenty about others)."

A nothing answer, lets take a look;
- 3.1 billion lost in government services, who cares our current government offers lousy service
- 152 million in travel, almost all of that money will be spent
- 76 million lost because National Parks were shut down, dollars that will be spent
- The contractors will still pay those wages, federal employees will get paid for any work they did and many will paid for sitting on their fannies, all 217 billion will be spent

The Tea Party is the most destructive force in American politics today. Over the last few weeks, it has demonstrated again that its intent is not to shake up the establishment but to burn down the village. As a Democrat, I disagree with its policy positions, but its policy positions alone are not what make the Tea Party so dangerous. What makes the Tea Party dangerous is its members’ willful disregard for the most basic tenets of American democracy. They do not believe in the legitimacy of our president. They do not believe in the legitimacy of decisions handed down by our Supreme Court. Unlike President Obama, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, or a host of other Democratic and Republican lawmakers who grasp the basic reality of politics, they have never, not once shown a willingness to compromise on anything. Merely uttering the word is enough to draw a primary challenge.

All this, despite the fact that the Tea Party represents the views of a small, ever-shrinking fraction of Americans. Even within the Republican Party, its members’ favorability hovers around 50 percent, the lowest of all time. Their recent legislative strategy, a word that can be used only in its loosest sense, led to 144 Tea Party House members voting against a bipartisan compromise simply to open the government and avert default. But when Reuters polled people who weren’t satisfied with last week’s outcome, only 2 percent said it was because the House passed the Senate’s bipartisan bill. Only 5 percent said it was because Republicans compromised. Only 3 percent said it was because default would have taught our government an important lesson. Most people said their main dissatisfaction was with the ugly process the Tea Party dragged us all through.

And yet, somehow, this small minority of Tea Party House members, who represent less than one half of one legislative body in one branch of government, has been given enormous influence over the national agenda—a situation without precedent in American political history. It’s insanity.

It's no wonder we are the laughing stock of the planet.
I guess you don't understand the part where the republicans are trying hard to keep the dems, led by asswipe Oblama, from destroying and bankrupting this country.

I believe it was the pathological petty tyrant Ostupida who said "there will be no compromise".

Patriot wrote:
Supreme Court Rules: States
----
It must first be admitted that the U.S. Constitution never gave to the U.S. Supreme Court the power to substitute their will for the intentions of the Founders of the Constitution. This is easy to prove. Alexander Hamilton admits this in Federalist Paper 78:
"It can be of no weight to say that the courts, on the pretense of a repugnancy, may substitute their own pleasure to the Constitutional intentions of the legislature ... The courts must declare the sense of the law; and if they should be disposed to exercise WILL instead of JUDGMENT, the consequence would equally be the substitution of their pleasure to that of the legislative body."
Here, Hamilton points out the fact that, in Our Republic, the U.S. Supreme Court MUST apply the Constitution to all federal laws as intended by the Founders. They are NOT to place their will above the will of those who framed and acceded to the U.S. Constitution. To suggest that the US S CT has the power to alter, change or amend the Constitution at will is to place the US S CT above the Constitution: they can no more do this than the legislative branch can legally pass an UN-Constitutional 'law' or the executive branch legally carry out an UN-Constitutional 'law'. Or as Hamilton puts it, putting their will above the Constitution will "equally be the substitution of their pleasure to that of the legislative body." Neither is acceptable and neither is Constitutional.
The time has come in Our Republic to acknowledge and understand that the power to govern ourselves justly and Constitutionally is in the hands of the People of the several states of America--NOT in the hands of the branches of federal government. What most People in America have been duped to believe is that the U.S. Supreme Court is the final arbiter in all matters concerning government actions related to the U.S. Constitution.
When it comes to US S CT rulings that contradict the U.S.. History now proves this. Additionally, this approach proves that the vast majority of Americans have been indoctrinated into the centralist-ideology imposed on us by not-so-innocent advocates of such a political belief system.
Let me state this clearly: the U.S. Constitution does not grant to the US S CT the power to interpret the Constitution in contradiction to the terms of the Constitution, and it does not strip the powers of the States to actively arrest and resist tyrannical federal actions. The US S CT can no more violate Our Constitution than the Legislative and Executive branches can. What sense does it make that the US S CT is bound by Oath to support and defend the Constitution and then has the power to interpret it however the heck they want to? Do you think Our Founders were so near-sighted and unlearned that they would have given to the US S CT this unchecked and unlimited power in the very document that states its purpose is "to secure the blessings of liberty"?

You seem to think that you're quoting from the original constitution! What you're misrepresenting is a contract, rewritten to covertly have folks sell their souls over to the corporation of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! The original Constitution stated " Constitution for the United States of America." What we've been suckered into believing is a contract that states " Constitution of the United States of America," 2 totally different things with definitions alike. It's been over as hundred years since America has followed the original Constitution. This country is run by corporate governance, guidelines, rules &, regulations. UCC codes &, deliberate deception. The wise is awoken! We've just passed our annual 70 bankruptcy &, war that follows! Wonder who's the next corporation to literally own this country. Take my advice folks on both sides, reclaim your sovereignty. It's all that we have left.
