JESUS CHRIST IS LORD wrote:
What is liberal Christian theology?"
Answer: In liberal Christian teaching, which is not Christian at all, man’s reason is stressed and is treated as the final authority. Liberal theologians seek to reconcile Christianity with secular science and modern thinking. In doing so, they treat science as all-knowing and the Bible as fable-laden and false. Genesis’ early chapters are reduced to poetry or fantasy, having a message, but not to be taken literally (in spite of Jesus’ having spoken of those early chapters in literal terms). Mankind is not seen as totally depraved, and thus liberal theologians have an optimistic view of the future of mankind. The social gospel is also emphasized, while the inability of fallen man to fulfill it is denied. Whether a person is saved from his sin and its penalty in hell is no longer the issue; the main thing is how man treats his fellow man.“Love” of our fellow man becomes the defining issue. As a result of this “reasoning” by liberal theologians, the following doctrines are taught by liberal quasi-Christian theologians:
1) The Bible is not “God-breathed” and has errors. Because of this belief, man (the liberal theologians) must determine which teachings are correct and which are not. Belief that the Bible is “inspired”(in that word’s original meaning) by God is only held by simpletons. This directly contradicts 2 Timothy 3:16-17:“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2) The virgin birth of Christ is a mythological false teaching. This directly contradicts Isaiah 7:14 and Luke 2.
3) Jesus did not rise again from the grave in bodily form. This contradicts the resurrection accounts in all four Gospels and the entire New Testament.
4) Jesus was a good moral teacher, but His followers and their followers have taken liberties with the history of His life (there were no “supernatural” miracles), with the Gospels having been written many years later and merely ascribed to the early disciples in order to give greater weight to their teachings. This contradicts the 2 Timothy passage and the doctrine of the supernatural preservation of the Scriptures by God.
5) Hell is not real. Man is not lost in sin and is not doomed to some future judgment without a relationship with Christ through faith. Man can help himself; no sacrificial death by Christ is necessary since a loving God would not send people to such a place as hell and since man is not born in sin. This contradicts Jesus Himself, who declared Himself to be the Way to God, through His atoning death (John 14:6).
6) Most of the human authors of the Bible are not who they are traditionally believed to be. For instance, they believe that Moses did not write the first five books of the Bible. The book of Daniel had two authors because there is no way that the detailed “prophecies” of the later chapters could have been known ahead of time; they must have been written after the fact. The same thinking is carried over to the New Testament books. These ideas contradict not only the Scriptures but historical documents which verify the existence of all the people whom the liberals deny.
7) The most important thing for man to do is to “love” his neighbor. What is the loving thing to do in any situation is not what the Bible says is good but what the liberal theologians decide is good. This denies the doctrine of total depravity, which states that man is capable to doing nothing good and loving (Jeremiah 17:9) until He has been redeemed by Christ and given a new nature (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Good post. I have visited a so called church where liberals go and none of those fakes going there were Christians. They were all a bunch of plastic people, including the "minister". It was more like a cult of weirdo.

Government shutdown 2013: Establishment Republicans blame tea party for shutdown fallout

Lawmakers and strategists from the Republican Party's establishment are lashing out at tea partiers and congressional conservatives whose unflinching demands triggered the 16-day partial government shutdown and sent the GOP's popularity plunging to record lows.

The open criticism is a stark reversal from just three years ago when the GOP embraced new energy from the insurgent group to fuel a return to power in the House.

For a party in an extended identity crisis, the intensifying clash between those in its mainstream and those on its far-right wing muddies its strategy ahead of the 2014 elections.

In the view of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, House Republicans overreached during the budget impasse by believing "we have one-half of one-third of the power in Washington, therefore we have three-fourths of the ability to get things done."

Republicans run the House, but Democrats control the Senate and the White House.

Bush, a potential 2016 presidential candidate who was hosting an education conference in Boston, argued that congressional Republicans represent "the mirror opposite" of the successes of GOP governors.

Other party elders, whose calls for compromise were often overshadowed by the tea party in recent weeks, blamed conservative groups such as Heritage Action, the Senate Conservatives Fund and the Club for Growth. They were influential during the debate, at times promising to help defeat Republicans lawmakers who voted for a compromise with Democrats.

"The right is a multiplicity of various groups, some of which aren't even Republicans, but who think they can control the Republican Party," said Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, condemning tactics he referred to as "radicalness."

Republican strategist Mike Murphy chided what he called "the stupid wing of the Republican Party."

"There's tension and there ought to be a questioning of whether we ought to listen to such bad advice," Murphy said when asked about the influence of conservative groups. "We took a huge brand hit. It's self-inflicted.... I'm glad there are no elections tomorrow."

The government reopened Thursday after Congress voted the night before to end the shutdown and increase the nation's borrowing authority, narrowly averting what business leaders feared would be economic disaster with global implications.

Polls suggest that voters overwhelmingly disapproved of congressional Republicans' handling of the crises.

Remember when. Intoxicated Teabaggers ignored their Governors and now all republicans are demonized. After all who wants a leadership that has a “Tail That Wags Their Dogs?”
Republican Governors oppose the “Ideologues” of their party. Giving them stern warning not to pursue a shutdown of the government as it has been their custom to do so. Trying to block Obamacare by disrupting the financing of the Federal budget will backfire on them.
“I have made the case that Obamacare is not good for the economy, but I have some real concerns about potentially doing something that would have a negative impact on the economy just for the short term — I think there are other ways to pursue this,” said Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin !
Gov. Jack Dalrymple of North Dakota said “I’ve never felt that shutting down government function is a wise thing to do politically because I think, whoever is involved in it, it’s the Congress, regardless of what party they’re affiliated with, that will be blamed by the public,” And so, to me, I don’t see what it accomplishes.”
Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona agrees as do most all the republican governors.
Gov. Phil Bryant of Mississippi said “Many of the members of this party do not want to fund Obamacare, but what we have to do as governors who work with our legislators is realize the reality of being able to get something passed,”!
Senators Rand Paul {R }of Kentucky and Ted Cruz {R} of Texas two of the Tea Party disagree. Senator Tom Coburn {R} of Oklahoma believes the stop government ideology is doomed and will doom republicans come 2014.
Gov. Terry E. Branstad of Iowa, a Republican defines the art of negotiations and compromise is required and end all this callow bitter fighting of our extremist representatives.
New chairwoman of the National Governors Association, Ms. Fallen said “They need to buckle down, work hard, find consensus on things and certainly find ways of reducing our deficit,” said Ms. Fallin, who rejected the Medicaid expansion in Oklahoma and declined to set up a state health insurance marketplace.
Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, the head of the Republican Governors Association said “We absolutely should use whatever opportunity and tactic we can to repeal and replace Obamacare,” said Mr. Jindal, deeming the prospect of a shutdown nothing more than “a false threat” and “scare tactics” from Mr. Obama’s administration.
LOL if that is not an excellent example of how the right wing PROJECTS their erroneous ideologues’ onto their opponent. Scare tactics! False threats! Its Obama’s fault! Callow does not do justice in describing Bobby’s abilities for originality and leadership.
Gov. Jack Markell of Delaware {D} said “People are getting very tired of politicians who appear to only want to shut things down and not build things up, Far be it from me to give them advice, but it can’t be helpful to them.”
Republicans just wanted to let their constants know that they no longer favor the fragrance and or taste of Tea as it is being served by their bitter ideologues’. Will the Tea Party sober up enough to comprehend the warning of the growing chasm that will be swallowing them up?
Republicans are just now realizing that there constituents are deeply in favor of Obamacare and now they seek how to back pedal without anybody noticing. LOL!

Republican donors were horrified in November after pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into campaigns for president and Congress with nothing to show for it. A year later they’re appalled by how little has changed, angered by the behavior of Republican lawmakers during a string of legislative battles this year capped by the shutdown, and searching for answers.

In conversation after conversation, donors express growing frustration with the party and the constellation of outside groups they’ve been bankrolling. After getting squeezed last year by an array of campaign committees, party committees and disparate super PACs, many of them are still sitting on their checkbooks — a worrisome sign for the party with the 2014 midterm elections fast approaching.

Some donors are looking to take matters into their own hands.

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/10/republi...

Al Hoffman, a mega-donor and former U.S. ambassador to Portugal, said conservative activists have delivered an unmistakable message to donors and business leaders who warned about a potential default on the debt:“We don’t care.”

“So many in the House are hard-right reactionary tea party,” he told POLITICO during the shutdown.“And those Republicans, it appears, are ready to self-immolate, and are willing to risk the destruction of the party by risking the destruction of the economy, by risking a default.”

He added,“I am desperate to get the Republicans moving again … in my view we’re becoming a party of irrelevancy.”

Oh, I disagree. People aren't saving less because of "Obama's new taxes". They are saving less because they feel secure about their future.
In 2008, people were saving money at twice the rate as 2007 and, at the time, it was predicted that once the economy improved people would return to their "shop-till-you-drop" ways. That is exactly what they have done. It is a result of Obama turning the economy around.
I will say that I was not a big fan of the Affordable Care Act when it was enacted. I said at the time it was too all-encompassing but it passed and I believe we have an obligation to do all we can to see it succeeds. IMO, the proof of whether or not it is a success will be the emergency room occupancy rates and a stop to the ever escalating policy premiums. If emergency rooms are still full and premiums continue to rise, it is a failure.
It seems to me the people who are doing all the complaining are the ones who are too self-indulged to comprehend the value of health insurance. They are the very ones who get in an accident or are diagnosed with a terminal illness and expect tax payers to pick up the tab. The ACA will, at the very least, make these people give health insurance a second thought.... even if all they are doing is paying a penalty for non-compliance.
You must have missed this headline:

Payroll Tax Hike Will Shrink Your Salary Starting New Year's Day 2013

Starting January 1, 2013, when the payroll tax break expires, around 160 million American workers will bring home less money with every paycheck. For workers earning $50,000 in annual salary, that means nearly $1,000 for the year or one less bag of groceries each week.

.. Lets put the two parties to the numbers..
Inequality has demonstrated its destructive effects to our democracy through out history. Here and abroad. Here if we take the past 80 years and examine in detail what stimulates inequality distributions, we may define a tool to gage our vote. Identify who contributes to a greater distribution of our laborers productivity. One example is Obamacare. Effectively redistributing health cost with a progressive cost to premium in ratio to “income not health”.
The book,“ Bulls Bears and the Ballot Box. By Bob Deitreick and Lew Goldfarb” inspired the following;
Ever wonder which party is the party to attend to.
Promoting Inequality through the Income Gap, as one example, of many.

A mathematical investigation was produced by the statisticians Pedro Santa Clara and Rossen Valkanov that exposes the superior performance of the stock markets under democrats. That this is but one example of the democrat’s superiority, as there are more.
Their study encompasses 80 years. Study demonstrates systematically and positively surprised by democratic policies. Comparing the stewardship of the two parties. They calculated each economic indicator as an “annual average” during the democrats and republicans of their economic stewardship of their 40 years each. Turns out to be a landslide for democrats providing beneficial returns to the nation. One example; Democrat’s presided over a very respectable average annual compound return of 9.60% during their 40 years where in as republicans averaged a dismal 0.58%.
Consider this; a 401K plan invested in stocks and had a value of $100,000 at the beginning of the 40 years. Democrats would accumulate in compound interest $ 3,912,210 where in as republicans would only produce $126,027 . Another example; “IF” an employee were to invest $5,000 per year into their 401K for 40 years in a democratic stewardship the employee would have $1,985,526 in the bank. Where as the republican would produce a dismal $224,375.
That republicans advocate that they are good for businesses is false as compared to the democrats
Another interesting fact emerges within the statistical study. The income gap between the 99% and the top 1% has widened considerably under republicans. Averaging .49% as compared to the democrat’s .41% That is to say under republicans the income gap in 40 years, widened by 19.6% and narrowed 16.4%. Resulting in a 36% difference.
LOL on debt republicans increased debt by 2.5 times greater than that of the democrats. Republicans $7.1 Trillion vs. the democrats $2.8 Trillion.
GOP’s Self-Proclamation for economic dominance; in fact it is a misnomer to call the GOP a fiscal responsible party and or a smaller government, when in fact the contrary is true.
Obama’s administration indicates he sought the great leaders on these issue. Eccles and FDR, Clinton and O’Neill to do what is most productive for our nation.
Now pass on this one small example of the fallacies of the republican’s erroneous policies and deceptions..
