16 Then two women who had become mothers out of wedlock came and stood before the king.
17 And one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
18 And the third day after I was delivered, this woman also was delivered. And we were together; no stranger was with us, just we two in the house.
19 And this woman’s child died in the night because she lay on him.
20 And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me while your handmaid slept and laid him in her bosom and laid her dead child in my bosom.
21 And when I rose to nurse my child, behold, he was dead. But when I had considered him in the morning, behold, it was not the son I had borne.
22 But the other woman said, No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son! And this one said, No! But the dead son is your son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.
23 The king said, One says, This is my son that is alive and yours is the dead one. The other woman says, No! But your son is the dead one and mine is the living one.
24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword to the king.
25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two and give half to the one and half to the other.
26 Then the mother of the living child said to the king, for she yearned over her son, O my lord, give her the living baby, and by no means slay him. But the other said, Let him not be mine or yours, but divide him.
27 Then the king said, Give her [who pleads for his life] the living baby, and by no means slay him. She is the child’s mother.
28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had made, and they stood in awe of him, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

Most people probably didn't read that far to get the point of your post.

But it was an excellent metaphor of dems willing to split the baby in half just so the other mother wouldn't get it and the repubs saving the baby even if they have to let the fake mother have it.

The baby, of course, representing the country.

But that's how this president rolls. Act first...think second. He miraculously won the presidency and that's all that matters.
Maybe he and Michelle should have another "date night" in downtown New York? Brilliant idea that was, wasn't it?
He might as well have had a town crier in the streets announcing, "The King has his Lady have arrived to grace the King's realm of New York!" And then, "So stop whining about the traffic jams and backups and be grateful he has graced his presence among you!" And for added emphasis then said, "Sheesh!"

You also forgot to mention what happens to the millions of people currently employed in the industry?
I think those greedy, liberal college professors should give up their high salaries and short work weeks in the name of "fairness." Too many can't afford the high cost of a college education.

But in the name of "fairness," we could start with Moochelle. The Obama's extravagant ski vacations and safaris should be divided and made equal for all. And put their kids in a public school.

Monday's military photo-op involving a low-flying airliner over New York City was:
A huge mistake. The military should have cleared it with NYC officials first.
Just a misunderstanding. I'm relieved to find out it wasn't a terrorist attack.

Breaking News update: President Barack Obama says it was a mistake for one of his official airplanes to be sent zooming past the New York City skyline for a publicity photo shoot.

Obama said Tuesday: "It was a mistake, as was stated ... and it will not happen again."

Obama commented after reporters asked about the flight as he prepared to meet with FBI Director Robert Mueller at agency headquarters.

On Monday, one of the Boeing 747s used by Obama and an F-16 jet circled the Statue of Liberty at the start of the work day, startling workers in lower Manhattan who feared a nightmarish replay of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The flight was carried out by the Defense Department. The director of the White House military office has apologized for the incident.

Original story below. Check back for more.

Just plane dumb.

A perfect storm of idiocy led to a frightening 9/11 flashback for thousands of New Yorkers Monday when a jumbo jet and an F-16 fighter jet buzzed lower Manhattan without warning.

A "furious" Mayor Bloomberg denounced the dunces who dreamed up the stunt - and the NYPD officials and bureaucrats who never told him about it.

By day's end, an obscure City Hall deputy named Marc Mugnos, who makes $60,000 a year, was taking the fall for not telling Bloomberg that the low-flying planes were coming. He was reprimanded.

But there was plenty of blame to go around.

Louis Caldera, the director of the White House military office who sent Air Force One and the fighter jet on an "aerial photo mission," got slammed by an angry President Obama.

"I approved a mission over New York," Caldera said in a hastily prepared statement. "I apologize and take responsibility for any distress that flight caused."

Obama was not on the flight.

Sources said the chief reason for the panic-inducing flight was to create souvenir pictures of Air Force One flying over the Statue of Liberty to be given out - like a presidential tie clip - to family, friends or supporters.

Air Force One has done flyovers of historic sites and monuments like Mount Rushmore and the Golden Gate Bridge for PR glam shots - at taxpayer expense.

Perhaps because they are aware of the fact that knowingly submitting fraudulent evidence will get you bent over in a prison shower?
How about doing what the so-called "birfers" want and submit that document as proof of Obama's eligibility.
If that document is proven legitimate, this case will disappear faster than a male page off Barney Frank's New York hotel balcony.

The ObamaCare Hunger Games

Obamacare would "bring down premiums by $2500 for the typical family," President Obama boasted during the debate over his signature health legislation. While the veracity of that promise is up for debate, it's also important to parse out that when President Obama said "typical family," he also left out who he doesn't mean by "typical family." These are the stories of those left behind by Obamacare.

They won't see their premiums fall. Instead, their insurance will double in price.

Obamacare uses the trident of an individual mandate, community rating and guaranteed issue to push everyone, healthy and sick, into the health insurance system. The way that Americans get insurance if it's not offered by their employer will be through state-based health insurance "exchanges." In those exchanges, insurance companies aren't allowed to price-discriminate between healthy and sick (community rating) and must offer insurance of a minimum benefit level to meet new federally-defined guidelines for insurance. People applying for insurance will also be offered subsidies from the federal government to buy insurance if their income falls below certain levels.

These minimum benefits and subsidy levels have begun to emerge as huge problems for some Americans. The minimum benefit levels tend to increase insurance premiums, as certain bare-bones plans are now outlawed. And the subsidy levels create huge "welfare cliffs" for Americans in certain categories, creating a disincentive to stop working.

The ObamaCare Hunger Games

SFGate reports on the case of Jacqueline Proctor:

She and her husband are in their early 60s. They have been paying $7,200 a year for a bare-bones Kaiser Permanente health plan with a $5,000 per person annual deductible. "Kaiser told us the plan does not comply with Obamacare and the substitute will cost more than twice as much," about $15,000 per year, she says.

This new plan, Kaiser's cheapest offering for 2014, would consume about 25 percent of their after-tax income. The new plan still has a $5,000 deductible but provides coverage for things her current policy does not, such as maternity care, healthy child visits and coverage for dependents up to age 26. Proctor has no use for such coverage, since her son is 30.

SFGate goes on to report that the Proctors' annual household income is $64,000 - about two thousand dollars over the line at which income subsidies phase out. If the Proctors' income was a mere $2000 less, they'd receive more than $14,000 of tax subsidies to purchase insurance. Because they're just over the line, they face an enormous effective tax rate on that extra $2000 of income.

Additionally, as the article points out, there are all those extra provisions that cause insurance to be more expensive. The Proctors' plan covers maternity care when it's unlikely the 60+ couple will need it. It covers offspring up to the age of 26 when their son just turned 30. The way that community-rated insurance works is that means that the Proctors' premiums for coverage that they will assuredly not use is used to subsidize those people who will be using it - maternity care for the younger set, for example, or coverage for those with college-aged progeny.

That's not to say that the Proctors won't benefit from the new minimum coverage levels. It could be the case that while they're forced to effectively subsidize maternity care for younger couples, younger couples will be forced to effectively subsidize, say, prostate screenings for Mr. Proctor.

This is what's key in the fundamental values that drove Obamacare. It's not just a massive reorganization of the way the health system works - it's a redistribution scheme.

Obamacare redistributes wealth from couples like the Proctors, who have lived long, healthy, middle-class lives, to the chronically sick.

A couple who are richer than the Proctors in the same age group - perhaps a couple who have been heavy smokers and are dealing with large health bills because of it - might now have the same insurance bill as the Proctors, but benefit because their usage of the health system is much heavier and their pre-Obamacare premiums were higher.

It took me three trips and about $145 to renew my DL this last time due to e-verify and Rick Scott's desire to double and even
