Not treatments to this day. Other than pain pills for a few weeks that was it after the day and a half in the hospital. As I have said on here before I paid the bills in cash. The company, Best Products, closed and filed bankruptcy not long thereafter.

Yes and since the GOP has shown themselves just as enamored of big-spending, big government NOW is the time for the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party to pull people away from the dysfunctional GOP and caucus against the Ds on fundamental issues like spending and entitlements. The Republicans have ruined their brand and its gonna be a long time before they'll hold anything at the national level other than the House and even that's looking a little shaky after their most recent circular firing squad.
So, you agree with this???

2.4 Government Finance and Spending

All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We oppose any legal requirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors. Government should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. We support the passage of a "Balanced Budget Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution, provided that the budget is balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes.

2.9 Health Care

We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system. We recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want (if any), the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions. People should be free to purchase health insurance across state lines.

Obamacare and the Assault on Workers’ Health Benefits
Developments in two major US cities underscore the anti-working class agenda underlying the Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act (ACA), popularly known as Obamacare.
On Monday, Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr announced that health insurance is being eliminated for retired city workers under age 65 and replaced with a $125 monthly stipend to use toward purchasing coverage on the insurance exchanges set up under the ACA. Retirees over 65 will be moved to Medicare.
In Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that the city will go forward with a plan to eliminate health insurance subsidies for retired city workers by the end of 2016.
Orr and Emanuel wasted no time in seizing on the launch of the Obamacare exchanges, which opened for business October 1, to announce their assault on retirees’ health care. In both Detroit and Chicago, workers who labored for decades with the promise that health care would be provided for them and their families in retirement are being robbed of their benefits and forced to purchase individual plans from private insurers on the Obamacare exchanges.
The essential aim of the ACA is rapidly emerging. Behind the talk of providing coverage for the uninsured, Obamacare was devised from the outset as a means of dismantling the employer-based system of health insurance that for decades guaranteed a basic level of health care for tens of millions of workers in the US. While Obama’s counter-reform will still leave some 31 million people uninsured, it will dramatically reduce health care costs for private and public employers by hiking workers’ out-of-pocket costs and slashing their benefits.
Health care coverage for their employees will cease to be the accepted norm for large and medium-sized businesses. Instead, workers will be left to their own devices, forced to confront gigantic health insurance corporations as individuals, with minimal subsidies from the government or their private employers that will do little to offset huge increases in premiums, co-pays and deductibles.
In essence, a voucher-type system is being instituted, and the principle will inevitably be extended to Medicare and Medicaid, the government-run health programs for retirees and poor people, respectively. This will provide the means for privatizing and dismantling these basic social programs
Let's see, what important FACTS were left out of your "World Socialist" website cut and paste:( http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2013/10/16/pe... )

(1) Detroit has filed for bankruptcy and can no longer afford the $605 per month health care coverage, which the city has provided to retired individuals, and $1,834 monthly benefit for retired families. This is what happens when a city goes bankrupt.

"The moves were unilaterally imposed by Orr who, under the state’s anti-democratic emergency manager law, has virtual dictatorial powers to tear up labor agreements, slash city services and sell off public assets to pay back the Wall Street banks and big bondholders that control the Detroit’s debt."

2. Chicago's four pension systems have about $20 billion in unfunded liabilities. The panel appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to review taxpayer-subsidized health insurance for retired government workers was "required under a 10-year legal settlement agreement in the Korshak case."

Neither had anything to do with the Affordable Care Act but the ACA may provide an escape from bankruptcy for both cities.

Or the gods are malign...'
Blame is better to give than receive

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose freewill
There are those who think
That they were dealt a losing hand
The cards were stacked against them
They weren't born in Lotusland
All preordained
A prisoner in chains
A victim of venomous fate
Kicked in the face
You can't pray for a place
In heaven's unearthly estate

Imperfect and incomplete
Genetic blends
With uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet

How party donations drive German politics
Angela Merkel's party received a big donation from major BMW shareholders - just as her government is lobbying the EU against stricter emissions limits. Many think it's time that party donation rules were reformed.Bärbel Höhn stopped believing in coincidence long ago. The Green party politician says she rubbed her eyes when she first read of the large donation made by major BMW shareholders to the Christian Democratic Union, the governing party led by Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Less than three weeks after the general election, three members of the Quandt and Klatten families transferred some 690,000 euros ($930,000) to the CDU. As is legally required of any donation over 50,000 euros, the figure was published on the German parliament's website.

Cash for lax emissions limits?

The transaction was completely legal, but Höhn is outraged nevertheless, because it came just as Merkel's government was working to protect the interests of the German auto industry at the European Union.

Maybe for those intrested we can see things from a different angle

Don't you use your EBT card to buy yours?

Lost in the news shuffle of the government shutdown and debt ceiling debate this week was the story progressives are quite happy you likely missed. But the story is important to note now, especially since we are on the verge of a massive expansion of the welfare state.

The Electronic Benefits Transfer system went down for a couple of days.

The EBT system replaced food stamps with a debit card to remove the stigma attached to using food stamps and is “reloaded” with a recipient’s government allotment once per month. When the money is gone, it’s gone, until the next month.

EBT users know how much they get from taxpayers every month and are generally acutely aware of how much they have left at any given time – it’s printed on the receipt they received when they last used it. But because they know their balance doesn’t mean anyone else does.

Enter the system breakdown.

EBT cards are run like credit cards to ensure the stores get paid, recipients don’t purchase restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco and they stay within their monthly limit.

When the system went down there was no way for stores to ensure they’d be paid for their goods, so they stopped accepting the cards for a few days. That meant EBT users either had to go without shopping for a couple of days or – gasp – use their own money for food purchases.

2 Walmart locations in Louisiana decided to be good community members and accept EBT cards “without limits,” essentially on the honor system, to help users in a time of need. That’s right, Walmart. The company routinely attacked by the Left for their greed, their pay and simply existing in a way they hate offered to help people (NOTE: They regularly help people, you don’t hear about it because it doesn’t fit the left-wing narrative.) That was a mistake.

Under normal circumstance, human beings wouldn’t abuse anyone willing to help them, be they a neighbor or a company. But the ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY is NOT a “NORMAL circumstance.” Well, actually after the Dems are finished importing millions more takers, it will be as normal as the new normal fat weight.

Word quickly spread throughout the community and EBT users flocked to the stores. With no limits on how much someone could get using an EBT card, those Walmart stores quickly began to resemble a zombie apocalypse.

“Shoppers” filled shopping carts with literally every item on the shelves of the grocery section of the store – freezers, refrigerators, canned goods, boxes, anything – the stores looked as if they had been looted. And, for all practical purposes, it had been.

You were probably there scoffing up crow.

The IRS managing and overseeing our health care is not their job for one thing.
Providing affordable insurance and lowering the costs should have been the goal. It doesn't take the government or the IRS to achieve that goal. It just takes some common sense.
But you like being controlled so you don't have any.
The definition of a blockhead is someone who is repeatedly told something they are saying is just not true. Yet, you keep repeating the same lies over and over and over again. I don't understand how you can do this. The IRS is not managing and overseeing or administering your insurance. That's a lie.
All you have to do is provide the IRS proof of insurance when you file your taxes. Period. If you do not have insurance, you pay the $95.00 penalty.
That's how it's done in Mass and that's how it will be done everywhere.

EBT and the Taker Mentality

Carts overflowing with food were simply abandoned in the aisles; left to rot, left to thaw, just left. The people who filled them like they were contestants on Supermarket Sweep knew they didn’t have the money on their EBT cards to pay for all that food, but they didn’t care. They saw “free stuff” in their minds because that’s what EBT represents – FREE STUFF!

They cared when the system designed to help them survive started to work again, and they ran.

One woman who didn’t run because she didn’t know the system was working again was caught trying to purchase $700 worth of food when she had only $.49 on her EBT card. She knew what she was doing, and she didn’t care. She is entitled.

This is what the entitlement culture creates – a lack of dignity and basic decency.

When you’re used to getting things for free, conditioned and trained to believe this is an acceptable way to live, taking advantage of that is hardly unthinkable.

If you depend on something other than yourself for your subsistence, and by extension your existence, why not exploit an opportunity that presents itself?

The government teat gives you enough to get by but not to thrive. Couple that with a political party telling you that if you’re born into poverty the system is stacked against you and you’ll never get ahead, you start to think you’ve “earned” what you’re given. That you deserve it.

If people think they deserve something for simply existing, something someone else earned, why not take more? Just some faceless company is being hurt, not a real person. Never mind that the company was trying to help EBT users – that hand was bitten.

The mentality exhibited by those EBT users would be replicated anywhere any company would allow it.

Race, age, gender – none of these variants would make a lick of difference.

It’s THE ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY. Most EBT users would not march into someone’s house and steal money from them, but they basically live that way only with the government as the middleman entering people’s houses for them. They don’t see it that way; they’re conditioned to not see it that way. But that’s how it is.

The EBT system is set up to help, to be a safety net for Americans in need. For far too many people that SAFETY NET HAS BECOME A HAMMOCK, a way of life.

Living off the labor of others, having their existence dependent upon others, perverts basic humanity.

With no requirements or expectations placed on welfare recipients to receive taxpayer money, an entitlement monster gets created. It was unleashed on Walmarts in Louisiana this week by a small segment of the population.

If Republicans can’t figure out how to message the importance and virtues of self-reliance and rugged individualism again, the things that made this country great, our very American Spirit, may well end up being the next thing looted. Not that Obama and the Dems would mind--it would be the new American "SUCCESS" story to them.
