From county chairmen to national party luminaries, veteran Republicans across the country are accusing tea party lawmakers of staining the GOP with their refusal to bend in the budget impasse in Washington.
The Republican establishment also is signaling a willingness to strike back at the tea party in next fall's elections.
"It's time for someone to act like a grown-up in this process," former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu argues, faulting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and tea party Republicans in the House as much as President Barack Obama for taking an uncompromising stance.
Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour is just as pointed, saying this about the tea party-fueled refusal to support spending measures that include money for Obama's health care law: "It never had a chance."
The anger emanating from Republicans like Sununu and Barbour comes just three years after the GOP embraced the insurgent political group and rode its wave of new energy to return to power in the House.
Now, they're lashing out with polls showing Republicans bearing most of the blame for the federal shutdown, which entered its 11th day Friday. In some places, they're laying the groundwork to take action against the tea party in the 2014 congressional elections.

There is no budget impasse.
To have a "budget impass", you actually have to have a budget, you moron.
Our government has been so incompetent since Obama took office, the government hasn't been able to produce a budget. We have not had a budget since Obama took office.

Please use verbiage that is reflective of the real world. Using terms such as "budget impass" has nothing to do with what is happening today, or anything in the past 4 years, because we haven't even had a budget since Obama took office.

An Associated Press-GfK poll released Wednesday showed why these party loyalists are so concerned: More Republicans told pollsters that the GOP is mishandling the shutdown than is handling it well. And among those who say it's being poorly handled, twice as many Republicans say the party is not doing enough to negotiate with Obama than those who say the party is doing too much.

spin any way you need to, but those are facts. which i will keep presenting no matter the Topix right wing nutjob state of denial.
Doesn't mean they don't think what they are concern about is wrong-Obamacare. In fact Obamacare is still in the negatives. Mishandling is a different issue.

Only a liberal socialist would not understand the democratic process. It's messy and there's a two-party system for a reason. Both sides have to find common ground when there's an impasse, especially when it involves a major law affecting society in such a profound way if it's going to continue to work.

Refusing to negotiate is not part of this process. Nor has it ever been. Only now has it become a political game with posturing and maneuvering by the power elite with us as the pawns to discredit the other side and secure a one-party system.

Apparently, the socialist system you desire as well.

I'd rather let's stay with the question you didn't answer.

Would you expect Democrats to sit quietly by and cave in to Republicans' demands if they refused to negotiate a law passed strictly on a Republican partisan vote of which the majority were and still are against and with unintended unfavorable consequences?

The only way to fix a BAD law is to rewrite.

Nothing is dumber than trying to willy nilly implement a law as it will involve numerous challenges to the legitimacy of it in courts.
If it doesn't work as written-do a re-do.

1) Don't drop out of school.
2) Study while you're in school.
3) Don't have children before you're married.
4) GET A JOB and show up for work every day on time.
5) Do this for a career.

What is with your fixation with female body parts.

I am a female and I am getting totally creeped out with the Dem vagina crusade.

I am not a BODY PART that I need Dems to act like big daddy to. Free abortion, free birth control is all the Dems appear to think I need in life.

They would also not be able to comprehend a system where the government doesn't own everything by default, and private "ownership" isn't exclusively as a priviledge allowed by this government that owns everything.
Thier logic only works in a system where the government owns everything by default.
