Would you like to die that way, Lily? No matter what your mental condition? You don't think Terri suffered in spite of her mental state literally being starved to death?
It was nothing short of barbaric and the entire nation had to watch it. I can't even imagine being one of her family members who begged to take care of her and were helpless to end her suffering.
Would you be able to watch a loved one starve to death even if you didn't think they'd want to live in their present condition?
Carol, with all due respect, there was no one home. The autopsy showed her brain had liquified. There was no function. She had been dead a long time with only the machines keeping the body going.

Lily, you'd be a liar if you said you'd watch a wounded animal starve to death even if they had a head injury.
But we know liberals have such little regard for human life, it's understandable your stance on how Terri was sentenced to die.
Out of sight, out of mind. That's all that matters.
We are more humane to animals; they shoot horses don't they?
My cat had diabetes; I had him put to sleep. It's the right thing to do. My nephew kept his diabetic cat alive with insulin, then she went blind and was falling down and walking into walls, they had to keep her in a closet to be safe to eat, this went on for years. Why? I think it's absurd. Give them the shot and let them go. Keeping that brain dead woman alive for 14 years was insane; it was because of the parents religious fanaticism and then the Governor Bush got involved, and the President got involved. How absolutely ridiculous.

The Terri Schiavo case ruined the careers of many Repugnants.

Ask Bill Frist.

It was a case of you supporting the Gov't over individual family rights.

You supported the Gov't over her husband.

And yet, you now clainm to be for Gov't keeping their nose out of people's affairs.

Square the circle or admit you were wrong in supporting Gov't overreach in the Terri Schiavo case.

And yes, they were wrong, as proven by court cases in FL and at the Federal level.

We don't care about people, you say. Yet we're the ones who want all Americans to have health insurance, while your side is on record as saying 'let them die'.(Repugnant debates of 2012)

You are so bass ackwards, it's sad.

"Whatever" claims that Terry Schiavos husband paid personally to keep her alive for 14 years! Did her parents pay with their own money to keep her alive and show her lolling her head around on tv for 14 years? I doubt it. She was dead, let her die with dignity instead of being made an example of religious zealotry.
You people are sick in the head.
lily do you ever check out google before posting?

"Money that Schiavo's husband, Michael, received as part of a medical malpractice lawsuit in his wife's case in 1993 is almost gone, said Deborah Bushnell, one of Michael Schiavo's lawyers.

Of the $700,000 payment, only about $50,000 is left, Bushnell said. The rest went to pay for medical care for Schiavo, who has been in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years, and for legal fees in the battle over her fate, she said."

"Medicaid, the state and federal program that pays medical costs for the poor and indigent, has been picking up the tab for Schiavo's medications for two years, Bushnell said, while the hospice provides care for free." -apparently in just the last two years did the husband stop paying.

Taxpayers, hospice pay for Schiavo medical care
The Miami Herald by Phil Long

What is your point here?

Didn't this start with you claiming Galt was heartless or something for not thinking it was wise to pay for the high cost of ICU care for the terminally ill?

Then you end up agreeing with him.

I've lost count of how many times I have been down this path with this psycho. As soon as she and he butt buddies find themselves looking like idiots with no way out, they start a personal attack to divert attention from their stupidity. They have done this over and over again. "Amber Alert system closed", "Children with cancer denied care", etc. Such fools.
lol! Oh yes! It's the norm! They think they have you over a barrel, but once the facts start rolling in, they duck, run and hide and start the personal attacks. I notice with you, it really starts when you post your sources. After that, they reich wing fangs come out.

The best part is they claim others are guilty of doing it!

They hate having to run a true conversation with an exchange of information. It requires too much thinking and too much information for them to process.

Okay, Homer. Let's pretend you have something you're not supposed to have and you've been given two years and 15 chances by the authorities to prove you don't have it.

Now you know the heat is only going to get hotter unless you find a way to get rid of whatever it is you have.

You don't think you'd use stall tactics just to give you more time?

A former top Iraqi general and a former Iraqi scientist both publicly came forward (the general wrote a book) describing how Saddam moved the WMDs out of the country.

It's not difficult to figure this one out. You can do it.

Jibberish__uninformed emotionally immature centered jibberish. People in a vegetative state die daily in the US under the very same circumstances.

We learned of Schiavo due to Florida's sunshine laws and our interest was heightened by Jeb Bush's unlawful interference.

The results of the autopsy can easily be found online__Terry Schiavo didn't suffer in agony.

HARTFORD — A lieutenant with the Hartford Fire Department was arrested on Tuesday and charged with 29 counts of risk of injury to a minor after officers found unsecured firearms in a 7-year-old’s room, police said.

Michael Paterson, 43, was also charged with breach of peace and threatening, said Lt. Brian Foley, commander of the Major Crimes division.

Police responded to Paterson’s home on Canaan Street on Tuesday morning for a reported domestic incident, police said. Paterson was not at the residence when officers arrived but returned home later and was taken into custody, police said.

The officers learned that Paterson had several guns registered in his name. Paterson took the officers into a bedroom where 26 firearms were found unsecured, most lying on a 7-year-old’s bed, police said. A large amount of ammunition was also found in the room.
