Aaaaannnnnndddd; we're off!
Galt is against others paying to keep people alive or pay for their treatment. That is the essence of insurance; everyone puts into the pot, everyone is covered. What is so hard for you to understand?
"Whatever" claims that Terry Schiavos husband paid personally to keep her alive for 14 years! Did her parents pay with their own money to keep her alive and show her lolling her head around on tv for 14 years? I doubt it. She was dead, let her die with dignity instead of being made an example of religious zealotry.
You people are sick in the head.
"Money that Schiavo's husband, Michael, received as part of a medical malpractice lawsuit in his wife's case in 1993 is almost gone, said Deborah Bushnell, one of Michael Schiavo's lawyers.
Of the $700,000 payment, only about $50,000 is left, Bushnell said. The rest went to pay for medical care for Schiavo, who has been in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years, and for legal fees in the battle over her fate, she said."
"Medicaid, the state and federal program that pays medical costs for the poor and indigent, has been picking up the tab for Schiavo's medications for two years, Bushnell said, while the hospice provides care for free." -apparently in just the last two years did the husband stop paying.
Taxpayers, hospice pay for Schiavo medical care
The Miami Herald by Phil Long
What is your point here?
Didn't this start with you claiming Galt was heartless or something for not thinking it was wise to pay for the high cost of ICU care for the terminally ill?
Then you end up agreeing with him.
