Obama is only 1/3 of the government. He doesn't get to say it's going to be my way even with his signature legislation especially if it could potentially ruin the economy.

The Republican majority in the House is also 1/3 of the government. Don't they have a voice in how this law affects the economy?
Yeah

actually if you check the Constitution- The Huse only makes up 1/6 of th Federal gov't. The Senate is the other 1/6th. Since you haven't been paying attention, they have tried 41 FRIGGIN TIMES TO DEFUND THE ACA. All 41 attemps were killed in the Senate, which they knew would happen.

Now if you want to talk about gov't wasteful spending maybe you should ask the House GOP leadership why they wasted all the time and money on something they knew would pass and instead sat down ith the democrats to NEGOTIATE a budget.

But since the couldn't get it pass as our founding fathers intended, they tried to pull an end run around the constitution and attach a rider to the CR to get their wishes.

I'm more than happy here.
Thank you. You, on the other hand, seem to be incapable of common sense or logical thinking so perhaps you should just sit back in silence and let the grown-ups debate the issues with respect and civility.
The Christian Zionist Heritage Center at the Jerusalem World Center is going to help change that mistaken impression with the message that true Christians love, care for and support the Jewish people. We are going to tell the story of the amazing support that Christian Zionists have provided during the time when the Jews were scattered around the world, and especially in leading to the rebirth of Israel as a nation.
You could educate yourself-rather than trying that horrific cut and paste again.

that's idiotic.

Zionism is a purely Jewish belief. Christians can be supportive of the idea of Zionism, but they can no more be Zionists than a Muslim can!! The very idea is absurd and ignores the tremendous gulf between Christian and Jewish theology.

""In 1975, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution slandering Zionism by equating it with racism. In his spirited response to the resolution, Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Chaim Herzog noted the irony of the timing, the vote coming exactly 37 years after Kristallnacht.""

Three reasons Republicans are right:

•Obamacare is terrible policy. Obamacare takes America decisively in the direction of more central control. This on its own would be catastrophic (rationing, etc.). Most Europeans think they have pretty good healthcare – until they see how many treatments they are denied that exist in the US.
•We should all be counter-majoritarian once in a while. Obamacare was passed by party-line vote in violation of longstanding political tradition of passing far-reaching reforms by bipartisanship – a political tradition that exists precisely to prevent the predicament we now find ourselves in. The basis of modern democracy is “majoritarianism for less important things, counter-majoritarianism for very important things.” Democracy is messy. It’s also the best system we’ve got.
•Zero-sum situations should be avoided and positive-sum outcomes sought. Unfortunately, you don’t get very far in politics without conflict. Not only is Obamacare not congruent with basic principles of fairness but Republicans must keep reminding Washington that the law remains deeply unpopular.

Hi, Ed.

""A 2011 study by the consulting firm Management Information Services, Inc.(MISI)[7] estimated the total historical federal SUBSIDIES for various energy sources over the years 1950-2010. The study found that oil, natural gas, and coal received $369 billion,$121 billion, and $104 billion (2010 dollars), respectively, or 70% of total energy SUBSIDIES over that period. Oil, natural gas, and coal benefitted most from percentage depletion allowances and other tax-based SUBSIDIES, but oil also benefitted heavily from regulatory SUBSIDIES such as exemptions from price controls and higher-than-average rates of return allowed on oil pipelines.""

You lost, Ed. Suck it up.

The shutdown could have ended on Monday if the Senate had agreed to removing the subsidies Congress will receive.

But in your mind Congress not having to live under the same rules they laid down for the rest of us is fair, right? And expecting them to abide by the same law as the rest of us is unfair, correct?

More recently, in 2006, then-Sen. Obama used the debt ceiling as a stick to hit Bush.

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can’t pay its own bills,” Obama said [pdf] in March 2006.“It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government’s reckless fiscal policies. Over the past five years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is ‘trillion’ with a ‘T.’ That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers.”

Since assuming power, Obama has backed off his alarmism about “foreign countries,” telling the always credulous David Letterman last September,“A lot of [the debt] we owe to ourselves.”

O'bama says he is a failure in other words...didn't he?
