"Scattered"? Unlike you, we have lives and fully realize spending an inordinate amount of time reading the nonsensical ramblings of a bunch of uneducated, functionally illiterate, trailer trash serves no purpose.

True. But some things that Repugnants have always resisted, from FDR thru Obama, are any new social programs. From Social Security to unemployment insurance in the 1930's to Medicare in the 1960's, Repugnants have fought against any new benefit to keep Americans from starving when times are tough.

We are alone in that among civilized nations. The average American does not get to share in the wealth of the nation, because the rich own all politicians, from Obama on down.

Problem is, American love these 'socialist' programs. Most of you idiots who rail agains the ACA are collecting Government entitlements, so I guess we're all socialists, eh?? I find it funny how you nitwits try to seperate SS by saying you paid a tax!! Kind of like the 'tax' Jhn Roberts mentioned in the ACA.

Flake and Eman have talked about technology taking over more and more jobs. It will get worse as technology improves.

Our economy current can't employ enough people, period. The ones who are employed often don't make enough to support a family.

Something's got to give. And it will.

Dr. Ben Carson said after his speech at the Prayer Breakfast earlier this year where he spoke his mind in front of the president even though it wasn't in line with Obama's ideology, the IRS went after him.

Yes, both sides are guilty of auditing opposing groups and individuals. But auditing a renowned neurosurgeon for simply speaking his mind in front of a president is the most blatant and obvious attack on Freedom of Speech I could ever imagine.

O'Reilly was audited three years in a row under the Clinton administration. He and his lawyers threatened to sue the IRS if they did it a fourth time. They didn't.

But a well-respected Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at John's Hopkins School of Medicine asked to speak at a government-sponsored event who had a different point of view than this president being singled out and audited is grossly transparent on the part of this administration and his minions and unbelievably appalling and infuriating.

Holy Mackerel, Andy! Is your head on backwards OR WHAT?

Leaders are required to try and find common ground and compromise on important issues affecting all Americans - not just appeasing their base and playing some kind of power play game.

Have Reid and Obama EVER tried to find common ground or compromise on anything related to ObamaCare??

All they have to do is concede to delaying the individual mandate for the common folks like Obama did for corporations for one more year until this thing is ready for prime time.

Is that really so much to ask considering this is already a disaster before it even limped through the first week??

The GOP’s Misinformation Problem in Action

Robert Costa explains why there are so many Republicans in Congress committed to an effort that is certain to fail:

And so many of these members now live in the conservative world of talk radio and tea party conventions and Fox News invitations. And so the conservative strategy of the moment, no matter how unrealistic it might be, catches fire. The members begin to believe they can achieve things in divided government that most objective observers would believe is impossible [bold mine-DL]. Leaders are dealing with these expectations that wouldn’t exist in a normal environment.

Costa’s explanation seems to be the only way to account for Republican behavior that otherwise makes no sense. Picking an extremely unpopular fight that they are sure to lose doesn’t serve the party’s interests, and it doesn’t even seem to serve the longer-term interests of individual members. The trouble is that the Republicans most eager to have this fight may believe that they can prevail somehow, and they seem to be encouraged in this belief because they are relying on the same sources of misinformation that have served them so poorly in the past.

It is as if no one learned anything from the experience of the party-wide delusion that Romney was going to win the election. Some Republicans are making all of the same mistakes that they made when they ignored all of the evidence suggesting that the GOP was likely to lose in 2012. Most of the time, the echo chamber hurts conservatives and Republicans by making them oblivious to inconvenient facts and ideas, but in this case it is leading them to believe in an alternate political reality with its own set of rules. In that alternative reality, a pointless, self-defeating effort becomes a clever political strategy, and obnoxious and politically toxic tactics are treated as normal and appropriate.

The elitists who received the coveted waivers from Obama. Aren't they being allowed to ignore the law by not being required to participate?

How would you describe it?

And why would anyone even want a waiver if ObamaCare is so great?
