the fact that you're so frightened of the ACA is proof that it will be a resounding success.

Your side just lost the House for 2014 with their hate America platform.

Nice job, Smokey.

Obama today: "I will absolutely not negotiate."
Well, that certainly proves we don't have a narcissist leader who has no concept of governance and how it's supposed to work.
The only negotiation the GOP hoped for was fairness for all Americans - not just corporations and Congress.
Obama attitude is that he is a dictator and the sad thing is now the
dem supports him anything he wants to do.Now it is all right for
this dictator to break his own law obama care to delay obamacare
for the rich until 2015.However it is not all right to delay obamacare for a year for the middle class people? So then the dem
and obama shuts down the gov.

If I order a cheeseburger and the waiter offers me a burger without cheese... that's a compromise.

If I order a cheeseburger and the waiter offers me a turd burger without cheese... that's an insult, not a compromise. If I ask for a just a hamburger without cheese... well, that's compromise...If the waiter offers me (in response) a turd burger with cheese... that still an insult.

If the waiter says take the turd burger (with our without cheese) or he's shutting down the restaurant, that's crazy....

Obamacare trade-off: Lower premium, higher deductible

WASHINGTON — You might be pleased with the low monthly premium for one of the new health insurance plans under Obama’s takeover, but the added expense of co-payments and deductibles will burn a hole in your wallet.

I agree--Republicans should let people see for themselves as ObamaCare self-destructs.

Unfortunately, the full ramifications of this disaster won't be seen until well after the next election, after amnesty brings in millions more "takers" to the program and after the obama's are out peddling their next fictional autobiographies while not having to be on the short end of the healthcare stick (long waits to see inferior physicians who will provide limited care depending on age and "value to society").

Why do you think Obama has delayed so many of the bill's most unpopular parts until 2016 or beyond?

Obama thinks the Republicans have caused all the "crises" associated with this bill.

Not that employers aren't hiring and putting more and more employees on part-time employment.

Or his own Democrats calling it a "train wreck" and "beyond comprehension".

Nah...that's not it.

Perhaps because knowingly submitting fraudulent evidence will get you sent to prison and bent over in the shower?
Prove your case. Submit that document as evidence.
And, precedents? I've actually got a life. Perhaps you can post those "precedents" again so I can have a look at your supposed proof you copied and pasted from some propaganda site, which is your most noted MO. I'm going to get something quick to eat now. I'll be back to look at your work in a little while. Later, I'll be attending to my other life. You should try it.

Like I said last night, Republicans need to just tell the American people they tried their best and say it's the Democrats' baby.

And stand by not raising the debt ceiling that's right around the corner again.

And wait until 2014.

Obama is relishing this shutdown far too much.

Yes, absolutely agree. When single payer healthcare was first brought about in Canada; similar ignorant remarks were made; "Oh, it's socialism, it's communism, etc"; well, now no Canadian would give it up. Imagine an entire country that doesn't have to worry about going bankrupt if they have to have surgery?
The entire world looks at these teabaggers in wonderment! Who wouldn't want to have healthcare? Seriously?
While you are at it, tell about their politicans and wealthy who either pay out of pocket for faster, better care and/or travel to the US.

July 2013
Long waits for surgery and medical treatment cost Canadians more than $982 million in lost time and productivity last year, a new Fraser Institute report says.

The study, The Private Cost of Public Queues for Medically Necessary Care, calculates that the 870,462 patients who waited for surgery last year lost an average of $1,129.

When hours outside the work week are factored in, including evenings and weekends (less than eight hours of sleep per night), the estimated cost of waiting increases to about $3,447 per patient — more than $3 billion in total.

“Canadians face some of the longest waits for health care in the developed world. This creates unnecessary pain and suffering for patients and their families and reduces their ability to participate fully in their lives,” said Nadeem Esmail, the think-tank's director of health policy studies.

Canadians waited 9.3 weeks, on average, between an appointment with a specialist and treatment, for a total loss of time of 10.6 million weeks. That wait didn't include the delay in getting to see a specialist in the first place.

The average wait in Ontario was the shortest among the provinces — seven weeks on average. Heart patients waited a full week, on average, before receiving emergency surgery, while people with broken bones and damaged ligaments waited nearly 18 weeks to see an orthopedic surgeon.

Medical costs, such as increased risk of mortality or adverse consequences resulting from long delays for treatment, are also not included in the $982-million figure.

June 2013

OTTAWA — Wait times for medical treatment aren't getting any shorter, according to a report by the Wait Times Alliance.

"Not only has there been no progress over the last year in wait times in any of the five priority areas, in many instances Canadians are waiting longer now than they were two years ago," WTA chair Dr. Chris Simpson said Tuesday.

The WTA looked at five priority areas — cancer care, cardiac care, joint replacement, sight restoration and diagnostic imaging — and found that even where wait times aren't increasing, the aging population is putting increased demand on a medical system unable to meet them.

Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq said the feds have made "targeted investments" of $6.5 billion to help address wait times.

However, the WTA's eight annual report, released Tuesday, concluded the problem goes beyond money needs.

"Additional funding is not the sole solution," Simpson said, adding that when short-term funds are added, they lead only to short-term improvement. "The best route is to look at how wait times are mitigated, measured, monitored and managed."

Aglukkaq also highlighted the government's long-term funding arrangement "that will see transfers reach historic levels of $40 billion by the end of the decade."

But with Canada's aging population all but guaranteed to put increasing demand on the medical system, Simpson said a national strategy is needed.

Aglukkaq says that is why the government is investing in more than 10,000 health research projects.

Many Canadians travel to the US for treatment rather than jeopardizing their lives waiting in line in Canada.
