The Office of Personnel Management ruled Monday that members of Congress and their staffs will be able to buy health care plans that pay for abortions, even though the premiums are funded largely by taxpayer money — a move that conservatives say breaks federal law on abortion funding.

Under the terms of Obamacare, lawmakers and their aides are required to ditch their government-sponsored plans and buy insurance on state-based health care exchanges, though unlike most people on the exchanges, the staffers and members will have most of the costs of their premiums paid by their employer — in this case, taxpayers.

CNSNews.com )- Former Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat, said he has “no regrets” in casting what was effectively the decisive voted in enacting Obamacare in 2010.

At the same time, Stupak says that the Obamacare regulation, backed by President Barack Obama, that orders virtually all health care plans to cover without fees or co-pay sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion-inducing drugs is “wrong” and “violates freedom of religion.”

For months leading up to passage of the Patient Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, Stupak led a group of pro-life Democrats who said they would not support the legislation unless it included an amendment strictly prohibiting taxpayer funding of abortion. Stupak held firm until the day of the final vote when Obama promised to sign an executive order that satisfied Stupak.

Democrats should vote to fund the government only if a ban on assault rifles were included.

Would Republicans negotiate on that? You know, which assault rifles to ban, maybe clip size?

What would Republicans say if Democrats shut down government over it?

Obama's parents met in 1960 in a Russian class at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where his father was a foreign student on scholarship.[7][8] The couple married in Wailuku on Maui on February 2, 1961,[9][10] and separated when Obama's mother moved with their newborn son to Seattle, Washington, in late August 1961, to attend the University of Washington for one year. In the meantime, Obama, Sr. completed his undergraduate economics degree in Hawaii in June 1962, then left to attend graduate school at Harvard University on a scholarship. Obama's parents divorced in March 1964.[11] Obama Sr. returned to Kenya in 1964 where he remarried; he visited Barack in Hawaii only once, in 1971.[12] He died in an automobile accident in 1982 when his son was 21 years old.[13]
In 1963, Dunham met Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian East–West Center graduate student in geography at the University of Hawaii, and the couple were married on Molokai on March 15, 1965.[14] After two one-year extensions of his J-1 visa, Lolo returned to Indonesia in 1966, followed sixteen months later by his wife and stepson in 1967, with the family initially living in a Menteng Dalam neighborhood in the Tebet subdistrict of south Jakarta, then from 1970 in a wealthier neighborhood in the Menteng subdistrict of central Jakarta.[15] From ages six to ten, Obama attended local Indonesian-language schools: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School for two years and Besuki Public School for one and a half years, supplemented by English-language Calvert School homeschooling by his mother.[16]
Problem is...Obama has the exact same features as Frank Marshall and looks nothing like Barack Obama, Sr.

A first year genetics student could tell you there's a glaring inconsistency.

Even you would pick Marshall as Obama's father if you didn't know who the three men were just be comparing their pictures.

Except for those who never had insurance or are now working part-time and unless one's employer has made it clear they are no longer covered, how is everyone else supposed to know if they are still insured and will continue to have coverage in the future?

What if one lives in a state that has opted out or has a coveted waiver and/or special exemptions or delays such as corporations and Congress?

What if the 1 in 4 Americans who only a few months ago didn't know it was the law of the land still don't know by now?

What if most Americans decide to sit and wait to see what happens and postpone getting on the exchanges due to confusion or uncertainty?

What if the CBO was right about the estimated 30 million who will still be uninsured?

What if the uninsured don't care about the consequences or the hassle of getting on the exchanges?

What if those paying higher premiums decide to pay the penalty instead?

The point, of course, is if this is the great health reform Obama and Reid promised, why are there so many what ifs?

And does anyone really believe most people are waking up this morning and hurrying to sign up for government exchanges in the midst of all these what ifs?

Any clarity from anyone on the left would be appreciated.

But what's funny to me is if all the hype and hysteria about DemoCare turns out to be nothing but a big dud and it dies without a whimper.

Good morning everyone.

Obamacare trade-off: Lower premium, higher deductible
WASHINGTON — You might be pleased with the low monthly premium for one of the new health insurance plans under Obama’s takeover, but the added expense of copayments and deductibles will burn a hole in your wallet.

here's your denial.

Poll Indicates GOP Has Been Deeply Damaged By Shutdown Fight

Republicans in Washington insist they have simply been upholding the wishes of the American people throughout their efforts to block the Affordable Care Act, but a poll released Tuesday tells a very different story.

In fact, the latest survey from Quinnipiac University contains a ton of bad news for the GOP. For starters, 72 percent of Americans said they are opposed to shutting down the government in order to block implemntation of the health care law. A poll last week also showed a wide majority opposed to shutting down the government over Obamacare.

The federal government shut down for the first time since 1996 on Tuesday morning amid Republican-led efforts to include policy concessions on the health care law in must-pass bills to fund the government.

While Quinnipiac's poll showed that the Affordable Care Act remains polarizing — 45 percent support it while 47 percent are opposed — 58 percent said they are opposed to Congress cutting off funding for the law. Seventy-four percent said they disapprove of congressional Republicans while only 17 percent said they approve — their lowest score ever in Quinnipiac's polling.

Democrats in Congress came out marginally better in the poll — 32 percent approve while 60 percent disapprove — but the party may enter next year's midterm elections with an upper-hand over the GOP.

The poll showed that voters gave the nod to a generic Democrat over a generic Republican ahead of the 2014 congressional races, 43 percent to 34 percent. According to Quinnipiac, that's the widest advantage enjoyed by Democrats on that particular question.

the republicans have no clue as to what the American people want.

WTF.
Look, Bozo, if you think the photo ID is the answer to stopping all fraud & criminal activity then go door to door to make sure everyone gets one.
Don't demand this special form of ID that can only be obtained in a special place at a special time.
And how many places can you get one of these in Kentucky?? How many in each county?
This is why I know your plan is to rig elections./
Because if you really gave a crap about the security aspects, you would make them more convenient to obtain.
Photo ID centers in polling places, Walmart CVS, Post Office etc. All it takes is a digital camera & laptop. Get the info, check & copy ID, take picture & a photo Dis mailed.
Why haven't Republicans made this kind of effort? I now why, do you?

Responding to the Avalere study, the Obama administration acknowledged the new plans aren’t as generous as employer coverage, but said they nonetheless represent a big improvement over currently available individual policies, which can have gaps in coverage and even larger out-of-pocket costs.

Certainly if you are willing to stop millions from voting you have some kind of proof of significant voter fraud that a photo ID will stop.

According to a Pew Research Center poll last week, 39% of Americans say they will blame Republicans for a government shutdown; 36% said President Obama would be to blame with 17% saying both should be blamed.

http://www.people-press.org/2013/09/23/blame-...

After Benghazi, the IRS fiasco, the Syrian showdown that made Obama look weak and Putin strong, the total confusion and inconsistencies surrounding the health care reform and the Democrats total unwillingness to even compromise an inch after passing it along strict party lines...

...the blame gap is narrowing...and the thrill is gone up Matthews' leg.
