Barack Obama, our next President

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep," Obama cautioned. Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama smashed through racial barriers and easily defeated ... Full Story

If your financial position is so limited at your age that you still need life insurance, Homer needs to get busy....but your life insurance will make the next guy happy.

<quoted text>We already have socialized medicine, it's call Medicare. Why not get you and your fellow rightwingers to quit using it and we can save billions of dollars.
Homer, you haven't seen socialized medicine in this country yet.

A front-page story in the New York Times detailed the European cutbacks due to socialized medicine. According to the article, Britain, France and Germany are all being forced to limit access to care. Rationing, already extensive, is increasing.

The Europeans ran into a very simple economic rule. If something is perceived as free, people will consume more of it than they would if they had to pay for it.

Eventually the government runs out of other people's money.

And if you're going to use Medicare as an example here, it's going bankrupt. The Democrats refuse to even reform it before it does.

How can that make any sense to even a reasonably logical person?

Government doctors will not make appointments...just show up at the clinic and wait on line with the welfare folks.

Maybe you should try testosterone and shave your head, women like bald men. Or, maybe an earing!!~!

Jiminy Cricket, Homer! Please tell me you AT LEAST know about the backlogs in the Department of Veterans' Affairs and veterans having to wait forever to receive benefits!

And tell me you AT LEAST know that Medicare and Social Security aren't going to be sustainable!

How on God's green earth can you possibly even think the government can manage over 300 million people's medical care?

Unless you really don't know anything about anything.

It sad that 67 million was for indirect costs charged to different accounting & not the fund to set up for the ACA.
You people are sofa ing stupid, you can't even understand it even its right in front of your face.

I believe Carol is an expert on African studies, or is it African-American?

No matter, she's probably a self proclaimed expert on both, along with liberals, Democrats, history, the American Experience, socialism, and basket weaving.

Personal? Can I tell that to the IRS when they ask if I have health insurance?

So you were never a 20 something who bought health insurance. Not that I can blame you, there weren't many.

Homer went from dirt poor to middle class so I am quite happy with my financial position and what I have accomplished to date, the 'next guy' happens to be my wife, who is female before all you closeted rightwingers start in so I'm just making sure she has more than enough in the event of my untimely death.

Of course if my death is untimely please for the love of God look to her as the main suspect.
