"Yesterday, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it would be reversing some of the cuts to Medicare Advantage scheduled to be implemented in 2014 — specifically, instead of cutting per-person reimbursement rates by 2 percent next year as they’d proposed in February, CMS will increase them by about 3 percent. This doesn’t, however, have any effect on the health-care reform law’s long-term plans for the private program, which will slowly cut Medicare Advantage’s funding to the levels of traditional Medicare, pushing customers into the latter program. "
Note the part where this has no effect of the ACA panned savings.
You love to post propaganda without any sources, but in the real work Dumb Dave, people are seeing Health Care costs skyrocket, their jobs being eliminated or hours reduced so they will be forced into the Health Care Abyss. Others like with UPS are seeing their spouses dropped from coverage.

Not a pretty picture. Yet, as usual, you are oblivious to the reality of what is occurring. You sit at your table all day, not impacted and detached from reality.

There's no way to replace the entire USPS without changing/eliminating some important laws and regulations. I don't think congress will get on board with doing that anytime soon.
The primary reason being that the necessary changes would require massive layoffs of personnel.

The USPS is obsolete as a result of modern technology.

The average American saves at least $100 per year in postage by paying bills online, and this loss of revenue is devastating to the USPS. Companies that no longer mail bills to customers save a similar amount.

So, tell us how the USPS can survive when there is no possibility of generating additional revenue.

Except for their huge fiscal losses, I'd actually say that the Postal Service is one of the more successful examples of government (along with the REA). Privatizing it would probably be a boon at this point though.....
Please explain any benefit/need of the USPS to the average person.

Only you would believe that instead of cutting costs by $2.20 and going to add $3.30, a swing of $5.50, won't change the planned savings.

<quoted text> You do know the post office just asked Congress for an emergency rate increase? When the cost gets high enough that private enterprise can do it cheaper it will happen. Getting rid of home delivery for non express mail would be a start. Group boxes, as Galt suggested, should be done first.
The more that USPS raises their rates, the more business they will lose.

Group boxes allow one driver in a truck to do the work of several carriers on foot.

Delivery could be reduced to three days per week and nobody would know the difference, because nothing urgent is ever sent by mail.

The fire departments in this area will not enter a house unless there is a claim of someone being inside. Even then the degree of the fire will still cause them to not enter. They just pull up outside, blow out the windows with 1000 gallon a minute hoses, and then go in afterwards to put out the embers. All wood truss commercial buildings have a big 'T' on the door. They lost a couple of guys some years ago down the street. If that 'T' is on the door they aren't going inside.

I responded to Flack's cut & paste post with no source so why should I post a source in response.

As for your pack of BS, UPS only cut spouses who were eligible for health benefits at their place of employment.

Cleaning out the terrorist training camps in Afghanistan was the correct thing to do. The war should have ended with that.
