Social justice? Loving your neighbor as yourself and giving to the poor was a message given to each and every one of us personally. Christ didn't advocate big government - or Cesar - to be the collective conscience of the people and to take their money involuntarily to waste and squander.<quoted text>
Jesus was a liberal Carol, in fact he was the ultimate liberal with his message of social justice. I guess that makes him an obnoxious loon too.
"Give to Cesar's what is Cesar's" was a direct admonishment to pay our taxes - and "give to God what is God's" was a direct admonishment to give our own money to the poor out of love.
Christ's version of "social justice" was the condition of each individual heart. Love God first and then do for others.
Do you think big government is interested in loving God first? You're actually worshipping big government.
Cesar never entered the picture in Christ's teaching. Neither does Obama. We are simply admonished to pray for our leaders. Not put them on a pedestal before God.
