Subtract the military setting and the backdrop of the nation's capital, and you have a tragically common event: workplace homicide. Nobody shows up for work anticipating a spray of gunfire into the employee cafeteria. But homicides account for 1 out of 10 fatal on-the-job injuries, according to a 2010 study by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.[...]
Eighty percent of those homicides involved guns. The shooters included robbers, estranged partners and angry clients; co-workers or former co-workers accounted for only 12 percent.[...]
Police in Washington haven't volunteered a motive in the Navy Yard carnage. There's no evidence of terrorism, they say, but they haven't ruled it out. In the end, like so many workplace attacks, it could well be attributed to two things: A lethal grudge. And a gun.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/ed...
So, how do we prevent these Democrats from committing mass murder?

Part of the security for the Navy Yard is the security clearance required.
How did this person get a security clearance? Obviously, he should not have.

But, if he didn't have a security clearance, he would have just killed a bunch of defenseless white people somewhere else.

Why are mass murderers attracted to the Democratic Party?

If we took all the guns away from Democrats, wouldn't that prevent all these mass murders?

Never said "half of the country" was exclusively the Tea Party. You did.

I said the majority now disapprove of Obama's leadership. Some of them are on your side of the fence.

It appears we have another mass murdering Democrat.
It should be overwhelmingly obvious by now mass murderers are attracted to the Democratic Party: DC sniper, Virginia Tech, Columbine, Fort Hood, Aurora theater, Sandy Hook, and now the Washington Navy Yard. The events when Democrats commit mass murder are so common, it's difficult to remember all of them.
Mass murderers are attracted to the Democratic Party. The mass murdering Democrats that do the killing themselves are obvious. What isn't obvious is the mass murderers that don't do the killing themselves, like Ho Chi Minh, Mao, Stalin and Hitler.
How many of those are in the Democratic Party? And, how many Eichmans and Bormanns are there in the Democratic Party? Recent history identifies one mass murderer used by the Democrats: Larry Potts (headed both the Ruby Ridge assassinations and Waco mass murders), and was nominated by Bill Clinton to be the number two man in the FBI in charge of the domestic agenda.
Maybe we should just outlaw guns for democrats.

<quoted text>And let no crisis go to waste Obama makes a tacky speech about Republicans instead of speaking like a leader.
I suspect that more than anything, Obama was intent on shifting the debate away from his dismal and shameful performance in the Syria issue back to pure, raw, partisan politics. He is good at pointing fingers, laying blame and leveling accusations at the Republicans because he knows that in this fight, at least he has partisan and media cover.
As for the timing; Obama has no heart, no soul, no conscience; the death of 12 innocent people at the naval facility is of no consequence. He is a political automaton and he is driven solely by his ideological program.
We're going to hear about workplace violence instead of how Democrats took weapons off military bases.
But meanwhile, if Michelle had a son, he'd look like the ugly thug that did the shooting.
In order for him to speak like a leader, he actually has to be one.

If getting treatment for an existing condition isn't "health care", what is it? Do you know how many people come to the emergency room for routine and preventative medicine?

Well then, if you want a candidate who never so much as utters they are pro-life even without elaborating, you're going to alienate a significant number of conservative voters.
Because that question is going to come up in the debates every single election cycle.
Even black voters are switching parties in part because of this issue.
However, I agree with you that conservative candidates who are pro-life (and remember Giuliani was pro-choice) should be very cautious as to how much emphasis they allow the opposition to push this issue just to entrap them. But it's always going to be an issue. They just have to learn how to outsmart them without losing the higher ground.
But to label "fundamentalist Christians" as "anti-abortion radicals" is rather naïve on your part. No offense, but it's more of a moral issue and many oppose it on both sides...fundamentalist Christians or not.
Bingo! So, what you are saying is that anti abortion is your most compelling issue in voting.

But let me say this about the Tea Party to avoid any potential confusion as far as I'm concerned.

The Tea Party was a movement. It demanded government accountability after the bottom fell out.

When Republicans were elected to the House in 2010 by the people belonging to this movement, the left quickly labeled them the "Tea Party" in Congress.

Those elected officials were elected by the people in that movement and should have distanced themselves from that label once they got to Capital Hill.

There is no third party called the "Tea Party". These elected officials merely represent those who have had enough.

It's about time all Americans start saying they've had enough.

Last year was a record low point. So this year is not a record low does not men everything is back to normal.
Sea ice extent for August 2013 averaged 6.09 million square kilometers (2.35 million square miles). This was 1.13 million square kilometers (398,000 square miles) below the 1981 to 2010 average for August, but well above the level recorded last year, which was the lowest September extent in the satellite record. Ice extent this August was similar to the years 2008 to 2010. These contrasts in ice extent from one year to the next highlight the year-to-year variability attending the overall, long-term decline in sea ice extent"

Want health care? Do these things:
1) Don't drop out of school.
2) Study something useful to the economy while you're in school.
3) Don't have children before you're married.
4) Get a job, and show up for work every day on time.
5) Do what you're paid to do while you're at work.
In what the United States used to be, doing the above would allow you to afford very good health care. My parents were semi-literate, and they afforded good enough health care for 5 kids by doing that.
Why isn't that true today?
Because they are just poor, helpless victims of society and they deserve everything for free. Oh wait, I forgot, many of them are ILLEGAL as well.

He was allowed to have a security clearance because he was black. Had he been white, there is no way in hell anyone with a background like that would have been given a clearance.
Why are the standards different for black people than for white people?
There are very many black people working in the Navy Yard. He didn't shoot any black people. He only shot defenseless white people.
I suppose this could be Obama's son, too.

You probably think the global warming issue being put to rest once and for all is another of his miracles.
Go ahead and just admit it.
Carol, you do realize that Global warming causes the sea levels to rise so reducing the greenhouse emissions to reduce the effects of global warming would lessen that sea level increase.

India & China are smart enough to know that Global Warming needs to be addresses. Too bad you are not.

Why won't Issa issue the subpoenas?
Let's see now...

Could it be this administration is stonewalling the investigations?

CNN (August 1, 2013)- After ignoring requests for months, the State Department has left no alternative but to issue subpoenas for documents relevant to our investigation,” Issa said in a statement.“State Department tactics to delay and impede accountability have exhausted the Committee’s patience. Further subpoenas may also be necessary if the Department is not forthcoming on other requests.

...or perhaps the State Department, a.k.a. John Kerry, is not willing to cooperate?

The Hill (September 10, 2013)- The chairman of the Oversight panel, which is leading the Benghazi investigation, threatened Tuesday to subpoena Americans wounded in the terror attack.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) wrote to Secretary of State John Kerry, giving him until Sept. 24 to make the witnesses available. The State Department has said it wouldn't force recalcitrant employees to talk to lawmakers but Issa pointed out that several have talked to media outlets and were interviewed by the State Department's independent panel investigation Benghazi last year.

...yes, I believe that's it.
