<quoted text>Nope. Only war I ever supported was Star Wars [and not all six conflicts]. Assad has gone from being the younger son of a ruthless dictator to a ruthless dictator himself. There's obviously a bit of hypocrisy on both sides in this affair, but I have to say that watching Republican pols and conservative pundits get on their high horses about Syria has been pretty nauseating. These are guys who mostly have never met a war they didn't like, and until a few months ago were practically baying at the moon to demand that that President Obama stop diddling around and get serious about aiding the rebels and taking out the monstrous Basar al-Assad. But now? Butter wouldn't melt in their mouths as they talk piously about the value of multilateral support; the need to give diplomacy a chance; the perils of regional blowback; and the fear of escalation if Assad retaliates. You'd think they'd all just returned from a Save the Whales conference in Marin County.
There are some Republicans who are perfectly serious about their desire not to get entangled in yet another Middle Eastern conflict. But most of them couldn't care less. Obama is for it, so they're against it. It's pretty hard to take.

I'd give just about anything to be a fly on the wall when Obama and Putin sit down to talk about Syria this week at the G20 summit. You would too, I'm sure.
Hate to say it because Obama IS America's representative on the world stage, but Putin is going to play him like a Stradivarius violin. And, therefore, the rest of us. In Putin's eyes, America voted for him. Isn't that right liberals and confused moderates?
Well let's see son.

The last president to ask for Russian "permission" was bushie boy.

Seems not only was bushie played, but so were you cons! Out-conned by a com!

You must be proud!

I think that Putin sent those Russian bombers here to bomb the Boston Marathon. I think it's all connected to Syria.
You want to trust the Russians? Seriously?
Why are you asking your fellow Democrats about Snowden?

If Obama is wrong in "sending a message across the bow" and it results in more chemical weapons being unleashed on Syrians and perhaps even Israelis in protest by Assad and Iran, not only is his presidency over and done with but it could actually trigger WWIII.

It's why there are real and justified reservations. Liberals have always have been handicapped in envisioning the much bigger picture. Politics and power always seems to create a blind spot.

No. The Russians and the Chechen Muslims are mortal enemies.

Just as likely that Obama ordered the CIA to gas Syrians.

Only blind simpletons don't care about Benghazi or the strong arm of the IRS abusing its power because the liberal media told them not to.

You're such a good little liberal, Lily. Obama would give you a kiss on the mouth if he could for your outstanding loyalty to progressive liberalism and the ultimate goal of destroying traditional values and the competitive free market.

Stand tall, solider. You're in Obama's Army now.

Putin won't be listening. If they are ever together, Putin will be doing it merely as a formality. When Putin called Kerry a liar in front of the whole world, what he was saying is there is no reason to even listen to anything the United States has to say.
Putin thinks meeting with Obama is a waste of time. I suppose he feels that way because, like most people have deduced here, he knows Obama just a show puppet and doesn't have a clue about what is happening in the world. I can imagine how the conversation will go. Putin starts talking specifics, and Obama just regurgitates some idealistic party line dogma as if he's giving a speech to a crowd of mindless minions. There's no reason to even meet with someone like that if you're a head of state.

What Putin did when he called Kerry a liar in front of the whole world was saying there's no reason to even meet with the government of the United States about anything because all you will hear will be more lies from them.

How in hell did we get to a point where our credibility is so bad, even a president of a country openly calls the Secretary of State a liar?

We have more than enough oil, gas and coal right here.
So why do liberals resist our having access to them?
Probably the same reason they don't want inner city children and their parents to have a choice over getting a good education.
What's up with you liberals anyway?
You love complaining about poor people but have no qualms about condemning them to a life of poverty in poor schools and love complaining about oil being the reason for recent wars but condemn any effort to get access to our own resources.
Actually kind of kooky, wouldn't you say?

Yep. Except for Russia, France and Germany the entire world was 'handicapped' by bushie boy's assessment of wmd's in iraq.

You mean providing food and tents to the survivors? No action to prevent the genocide for the victims?

I'm sure the survivors appreciate it until they're next.

Seriously, Lily. Your blind spot is affecting your mental ability to function.

The purpose of the UN should be to PREVENT atrocities. Yet, they sit on their hands while the atrocities take place and then act like they're the humanitarians of the world after the fact.

But the world is spinning off its axis these days and probably why you're so disoriented.
