Obama is requesting support from congress to engage in a full scale war NOT just lobbying a few missiles as the poster I replied to stated.
OK, but war is war regardless of the extent, and "lobbing a few missiles" is war.

Obama is determined to put Al Qaeda in power.

What difference is there RealStupid between this and Saddam's WMD?
"Two agencies were charged with the task. UNSCOM would uncover and destroy Iraq's biological- and chemical-weapons and ballistic-missile programs; the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was charged with uncovering and dismantling Iraq's clandestine nuclear program.

From 1991 to 1998 UNSCOM and IAEA carried out numerous inspections in Iraq, but with varying degrees of success.

For the first few years, Iraqi officials failed to disclose much of their special weapons programs to the inspectors. In 1995, Saddam Hussein's son-in-law Kamel Hussein defected. He had been in charge of the bioweapons program and revealed to UNSCOM that there was a vast arsenal of weapons they had failed to uncover, including biological weapons, and described how the Iraqis were hiding them. This was a breakthrough for the inspection teams, and they continued their work until 1998, when Iraq blocked further access and expelled UNSCOM."

Gosh I guess the Republicans were right after all.

The USDA has just approved a new generation of GMOs for use with more deadly herbicides than the toxic glyphosate that currently taints farms across America.

You wont hear about this on the mainstream though it was all done very quietly in the hopes that no one would notice...

It's nothing more than damage control and Obama saving face because he thought his "red line" threat would scare them.

Otherwise, there would be no talk of striking Syria. Obama needs permission to use military force from the rest of the world. Not Congress.

The difference is that if Obama were sitting in the WH on 9/11 and Saddam had been giving the UN the runaround to come clean about his WMDs post 9/11, the Democrats would remember how they ALL had considered him a threat just a few years before and more than just 111 would have supported toppling his regime then too.
And once the mass graves were uncovered, John Kerry would be in front of the cameras telling the American people it was the right thing to do because of Saddam's "crimes against humanity".
There was something to gain politically for Democrats to turn tail and let Bush hang out to dry, including John Kerry, when it was a matter of fighting the enemy on their own turf after they made Iraq the frontlines - and the "crimes against humanity" were of no importance anymore.
The difference between Iraq and Syria is it's now Obama's and Kerry's reputations on the line to intervene for humanitarian reasons. There hasn't even been another 9/11 and Syria didn't attack us either.
It's called hypocrisy of the highest order by the same weasels who care about human rights only when there's something to be gained politically.
The difference is that if Obama were sitting in the WH on 9/11

Philly Cabdriver Stabbed 11 Times in $205 Robbery

PHILADELPHIA September 2, 2013 (AP)

Police say a Philadelphia cabdriver has been stabbed 11 times by a pair of riders who stole $205 from him.

A police spokeswoman says the 37-year-old driver pulled his taxi over to let two men out shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday south of the city's center.

He says one man stood next to the driver's window and appeared to be getting money out of his wallet but then both of them stabbed the driver and grabbed his money.

The cabbie flagged down police and was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for wounds to his head, arm, chest, hand and neck.

The police spokeswoman says the wounds are superficial and the victim is in stable condition.

Police say one man has been arrested and another is being sought.

Amazing story out of Europe!! European men get taller, size of testicles decrease......:-)

Bigger and healthier: European men grow 11cm in a century

Sun Sep 1, 2013 7:01pm EDT

By Kate Kelland

LONDON, Sept 2 (Reuters)- The average height of European men grew by a surprising 11 centimetres from the early 1870s to 1980, reflecting significant improvements in health across the region, according to new research published on Monday.

Contrary to expectations, the study also found that average height accelerated in the period spanning the two World Wars and the Great Depression, when poverty, food rationing and hardship of war might have been expected to limit people's growth.

The swift advance may have been due to people deciding to have fewer children in this period, the researchers said, and smaller family size has previously been found to be linked to increasing average height.

The study, published online in the journal Oxford Economic Papers, analysed data on average men's height at around the age of 21 from the 1870s up to around 1980 in 15 European countries.
