No proof yet, but Booker is very evasive on that issue while he decides whether it is to his political advantage. Could be a game changer if Hillary is foolish enough to challenge him.
I don't think he's ready for national politics yet, but I do like him. Hillary polls as the front runner; I didn't think she was going to run, but it sure looks likely.

Leosnana tried to run me into the ground a few years ago because I happened to mention the same observation.
You see some of the most fancy "pimped up" cars around town with all the bells and whistles and can't help but think that a successful black man would not be driving something that gaudy and, if so, where did a young black man get that kind of money?
Selling drugs more than likely but it still makes you wonder.
A lower income middle class couple has to save enough money for a down payment on a house (unless one of them is a veteran), but if their income were just a little bit lower to qualify for a government loan, there'd be loans coming out the wazoo with cheaper mortgages.
No one disparages anyone from buying a home. But it does send the wrong message that there are perks to wanting less to get more. It does take a certain mentality of not minding being dependent on others for whatever reason - and sometimes it is for good reason - but most people would rather not be in that category and try to get by on their own with what they have.
There are many blacks who don't fall into that category either. But there are a significant number who do.
The real disparity it would seem is working just a little bit harder to make a little more money to get by on your own rather than being happy with less to get help from taxpayers including those who do work harder just to get by.
If I kept hearing the same message that it's somebody else's fault that I'm a victim, it'd probably be easier for me to jump on the government dependency bandwagon too.
But I'm in the white middle class category, so there's no one to blame and I have no choice but to pull my own weight.
Then again, I was expected to get an education, become independent and give back to society all my life.
Which is exactly what's lacking in many urban areas in the black community.
Like it or not liberals. Just ask Juan Williams.
(Also sorry if it posted twice...)
Liar. I wasn't around "a few years ago" and only suffer fools like you for a month or two at best. BTW, diabetes 2 statistics will tell you that you ARE your own victim and your weight--seldom pulled out of a chair in the last fourteen years--is responsible.

Well, not insulted but aghast at the gall of it all. I think she should take her message to the black community though since she truly believes that the answer to blacks problems is the Republican party. Put yer money where yer mouth is Aunt Batty, go for it.

A young man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. He saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.He asked, What are all these clocks?

St. Peter answered, Those are lie clocks. Everyone on earth has a lie clock. Oh said the man, Whose clock is that?
That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved indicating she's never told a lie.
Incredible, said the man. And whose clock is that one?
St. Peter responded, That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life.
Where is former President George W. Bush's clock, asked the man?
Bushes clock is in Jesus's office. He's using it as a ceiling fan.

Honest discussion and addressing the problems in the black community is the only way to solve them. It's a good thing, Homer.

But you go ahead and keep it a big secret and deny there are problems not being addressed.

Just like a good little liberal.

Clearly the only way in which a person can be discriminated against for life is by making him a felon. It's not right.

Because of ObamaKare, health care costs have risen and will continue to rise. Thanks to Obama, there will be no health care reform. At least not for many years, when people finally realize that the working people can't afford to send over half of the wages to the government.

Secret Service protection for Obama began after the Senator received a death threat in 2007, when Obama was still serving as then the junior Senator of Illinois and running for president. This marked the first time a candidate received such protection before being nominated. Security was increased early for Barack Obama due to fears of possible assassination attempts by white supremacist or other racist groups or individuals against the first African American major party presidential nominee. Some of the threats have been extended to members of Obama's family, including First Lady Michelle Obama

Republicans Hide Their Racist Disenfranchisement Efforts by Claiming MLK as Their Own

Every time a civil rights moment is commemorated, a Republican tries to take credit for it, as if somehow this will erase their utter contempt (evident in their policy and their rhetoric) for African Americans and minorities.

The 50th anniversary of the Dream is no different. Conservatives scampered to claim MLK, Jr. as a Republican. They claim black conservatives are giving rise to a “new civil rights movement” that oddly doesn’t include voting rights as an issue, but instead focuses conveniently on a “moral” message of independence and hard work. Somehow the voting rights will come to you if you just close your eyes and pray.

PolitiFact has to rate these Republican lies about Martin Luther King, Jr because they come around so often. They give it a big fat FALSE.

That didn’t stop black Republicans from trying to claim King again this year. It doesn’t seem to dawn on anyone in the party that the GOP doesn’t support anything that King stood for.

....Then came that glowing day a few months ago when a strong Civil Rights Bill became the law of our land. This bill, which was first recommended and promoted by President Kennedy, was passed because of the overwhelming support and perseverance of millions of Americans, Negro and white. It came as a bright interlude in the long and sometimes turbulent struggle for civil rights: the beginning of a second emancipation proclamation providing a comprehensive legal basis for equality of opportunity. Since the passage of this bill we have seen some encouraging and surprising signs of compliance. I am happy to report that, by and large, communities all over the southern part of the United States are obeying the Civil Rights Law and showing remarkable good sense in the process.

Another indication that progress is being made was found in the recent presidential election in the United States. The American people revealed great maturity by overwhelmingly rejecting a presidential candidate who had become identified with extremism, racism, and retrogression. The voters of our nation rendered a telling blow to the radical right. They defeated those elements in our society which seek to pit white against Negro and lead the nation down a dangerous Fascist path.

Let me not leave you with a false impression. The problem is far from solved. We still have a long, long way to go before the dream of freedom is a reality for the Negro in the United States. To put it figuratively in biblical language, we have left the dusty soils of Egypt and crossed a Red Sea whose waters had for years been hardened by a long and piercing winter of massive resistance. But before we reach the majestic shores of the Promised Land, there is a frustrating and bewildering wilderness ahead. We must still face prodigious hilltops of opposition and gigantic mountains of resistance. But with patient and firm determination we will press on until every valley of despair is exalted to new peaks of hope, until every mountain of pride and irrationality is made low by the leveling process of humility and compassion; until the rough places of injustice are transformed into a smooth plane of equality of opportunity; and until the crooked places of prejudice are transformed by the straightening process of bright-eyed wisdom.
