Something that I've been thinking about.
Why are we fighting a fire out in the middle of no where? When these fires happen why don't they concentrate the fire crews around buildings and such instead of out in the middle of nowhere? Why are fire breaks not required around all structures built in the woods? Before man was around who put out these fires? If these fires were allowed to burn freely (except around homes) there would be far fewer of them over time. Not allowing the deadwood to be burned off only makes these fires more intense.
Agree. Plus it's needed to resupply the soil with rich nutrients. Also some trees/plants need fire in order to release their seeds.

I'll ask you the same question.

Would you make the decision to keep YOUR mom on painkillers rather than surgery to stop the pain?

Obama thinks that might be the better solution.

So do you agree with him or not?

You elected him twice after all and, in doing so, his views about keeping mom on painkillers.

Hope to have your well thought out answer when I return.

So true. Obama decided not to look for bushie boy's wmd's.

And bushie boy also gave up on Bin Laden despite his promise to get him. But Obama saved his rear end there.

I am deeply angry about this because of the callous attitude of the three teenagers,” said Tim Fischer, a former deputy prime minister, in an interview with Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper,“[But] it’s a sign of the proliferation of guns on the ground in the U.S.A. There is a gun for almost every American.”
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/08...
John Howard, who served as prime minister of Australia from 1996 to 2007, is no one’s idea of a lefty. He was one of George W. Bush’s closest allies, enthusiastically backing the Iraq intervention, and took a hard line domestically against increased immigration and union organizing (pdf).
But one of Howard’s other lasting legacies is Australia’s gun control regime, first passed in 1996 in response to a massacre in Tasmania that left 35 dead. The law banned semiautomatic and automatic rifles and shotguns. It also instituted a mandatory buy-back program for newly banned weapons.
On Wednesday, Howard took to the Melbourne daily the Age to call on the United States, in light of the Aurora, Colo., massacre, to follow in Australia’s footsteps.“There are many American traits which we Australians could well emulate to our great benefit,” he concluded.“But when it comes to guns, we have been right to take a radically different path.”
So what have the Australian laws actually done for homicide and suicide rates? Howard cites a study (pdf) by Andrew Leigh of Australian National University and Christine Neill of Wilfrid Laurier University finding that the firearm homicide rate fell by 59 percent, and the firearm suicide rate fell by 65 percent, in the decade after the law was introduced, without a parallel increase in non-firearm homicides and suicides. That provides strong circumstantial evidence for the law’s effectiveness.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/...
so you tell me what the problem is. does that make it obvious enough even for you?
"A 2003 study from AIC, which looked at rates between 1991 and 2001, found that some of the decline in firearm-related homicides (and suicides as well) began before the reform was enacted. On the other hand, a 2006 analysis by scholars at the University of Sydney concluded that gun fatalities decreased more quickly after the reform. Yet another analysis, from 2008, from the University of Melbourne, concluded that the buyback had no significant effect on firearm suicide or homicide rates."

Obama said that might be a better solution.
If you are 90 years old & your knee gives you pain & the cure is knee replacement, then the pain killer is likely better than the surgery. When people get old, surgery can lead to a down hill skid with infections or complications & difficult recovery times. Its a benefit vs cost analysis.

Some doctors push to the big buck treatments on our elderly when it is not the best option.

Patients need to be given honest information regarding the pluses & minuses.

Why do you have a problem with that?

But in honor of MLK who once had a dream a man would be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin...a man's character doesn't "evolve" right before an election to get votes.
You and Realtime are the ones dishonoring MLK's dream by continually bringing up Obama's skin color every time someone criticizes his character.
Time for you both to look at the man in the mirror.
Obama, himself, is responsible for encouraging racial division. Perhaps if he had forgiven and forgotten the sins of his own party and moved on, we still wouldn't be talking about it and the old wounds of the past wouldn't have been opened again.
Again, it's great your proof is yourself.

Otherwise you'd have nothing.

Yes, it does. But I'm quite sure these decisions have been made for quite some time - without the IRS deciding it for us and changing the age to 65 instead of 80.

They control our medical decisions now - who gets what and when they get it under the government exchanges.

But you still don't get it though. Correct?

You do understand that the PostOffice is not an ordinary business, right?
You to realize that Congress changed the way it funds its pensions so that it must prepay them 75 years in the future? That this is the main cause of their problems?
You do realize that attempts to streamline were blocked by Congress right?
But hey, you & Galt keep blaming the workers & think that paying them minimum wage is the answer.

<quoted text>AUTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER TELLS THE MUSLIMS EITHER ACCEPT US OR LEAVE FOR ANOTHER COUNTRY: This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by the millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not, Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society..LEARN THE LANGUAGE!
Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian Principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.
It is certainly appropriate to display it on our walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.
We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept OURS AND LIVE in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.
THIS IS OUR COUNTRY, OUR CULTURE AND OUR LIFESTYLE, we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.
But once YOU ARE DONE complaining, whining, and griping about our Flag, our Pledge, Our Christian Beliefs or OUR WAY OF LIFE, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great Australian freedom. THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!
If you aren't happy here then LEAVE! We didn't force you too come here. So accept the country you accepted.
WOW, finally a Leader who places His Country, His God, before any other gods. I wonder why the USA, Canada and other countries don't do the same? When in Rome you do as the Romans..is a famous quote.
Trust me if you go to any Arab country, you have to dress the way the women dress there or else you are jailed, tortured, whipped and who knows what else might happen to you. I will not travel to any of those countries and we are told to stay away..with reason.

Probably for the same reason child abusers don't like being called child abusers. Because that's what you are. You seem to have no problem keeping children in poverty.

It's easy to falsely accuse someone of something they aren't guilty of. Hopefully, you'll figure it out one of these days.

It was happening everywhere. Physicians are now being bribed with more money to take Medicare patients because Obamacare depends on it and many were leaving it by the droves.
Total bullsht. My doctor doesn't give Vitamin B12 shots to anyone for any reason particularly old ladies looking for one more reason to get something free from the nice doctor once or twice per month.

This is the Republican way - their party first & foremost, the country maybe second or third down the lost.
