House Republicans Embark On a Harebrained Scheme That Only a Moron Could Believe In

House Republican leaders have armed their members with their August recess talking point. If you hate government, it is all Obama’s fault.

The AP reports,“House Republicans will take a carefully orchestrated, staunchly anti-Washington campaign to voters this month, blaming President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats for Americans’ unhappiness with government.” The AP story goes on to mention that it might be difficult for House Republicans to blame Democrats and Obama for everything being that they control the House of Representatives, but John Boehner’s spokesperson Michael Steel already had an answer for that,“We have control of only one-half of one-third of the federal government.”

The House Republican argument is that you hate the government because Republicans don’t control enough of it. This argument ignores the fact that most Americans are upset with Washington because there is no cooperation, and it is House Republicans who are behind the vast majority of the gridlock. Then there is the problem of the policies that House Republicans are advocating. John Boehner’s Circus of Dysfunction can only seem to agree on doing one thing, voting repeatedly to repeal Obamacare. That’s it. The House has wasted 15% of their time in session trying to repeal Obamacare.

The whole blame Obama for everything trick is nothing new. It has been the GOP’s go to move since January of 2009, but what Republicans have always ignored is that even at his lowest, President Obama is more popular than they are. Obama is roughly four times more popular than Congress right now, so House Republicans have decided that they will blame the president for everything.

This strategy will play well in their gerrymandered House districts, which is the entire point. House Republicans never stop thinking about what plays well in their districts. All those votes to repeal Obamacare show the folks back home that the House is working for them. To the rest of the country the whole thing is moronic, but Republicans view this as their path to keeping their majority.

Once again, House Republicans are back in their districts promising to do nothing, but oppose Obama. It sells well there, but it also destroys the national party. As Republican Steve Schmidt recently told The New York Times,“They are totally insulated from public opinion on this because of redistricting. Republicans are gonna continue to hold the House. But then we’ll head into the 2016 presidential election where the electorate is likely to be 2 percent less white than it was in 2012 and 4 percent less white than it was in 2008. This is a simple math equation.’

House Republicans have embraced a plan that only an idiot could love. They are going to insult the majority of the country by pretending like we are all stupid and don’t know what is really going on. It isn’t just insulting. It is should be offensive to anyone with one functioning brain cell, and it is destroying the Republican Party.

Republican governors sounded the alarm this past weekend over threats by some members of their party to risk a government shutdown in a quixotic effort to defund Obamacare, The New York Times reported.
Attending the summer meeting of the National Governors Association in Milwaukee, a host of GOP state leaders said that, despite their own misgivings about the new federal health care law, the effort by Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rand Paul (R-KY) could bring both economic and political risks.
“I have made the case that Obamacare is not good for the economy, but I have some real concerns about potentially doing something that would have a negative impact on the economy just for the short term — I think there are other ways to pursue this,” Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said, according to the Times.
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant (R), who blocked the health care law's Medicaid expansion in his state, wondered how long his party will go to the mat to gut President Barack Obama's signature legislative achievement.
“How much blood are we going to leave on the floor over this?” he said, according to the Times.
The call to defund Obamacare has created something of a schism on the right. Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer wrote last week that the effort by Lee, Rubio and Paul is "nuts." Sens. Bob Corker (R-TN) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) have also spoken out forcefully against the push.

Washington Congresswoman Gives Birth to ‘Miracle Baby’ After Refusing Abortion
July 29, 2013
Beutler PORTLAND – A Republican congresswoman from Washington has given birth to a ‘miracle baby’ after refusing abortion as an option when told that the chances of the child’s survival were small.

Representative Jamie Herrera Beutler and her husband Daniel announced the birth of the child, a girl, on her Facebook page on Monday.

“With great joy, gratitude and hope, we are pleased to share with you the news of the birth of our daughter, Abigail Rose Beutler, on Monday, July 15 at 3:13 AM at Emanuel Legacy hospital in Portland. She weighed two pounds, twelve ounces and was only 28 weeks along,” the announcement read.“She is every bit a miracle.”

Earlier this year, Beutler, 34, was informed that Abigail had a fatal condition known as Potter’s Syndrome. The baby’s lungs were not developing properly due to a lack of amniotic fluid and would likely die, the doctors said. Therefore, Beutler was given the option of either aborting Abigail or letting the baby die on her own. But being pro-life and a Christian, Beutler knew that there was really only one choice: to trust God.

“Multiple doctors explained that based on medical evidence her condition was incompatible with life and that, if she survived to term, she would be unable to breathe and live only moments after birth,” the family explained.“The options we were offered were termination or ‘expectant management,’ that is, waiting for her to die. Instead, we chose to pray earnestly for a miracle.”

However, a group of doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital was willing to try a test procedure to see if it might help encourage the child’s lungs to grow. Beutler received regular injections of saline and prayed for a miracle.

“There was no way to know if this treatment would be effective or to track lung development, but with hearts full of hope, we put our trust in the Lord and continued to pray for a miracle,” Beutler’s husband stated.

The congresswoman went into labor early, but little Abigail survived. She made her entrance into the world with a healthy cry. However, as her kidneys were not functioning, she was transported to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in California where she underwent surgery, and received dialysis treatment.

“As far as every doctor we’ve spoken with knows, Abigail is the first baby with bilateral renal agenesis to breathe sustainably on her own,” Beutler’s husband marveled.“We are grateful to the thousands who joined us in praying for a miracle. But most of all, we are grateful to God for answering those prayers.”

The family says that they will be sharing more of Beutler’s miracle story in the future. Abigail is now two weeks old and the congresswoman is doing well.

Beutler has been serving in office in 2007, when she was appointed to the Washington House of Representatives to replace Richard Curtis, who resigned following sex scandal allegations. She retained her seat in an election the following year, and again won by a landslide in 2012.

Rush Limbaugh and the Republicans' vote-losing sex phobia

Between Limbaugh's 'slut' insult and Santorum's prohibitionism, it seems that GOP now stands for Grand Old Puritan party

....The sense that a candidate is having sex is a much more powerful and positive attribute than the sense that he is not.(Bill Clinton, most obviously.)

That is, actually, the corner the Republicans have gotten themselves into now. For some time, the conservative subtext has been to suggest that the liberals were less flesh-and-blood than the visceral Republicans. One was fey, the other strong. One snobbish and remote, the other popular and direct. The message here was simple: Republican men are men.

The present field of Republican men, together with Rush's anger at liberals for having sex, recasts these roles. The liberals, after a long time in the wilderness, are emerging as the much more sexy bunch.

When he doesn't go and attend 60% of the detailed presidential daily briefings that come from the CIA and thinks he can just skim it, skim the summary paper on his iPad instead of sitting down and engaging in what -- I was in the White House with George Herbert Walker Bush. He took that brief everyday. George W. Bush took it everyday and I believe that Bill Clinton took it everyday. This president thinks he's smarter than those guys and he doesn't have to engage in the discussion. That's the most important half-hour of the day for a president who has to protect the security of the United States."

Fine son. Let's take YOUR position of my 'throwing out the facts.'

If true, it should be easy for you to provide them. And if you're claim is going to be you already have in previous posts, then you're right back to your right wing conspiracy 'analysis' as your proof instead of looking at the numbers like the FRB.

And that would prove you have no facts, which would mean you're right back here... again... as usual.

After all, missing links in wiki, quoting AEI representatives on what they believe doesn't constitute anything near facts in the real world... just their opinions.
