This is the insanity that won't change unless parents have a choice.
Former Brooklyn teacher Christine Rubino said she was assigned to an empty cubicle in an administration building for five months and told to count all the chairs in the six-story building.
After Rubino tallied all the chairs in the dingy downtown Brooklyn building, she returned to her desk, where she collected her $75,000 salary and surfed the Internet while awaiting the outcome of her case.
The elementary school teacher at Brooklyn’s Public School 203 was fired after making a joke about drowning her students on Facebook.
In June 2010, a day after a 12-year-old Harlem girl drowned on a school trip to a Long Island beach, Rubino ranted online:“After today, I am thinking the beach sounds like a wonderful idea for my 5th graders! I HATE THEIR GUTS!”
She was fired a year later but successfully sued to get her job back. The city has appealed the verdict that went her way in February, so she remains unemployed while her case makes its way through the courts.

And that's just one of many stories.
Any school teacher stupid enough to talk about her students on Facebook should be fired immediately. No pay, no benefits.

REAGAN: But let's also look from the other side, at the freedom the doctor loses. A doctor would be reluctant to say this. Well, like you, I am only a patient, so I can say it in his behalf. The doctor begins to lose freedoms; it's like telling a lie, and one leads to another. First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then the doctors aren't equally divided geographically, so a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him you can't live in that town, they already have enough doctors. You have to go some place else. And from here it is only a short step to dictating where he will go. This is a freedom that I wonder whether any of us have the right to take from any human being.

REAGAN: You and I can do a great deal. We can write to our congressmen, to our senators. We can say right now that we want no further encroachment on these individual liberties and freedoms and at the moment the key issue is, we do not want socialized medicine. Write those letters now; call your friends and tell them to write them. If you don't, this program, I promise you, will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow, and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country until one day, as Norman Thomas said, we will awake to find that we have socialism, and if you don't do this and if I don't do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it once was like in America when men were free.

Well, you know that, and I know that, and anyone with a grain of common sense knows that.

But that didn't happen, did it? This teacher got paid for sitting in a room and surfing the Internet for five months before she was fired - and then she sued and got her job back.

Competition and choice is the ONLY solution to this kind of insanity.

The press crucified herman cain for this (hetero version, of course)

"KC -- During Barack Obama’s tenure as the president of the Harvard Law Review in the late 1980s, at least two male student editors complained to colleagues and senior university officials about inappropriate behavior by Obama, ultimately leaving their positions at the journal, multiple sources confirm to THE KANSAS CITIAN.The men complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Obama that made them angry and uncomfortable, the sources said, and they signed agreements with the university that gave them financial payouts to leave the journal. The agreements also included language that bars the men from talking about their departures. In a series of comments over the past 10 days, Obama and his administration repeatedly declined to respond directly about whether he ever faced allegations of sexual harassment at the journal. They have also declined to address questions about specific reporting confirming that there were financial settlements in two cases in which men leveled complaints.THE KANSAS CITIAN has confirmed the identities of the two male journal editors who complained about Obama but, for privacy concerns, is not publishing their names.White House spokesman Jay Carney told THE KANSAS CITIAN the president indicated to White House staff that he was “vaguely familiar” with the charges and that the university’s general counsel had resolved the matter."

Hard to believe. We're almost too overwhelmed to focus on so many wrongs in our society. But overwhelming the system is, I'm convinced, the plan to fundamentally transform this nation into a socialist/marxist nation - as was the prophetic words of Ronald Reagan back in 1961.

It might be easy to just throw these children away because their Democratic parents voted for the leaders who endorse the system and the unions.

But conservatives more than anyone should be demanding competition and choice even if it's to help people who don't have enough sense to do it for themselves.

Education and success enriches society as a whole.

This program did pass as surely as the sun came up since 1961 two years ago.

If it's not buried now, we might as well say goodbye to everything we once believed and hoped for in this country.
