Correct. Stronger municipal unions with higher pay, more benefits, and guaranteed pensions are the key to the financial future of Detroit.
That plus purging the few remaining white people.
Unions cut their own throats and, when it happens, they blame it all on a conspiracy to break unions and attack the Middle Class.

This happened with the PIIGS in Europe and it is now happening here.
Socialism doesn't work but creative blame tactics can be very effective amongst clueless Liberals/Socialist media boobs.

Galt is not all that interested in Florida law.
Then maybe Galt should avoid making statements specific to FL law if he's just making it up as he goes along.

It really doesn't look all that different than what we have now. You pay for services you use directly like water, trash, and school. The highways and interstates are owned by the State and Fed respectively, city roads could be paid for out of fees applied to some sales or property and/or vehicle fees and so on. Its not that difficult, we've only relied on government for these services for less than a century in some parts of the US.
Take water for an example, assuming they have a municipal water system. Would you continue that system, or sell the system to a private company?

What about all the city employees?

Remember we are talking Detroit here. Not California. Don't confuse the two. Just because California's unions have been allowed to ramrod through high salaries and rich pension benefits doesn't mean Detroit unions have done the same.

FACT: "Detroit is ranked 50th on the list of pay for the biggest 50 cities in the Unites States."

The city government of Detroit is bankrupt, the community of Detroit shouldn't be laden with the government's debt.
Bankruptcy will not burden the community with the city debts, except to the extent that their services will be reduced and their property may be worth even less than at present, at least in the short run.

Galt agrees with you that this is a great opportunity if the residents are willing to make some scarifies along the way.
