Once House Republicans passed a bill earlier this year to address skyrocketing student loan rates, the GOP seemed perfectly content to watch rates double this month, since the showdown gave them an opportunity to criticize Democrats for inaction and delay.

Bad news for tea party
The U.S. government posted a budget surplus in June, the latest sign of rapidly improving public finances that could reduce the urgency in Congress to strike a deal to raise the nation's limit on borrowing.
Rising tax revenues, public spending cuts and big payments to the Treasury from state-backed mortgage firms helped the government take in $117 billion more last month than it paid out, the U.S. Treasury said on Thursday.
What about the rest of the missing 26 TRILLION dollars?

The Republican list of potential candidates is strong, including (alphabetically) Bush, Christie, Cruz, Paul, Ryan, and Rubio.
The Democrats have no bench whatsoever after Hillary declines or is forced out, leaving any easy path for whomever Obama designates to fill the vacuum.
If that's the best cons have, they still haven't learned a thing.

What I have learned is they're willing to do anything to press their agenda on Americans.

Sure.
That's why Obama dropped the employer mandate.
Delaying by one year the implementation of the employer mandate is not the same as "dropping" it. Unfortunately, cry babies often get their way and we know business owners are always crying about one thing or another. They needed more time to implement the mandate and they got it. They have an extra year to get their act together...so be it.

You are informed as your liberal talking points allow you to be.
Did you watch that 3 minute video? Or is 3 minutes too long for you to be open to other possibilities?
Here. You can have one more chance.

What's your problem with tying the interest rate to the cost of money?

Why should students be subsidized at below-market rates?

It was the government that didn't have their act together.

I've watched every single Democratic presidential debate as well as Democratic conventions every year for at least three decades.

How many Republican presidential debates and Republican conventions have you watched?

Let's start there.
