The book and mini series, Winds of War, really brought home your point about Hollywood's and even high-ranking military officials' view of Hitler which was in a whole different light in the 1930s because he threw such great gala parties.
The threats to the Jews came very subtly and unexpectedly when it was finally understood what was going on. Then it was too late.
By then, Hitler had already invaded Poland and soon most of Europe.
No one ever suspected he had a dark side just under the surface for years.
That was a real eye opener for me too. How Hitler came across as so non-threatening for so long to so many. Kind of hard to believe in retrospect.
So why were Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh such fans of Hitler??

Henry Ford loved Hitlers marriage of Government and Corporations.

BTW, FORD built military vehicles in Germany for the German Army during WWII.

IBM gave them the tabulating machines that allowed Hitler to keep such good records of who he had killed.

Same with GM, they supported the Germans in WWII.

Care to talk about how Standard Oil supplied Hitler with petroleum products??

What did Hollywood do to support Hitler??

Did they build his military machine for him, as American Fascist Corporations did??

You've got your head so far up O'Reilly's arse you haven't taken a breath of fresh air in 5 years.

“White House Down”—What a Waste

A Hollywood-White House-Democratic Party Production
Starring Barack H. Obama as the President
John A. Boehner (Speaker of the House) as The Villain
And assorted white supremacists as his troops

Pity the poor Democratic Party-lackey screenwriters and movie makers. Events move so fast today that they can’t keep up. Not that it bothers them in the least. They just keep turning the scum out, and if you add enough preposterous (but exhilarating) action sequences, the booboisie public will pay your rent to stay in LA.

“White House Down” must have been written in the heady days when President Obama moved into the White House. A new day was dawning. Gone would be the reckless militarism of the cowboy Republican regime of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. We now had a sensitive and—glory be, black!—President in the Oval Office.

Of course, it sometimes takes an embarrassing amount of time for script to be turned into movie and released at the box office. This movie thus debuts when Barack, no longer a sensitive soul trying to bring peace to the Mideast, is making Dubya look like a wuss by comparison. Not to worry. Just throw in more explosions and right-wing villains. Logic and ideas have no place in a movie anyway.

Jamie Foxx plays Barack Obama, but a Barack Obama who shows he knows how to use a semi-automatic or a rocket launcher when he has to. The lovely Michele Obama gets only a cameo role. Sasha and Malia get only a photo in the White House bedroom. After all, we don’t want to exploit the children for Hollywood’s sake.

Spoiler alert! In the final sequence the John Boehner of the opposition party (and you know who they are) turns out to be the Ultimate Bad Guy behind this complicated scheme to do away with the President and the Vice-President so that he himself becomes President. Only in my dreams does John Boehner have the cojones to try and pull off something like that.

What a waste of money and celluloid, or whatever they use in Hollywood today.

(Lost one post already so hope this one doesn't post twice.)
The contradictions in this president's words is so glaring, it's amazing it hasn't been picked up and turned back on him.
He keeps inferring that al Qaeda is on the run. If the threats of terrorism have diminished, then why is the government building a huge expansive complex to house NSA in the middle of nowhere and Americans' privacy still being infringed upon?
This quote is as disturbing now as it was when Obama first made it after he was first elected:
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
So if terrorism is not the threat it once was according to this president and, yet, Americans' are still being spied upon to prevent another terrorist attack and Obama's enemies have already been targeted by the IRS and, because Obama believes we need a "civilian security force" that is "just as powerful as the military", there's something a bit unnerving and glaringly contradictory about this president's perception of who and what is a national security threat.
The truth of the matter is this president believes by his own words and actions that the biggest threat is from within - not from without.
He has made it quite clear that some of us are his enemies and some of us are his friends.
The good news is that we all know it now.
Oddly enough, the most obvious things are sometimes the hardest to see because seeing would be too hard to grasp.
History has proven it.
Your attempt to try and turn President Barack Obama into Joseph McCarthy isn't a good position to take except to help liberals who have been calling for greater investigations into how our Intelligence spying agencies operate and why Congress has not been exercising their oversight and regulatory functions more over the FISA court. Do you now agree with liberals and President Barack Obama that we need to welcome a larger public conversation on our privacy rights and what protections our Government provides us.

Not surprising, coming from an inbred juvenile teatard. You're what happpens when your father married his sister.

All you prove here is your racism, homophobia, and Obamaphobia.

All of which mark you as an idiot.

If you're on the side of the bullies, tolerance to differing points of view isn't necessary.

This president tried to silence his only opposition which he described as having "a big bullhorn". Fortunately, he failed in that attempt. However, liberals would love nothing more than to help him silence his only opposition.

The Attorney General eventually illegally confiscated journalists' and employees' emails and phone calls at Fox. The liberal media barely let out a peep of protest but became silent again.

The IRS targeting Obama's opposition prompted the liberal media to bark but, again, become silent.

An obvious coverup of a terrorist attack on 9/11 has been forgotten and swept under the rug by the liberal watchdogs.

Disillusionment has been the result of past "heroes" ending up being wolves in sheep's clothing.

The wolves in sheep's clothing in high places who have been pulling the wool over our eyes is going about its business of still trying to remain incognito, and the liberal media is the blind sheepdog sound asleep.

Guess I should stop saying goodnight.
Everyone thought he was a great man in the 1930s before the invasions. The systematic elimination of the Jews was not well-known until later on before the end of the war.
Hitler suppressed or eliminated his opposition by a process termed Gleichschaltung ("bringing into line").
Just thought that was interesting.
Suppressing and eliminating the opposition seems to be Obama's goal too. Obama in no way can be compared to Hitler. Obama is much too passive and too disinterested in leadership. In fact, I think he already retired mentally from the presidency.
But it is very late and I really should say goodnight.
Why bother??

Like I say, wolves in sheep's clothing. Hitler's watchdogs were blind and sound asleep too. And people had the wool pulled over their eyes because they were his lapdogs too.

That's precisely the danger of a media on the side of power.

Anything sinking in?

guess who will be on FOX next week.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Friday that police "disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little" as compared to murder suspects' descriptions, sparking criticism from activists and some politicians in a city that has been immersed in a debate about law enforcement and discrimination.
