When it's the Voting Rights Act and the Affordable Care Act on the line, Scalia doesn't hesitate to take an axe to "democratically adopted legislation," approved by the elected representatives of Americans who are able to "govern themselves." But when it's the Defense of Marriage Act, Scalia suddenly remembers his affinity for restraint?

Exactly one year ago yesterday, following some of Scalia's partisan antics, a constitutional law professor at UCLA said the conservative jurist "has finally jumped the shark." At the time, that seemed like a reasonable assessment, and yet, Scalia somehow manages to get worse.

Still nothing to back-up your claim?
I am more than willing to keep you posting that Lieberman was a Republican.
You are wrong; look it up.
Your buddy Dumbwaiter calls Boehner and other conservative Repugnants of being Democrats, seems you take no issue to that.

Double standard at work here??

Lieberman once was a Democrat. He became an Independent after losing the Democratic Primary. He became more of a Repugnant after that, even being McCain's top pick for VP.

So, if calling Boehner a Democrat is ok with you, you shouldn't have a problem with anyone calling Lieberman a Repugnant, which is what he became.

You have the consistency of Jello.

You were claiming that the Civil Rights law covered more than race. Not true.
I support the SCOTUS decision and all you are doing is being emotional and pointing to laws that don't apply.
Huh?

Doesn't cover ethnicity, nationality, religion, and gender?

Correct. Unable to find a reference that says Lieberman was never a registered Republican (nor one that said he was).

But the scrutiny specific to a few Southern states was all about race.

Today's urban North is the equivalent of the old South with regard to needing special scrutiny of voting rights.

Can use this
"Joseph Isadore "Joe" Lieberman (born February 24, 1942) is a former United States Senator from Connecticut. A former member of the Democratic Party, he was the party's nominee for Vice President in the 2000 election. Currently an independent, he remains closely associated with the party.

Pretty blistering assessment.
Think I misinterpreted Scalia's quote earlier. He was saying the disease stems from the exalted role of the Supreme Court - not the role of gay marriage. So I was right in my opinion - liberal judges.

Look thread imbecile & liar:

460,000 more jobs & 16.5 million more on food stamps

That's at least a ration of 1-35

If you look at "net" job growth through the end of last year, some say the ratio is in fact 1-75:

Here is a graph since your are mathematically challenged:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/food-stam...

1 - "the number of people on food stamps increased 16.5 million "

2 - "Obama's first term isn't technically over yet, but so far, employment has risen from 133.56 million in January 2009 to 134.02 million in the latest report, for December 2012. That's a net gain of about 460,000 or 0.3 percent."
----------

"from the last full year of Bush’s presidency (2008) through 2011, just three years into President Obama’s presidency, the number of people on food stamps increased 16.5 million -- going from 28.2 million to 44.7 million -- an increase of 59 percent in just a 3-year period - See more at: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/447-million-a... ;
